Indeed, it was the Scottish actor ‘Brian Cox’. Who oddly enough tweeted last Sunday; ‘Just enjoyed a nice breakfast in Primrose Hill and I swore I spotted the famous UA-camr Hannah Ricketts!’
I came here to see if anyone else had spotted him lol
😆
Yes. Saw him fairly quickly. Fantastic actor.
I noticed he was watching you Hannah! Maybe he thought u were a pap! 😁
Did he really tweet he saw hannah?
This is why Americans love the English. People, places, style, culture, elocution etc
Lovely indeed
I was born in Gloucester Avenue in 1943 and it was rather different back then. Primrose Hill itself was my 'playground'. Not many people know this but the top of the hill housed an anti-aircraft gun and brick air raid shelters during World War 2 which afforded small boys great entertainment. Much football was played on the areas outside the playground, which we called The Swings. I recall bunking into London Zoo through the fence down by the canal and during school holidays I used to go to see Guy the gorilla. As I grew up my local was The Chalk Farm Tavern and I held my wedding reception there more years ago than I care to remember. I wish I could afford to live there now.
Is Guy the Gorilla an exhibit in the natural history Museum now? I think I saw him and spent time looking at him, my daughter was so interested in learning about his life etc. maybe in wrong.
@@patriciasanderson2171 :Hi, thanks for your interest. You are correct, there is an exhibit of Guy the Gorilla at the Natural History Museum. Your daughter might be interested to know that Guy was born in1946 and arrived at London Zoo on 5th November, 1947 (hence his name). He was captured in the French Cameroons and was sent in exchange for a tiger from Calcutta Zoo. He was 5'4" tall and weighed about 520 lbs.
Back in the day when I used to go there the monkeys and apes were housed in a row of cages in a building known as the Monkey House (awful by today's standards). There was a barrier to prevent visitors from getting too close but a walkway enabled the keepers to go to each cage to feed the 'inmates'. There was a door at one end and I recall that one day I was standing by the door talking to the keeper when a woman asked if she could feed Guy some biscuits. He said to give the biscuits to him to do so but the woman walked past him and entered the walkway. Guy went berserk and attacked her - fortunately the massive bars and the plate glass window prevented this but I can tell you it was terrifying.
Guy died in 1978 from a heart attack during an operation on his infected teeth which was caused by visitors feeding him sweets.
The foundations of the WW2 guns are still be seen especially in the summer
Taking a stroll in your delightful company is always something to be savoured, Hannah. Primrose Hill is a lovely bonus, and we always learn something new from you too. Your subscriber count is steadily growing, at the rate of about a thousand per week. So well deserved!
Primrose Hill. Yes adorable. Thank you for the tour.
This Primrose Hill tour was beyond charming and how fortunate it wasn’t too crowded at the time. The architecture was pure perfection. Even though this was a shorter episode, it was most satisfying.
8.22: Chalcot Square. That’s where Jessica Haynes had her newspaper kiosk in Paddington 2. It’s also where Ted Hughes and Sylvia Plath moved to when they first came to London. I grew up on the west side of the Hill, went to Primrose Hill school back in the 1970s.
Cleaned up, kids fed, ..and Hannah has just posted a new video.. time to chill with a coffee 😊.
Hannah, I hope you enjoy researching and learning about these areas you show us because we really appreciate this information while you show us around. Thank you for another lovely vog😊.
I'm sure that was Brian Cox (Logan Roy) Succession. Primrose Hill is definitely an area I would love to live - IF I could afford it.
I love the interesting history of these little villages in London . Very enjoyable. 😊
Primrose Hill really does look a beautiful part of London. Almost like stepping back in time to a more traditional English town.
I do recommend London Zoo, it opened in 1828 and is the world’s oldest scientific zoo. It houses a collection of almost 15,000 individuals and is absolutely enormous considering it being in London. It stretches either side of regents canal. Most importantly with it being a conservation zoo it needs your participation to conserve animals not only in this country but all over the world. So please do make a visit, you will be amazed!
How exactly does it conserve animals? by keeping them in cages for tourists to gawk at?
@@nadias6435says a 40 something single vegan female with loads of cats
@@nadias6435 I live in Alaska & the Ak Zoo keeps only animals who wouldn't be able to live on their own in the wild. Orphaned young, injured, older, there are lots of reasons animals might need help to survive. These types of zoos aren't for profit. They exist to help wildlife and at the same time educate the public.
I did visit the zoo in lockdown and honestly I was super disappointed It was really badly done and I felt very sorry for how the animals were kept.. I wouldn't recommend
@@HannahRicketts all zoos around the world are terrible hannah, you should never lock animals in zoos😢
I think your history talks are MARVELOUS, Hannah; we get to bypass all the britannica faff and hear English history straight from someone who's lived there and has been immersed in it their whole life. I LOVE IT! Thank you, I can't wait to visit England - you've helped me so much build my bucket list!!
Yay! Another lovely neighborhood in London. I’m glad they’re keeping the independent shops and vibe of the area. Thanks!
So happy u took us along the Primrose area- those houses are amazing. Ooh, feeling hungry after seeing these yummy treats.
