    Handsome bag, but I don't like the redesign feature-wise. The vertically oriented hook field looks like you need to really line up the velcro to get it to catch, whereas the V1 had the hook field horizontal, so it can close even with an odd load where one side was more packed out than the other. They should've replaced the velcro altogether with a mag latch similar to the Everyday backpack. Also the stiff hypalon base made it easier for the V1 to stand up, but with the V2 it looks impossible unless you have something heavy with a flat base in there. I don't use a capture clip so maybe in that aspect some will find this more useful. V1 > V2 IMO.

    Great review. Agreed with most everyone, V1 is my preference as well. Seems like the v2 has one less pocket in the main compartment, which i prefer over the 5 SD card holders inside the zipper. Idk why they’re ditching the brown color (although the midnight is nice) and i miss the yellow innards of the V1 in black. I think the grey looks sick in the update, tho.

    I wish they’d make something between this and the 3l sling….
    Cause the 3l is really more like a 4.5l

    Through review. IMO v1 is better. Still the best pouch I own hands down.

    Nice update. The change in inner pockets do seem right to me. It is now more for many little things. When traveling with paspoort, or other similar documents, they do not have a proper pocket anymore and gets thrown arround. I'll stick to V1

    I came here for the comparison so thank you for that segment. I actually don't like the updates. Had they chosen to ditch the velcro and use magnets (which a lot of PD has) I might have been swayed... not sure why they would want to put the capture clips on the end of the bags unless you want to geek out and have two camera bodies. I prefer V1 where the camera is centered and the ends are almost a buffer in case the bag swings. The new included strap is just silly with only long and really long options whereas using a camera strap, especially a PD strap gives you more options. On top of everything else... there is new discontinued price on the PD website so I'm gathering three more of the V1... 🤷‍♀️

    I love my peak design field pouch v1. I was thinking they should have a trade in option, I do not need money for it. I just want the midnight blue one

    Thanks for this walkthrough of the new field pouch. Hope there will be an in-depth review of it and comparison with version 1. Other than the exterior looks, I don't see much benefits to upgrading from v1.

      I provided a comparison of the v1. Exterior very minimal changes. Interior was rearranged. It has more individual pockets.

    • @Madillusionist
      @Madillusionist 3 роки тому

      @@1KINDPhotography having more individual pockets doesn't equate to better functionality. I liked the v1 as it's versatile as a tech pouch, day bag, and waist pack. Yes the v2 has more slots but it limits what i can fit in there especially the sd card slots. A pen loop holder would have been more useful tbh.

      @@Madillusionist sorry, didn't get to finish my post and submitted it. What I meant to add was that there really isn't much of a difference or much of an upgrade from v1. The zippered pocket is flipped with the elastic pockets. So if you have a v1, I don't see a need to really upgrade as the size is essentially the same with a different interior layout and now features dual Capture Clip mounting options. It's nice that they changed the attachment point for the strap and include one now where as before they didn't.
      Oh, and the colorways are different to match their current bags.

    The folding top is stiff, takes up luggage space but can’t load much, travel tech pouch has more room, soft, easy to load, a much better option. I have both and this is my experience.

    I am not sure if this is a review or just an informational video. What I wanted to see is how it looks you wearing the pouch with camera dangling on its side and comments on the practicality of using it, and how easy or hard getting the camera in and out of the clip. However it looks like a nice every pouch.

    • @1KINDPhotography

      Different people, different use cases, different scenarios.
      I don't use this with my camera attached. Why? My Canon mirrorless cameras and lenses are too too big and heavy to be hanging off of the pouch. I use camera bags or camera strap. I use this to carry cables, batteries, wallet, phone and other items. Walking around will just cause it to bounce around even more.
      I also don't use this with a strap. If anything, I have this looped through my pants belt for stuff I need close to me when I'm on a shoot such as memory cards, batteries, filters, store lens cap, etc.
      Getting it in and out of the clip is no different than having the clip on your hip. Just different placement.

    Is it possible to put a small camera inside? Like a leica m?

    • @1KINDPhotography
      @1KINDPhotography  6 місяців тому

      I don't have a Leica but from what I've read online, it will fit the Leica M. I guess it also depends on the lens size as well but people have said they use the Leica M with the field pouch.

    Thanks for the video! How long is the strap fully extended? That isn't on their website! Cheers.

    • @1KINDPhotography
      @1KINDPhotography  3 роки тому

      Strap at its shortest is approximately 32.5 inches (this is the length when you receive it). Move the buckle to the very end of the other latch and the strap is approximately 61.5 inches fully extended. I'm 5 feet 9 inches and with it fully extended, it comes down to my thigh area. At its shortest, its like a mens crossbody bag/wearing a fanny pack as a sling.

      @@1KINDPhotography I'm an "extended sizes" woman and I was afraid it would be too short. Thanks for the info. I think I'll pick one up.

    It looks like the top has longer pieces of velcro to attach to the bottom velcro, which would help with complaints about the velcro stopping working in v1. Does the velcro material seem more sticky?

    • @1KINDPhotography
      @1KINDPhotography  3 роки тому +1

      Yes, the flap has longer velcro. The strength is slightly stronger than v1 but very minimal.

    Would this fit a Nintendo switch with joy con on? 🤔

    • @1KINDPhotography
      @1KINDPhotography  3 роки тому +2

      It will fit but it won't reach the bottom because the pouch tapers in. So the Switch will sit in the middle. Also, it'll be a tight fit so the joysticks on the joycon will be rubbing and we already know how they have drifting issues.