Would absolutely love to live in Primrose Hill, love the villagie feeling!
Primrose Hill has a very nice atmosphere to it.
James McCartney and Sean Lennon made a song about this place! So cool to see it in this video!
What a heavenly place. Nothing like Georgian terrace houses, - so beautiful. Amazing how calm and green London can be. Silver Birch trees are magic. ❤👍
I like it when you add a bit of history about the area.
I loved the Barbie cake (always wanted one as a child but Mom always made our favorite cake-not complaining). Hannah, you look particularly beautiful today.
I hate having to correct you, Hannah, but Lemonia is not Italian but Greek Cypriot, it's a great restaurant. Two minutes from Regents Park Road is Eton College Road, across the railway bridge, and there are great flats there which would certainly be within your budget. Make your dream come true!
I forgot to add text on the screen to mention this!
Lemonia used to be my local pub - I was born and raised in Gloucester Avenue just around the corner. It was called the Chalk Farm Tavern (known as The Chalk) and was where I held my wedding reception many years ago. It was later turned into a theme-type establishment called The Lotus which was based on the well-known racing cars. I wish I could afford to live there now!
15:40 Your humor is the best, Hannah. I always get a good chuckle at your little asides.
Also, was thinking perhaps why the residences seemed empty - might be that people are buying up these homes as "investments," but not living there. Many places are being bought as such in NYC and close to where I live in San Francisco.
PPS. Hopefully more chain stores won't move into the area. When I was in NYC a month ago, the line for Starbucks was wrapped around the block when there were handfuls of cute and charming coffeeshops to get actually good coffee and pastries from.
On a recent Boat Trip along The River Thames in London, the tour guide showed us one large block, all sold, but no occupants, and used as investments.
Those pastel, giant ice cream counter Primrose Hill houses make me drool 🐶🍡🍬🍭
Us slightly older folks know Primrose Hill as the place where The Rolling Stones took an album cover picture....and Paul McCartney would walk his dog Martha in the 1960's....He also wrote "Fool on the Hill" from an experience on Primrose Hill....
Primrose Hill is very colorful!
Would love to see you take a walk on the wild side and give us a tour of Grimsby.
I love watching your walking tours, and I would love to see a walking tour/shopping trip around Soho area, they have some nice little streets, independant shops and larger shops, I feel it has chill vibes and a great day out.
Ok, so there , you were right, actor Brian Cox from Succession, and he recognized you too! You are hitting these videos out of the ball park! Who will make the next cameo appearnce in your vlog next?
Yes the guy from Succession! I immediately thought that when I saw him.
13:38 haha he totally thought you were filming him! That's cool, you must see so many celebrities around
I love how magnificent British architecture can be. The preservation of these streets must be top priority. Thank you Miss Ricketts for making this video. Best regards from the south of Spain. Maximilian
How beautiful are your vlogs Hannah! Primrose Hill is amazing. You always bring the best places and things to show us. Wow, surely I would like to live there, it's really a wonderful area surrounded by gorgeous buildings and very cool shops, besides its own interesting history. By the way, I am enjoying a lot your comments on historical facts of all these places You're the best Hannah! Greenwich area is one of my suggestions to you. Have a wonderful FriYay!💐🏵🌺🌻🌼🙂💂🇬🇧
I am actually in London this week and did the Regent Canal walk today. Not to be missed
What a fabulous place. If I was a multi-millionaire I would love to buy one of those houses, use it as a holiday home and have a holiday in London every year. Hi from Australia.
Love your tours and can’t wait to visit again! You ARE a famous utuber. ❤

I love this architecture.
another welcoming history lesson, beautiful area and not very busy.
The houses in and around Chalcot Road are 1830 ish. My house behind the high street is 1885 which is the latest they were built. Belsize Park houses were slightly later as PH joined with Hampstead
I enjoy what YOU do Hannah!!!!!!! Thank YOU!!!!!!
On my list for my next trip to London...Primrose Hill and most certainly Hampstead!!!
You are worth far more than 130 000 subscribers! Every tourist should watch you!
Those homes are just gorg! I would want to live there as well. I wish we had more places like The Bread Peddler in L.A.
I love Brian Cox.. well spotted Hannah😊..I love your channel and will subscribe now..sorry I didn't sooner..your fabulous ❤
Such a lush part of London! I love how you explain the history of the area as well!! 🩷
We went to Primrose Hill today and had dinner at the Queens Pub. It was fantastic! Thanks for the recommendation, Hannah!
This is by far my favorite type of videos of yours❤
How lovely, I’m pretty sure many people are dreaming to live there with you.
I love Primrose Hill,my dentist was there when I lived in Camden.

I enjoyed the trip...I would like to see inside the kitchen shop, that is my favorite hobby. Thank you 😊🎉
Tara Kings Apartment outside Location used in the 1960s Avengers Series. I think its the door on the corner next to the Paddington Bear at 10:32
I visited Primrose Hill on my trip to London last year. Definitely one of the most pleasant neighbourhoods in the city.
Thanks Hannah this was very interesting 👏
Good Afternoon Hannah another great travel vlog Primrose Hill looked perfect little shops interesting architecture canals of course bake shops and history thanks stay safe see you soon 😘🌸🌺🌻
Very few Salads can be saved for the next day, Potato, macaroni, few. If you want a salad prepared for the next day, don’t put the dressing on it. Although, salad fruits and veges will limp even with cling wrap and refrigeration. Good luck Hannah🇦🇺😉🥗
Good Morning Hannah love your videos and I love the bits of history. It's 6:12 am Monday here in upstate N.Y and rainy
Yes it was Brian Cox .. great actor
I can’t wait to go to ENGLAND!
You certainly know what you want Hannah. Hampstead, Primrose Hill. 👍 yes you do look much better with long hair.
I LOVE the pastel houses! I would love to be Paddington Bear's neighbor! As for the bits of history, you put in the perfect amount of history mixed with modern culture to make your videos very interesting. 😊 (Your shorter hair looks great!)
Loved Primrose Hill lovely shops and buildings, just brilliant.❤
I love 💕 it!! 101 Dalmatians was my favorite book when I grew up and Primrose hill was a big part of the story 😍
What a beautiful place , loved the bookshops and yes please tell us your book recommendations and maybe a book shopping video , thank you for showing us around primrose hill and yes I would love to live there , maybe a walking video along the canals 😊 ….📚💞📚
Next time I'm back in town I'm going to go here. Can't believe I lived in London for so long but never went there! Great video😀
I believe the 19 th century photographer Roger Fenton lived in Primrose Hill. I found his blue plaque a few years ago
Yes, you got Brian Cox on video. Such fun!
Hi Hannah, thanks for this beautiful tour. The area indeed has a very calm and relaxing vibe to it.
This is been a super nice series Hannah and Primrose Hill has been something really special. To be so close to the city yet seem like it’s such a far away village. It’s just beautiful. Thank you for taking us with you.😊
The Primrose Hill walking tour was amazing I liked the commentary and music . also how clean it was 👍💐
Brian Cox!!! Well spotted!
Love the vid, Hannah!! ❤🇬🇧
A great tour of Primrose Hill, one of my favorite areas of London. And that def is a suprise appearance from Succession's Brian Cox sitting outside at the cafe at 13:36.
You are a beautiful breath of fresh air… innocently amusing and effortlessly charming.
But remember history is never boring, it’s the telling of it that reflects our emotions towards it .
Accidentally filming MR Cox was 😂 so funny!
Keep it up.
Just loved this Primrose Hill tour. Was super excited that you also love Lemonia. It’s a favourite of ours when we visit London to see family.
I was supposed to visit Primrose Hill during my stay in London but I didn't unfortunately. SO I'm so happy to see this video. Thank-you 😊

Have a great week Hannah.
Hi Hannah, all those beautiful sorbet colored homes had me thinking about ice cream or a macaron. I just can't watch a Hannah vlog while hungry, you show the best places to grab a coffee or lunch. So enjoyable!
Hi Hannah, I recently stumbled upon your UA-cam channel. I was in London on vacation last week, and I truly wish I had discovered your videos before my trip. They are incredibly comforting, authentic, and informative. I absolutely love them! 💞💞💞
Excellent again, one week ago you did afternoon tea and you were trying on clothes, everything look good on you .
you are so well-spoken !
Yes I would love to live there , thanks for sharing 👍👍
Loved your video of Primrose Hill.
Thanks for all your tours Hannah! Love watching your channel.
Fabulous
What a elegant and pretty place Hannah. I am amazed its so close to the inner London. Love the architecture and the cute shops, and the view from the park! Thanks again.
Very nice walk about Hannah, never been to Primrose Hill. I grew up in Blackheath Village, S.E.3 . Hannah could you consider doing walk about there? I live now in Arizona for past 25 years. Just subscribed to your channel. 👍
As a 69-year-old Londoner,I have tried, and failed, miserably, to see all of London and to my eternal shame,I have never visited Primrose Hill.
I lived my first 29 years 2 miles South of Central London and then moved 11 miles away to The Suburbs,40 years ago, in 1983.
I will return in the next 3 days for a Tour of Primrose Hill to rectify this, thanks to you Hannah and I have Subscribed.
Beautiful place
❤😊Only HANNAH could make such an enchanting London walkabout--The sunny smile of HANNAH gives PRIMROSE HILL a special glow & dreamlike quality. The pastel colored Regency townhouses, the grand Victorian terraces, the upmarket delis--eateries--bakeries--pubs & old fashioned lamp posts & more---HANNAH includes them all with some interesting history thrown in. And she "loves us & leaves us" on Hilltop Park with its glorious panoramic view of Londontowne! Such a wonderful dream...And Remember these words of wisdom from this vlog:::"Life is short---Eat the cake!"😊🍰
Nice Video Hannah, keep it up.
18.54. l think this is the exact place where Bill Brandt took his famous portrait of the artist Francis Bacon in 1963.
I was born in Primrose Hill ......
...... Primrose Hill, Lancaster!
