“Not doing great in terms of viewership” I hope Arty realizes that’s almost certainly because the ASL (SSL) is happening at the same time! The last SSL video took me like a week to get through lol. Love this tournament format!
@@noahbaker-kang5148 People know that. He's simply pointing out that the compromise of adding the audio from the feed doesn't seem to be adding any actual game sounds and you can only hear the commentators. I.e. It's the worst of both worlds.
Gotta say, I'm grateful for the BW casts, Artosis, always a highlight of my day. It was weird to watch BW without the game sound, so personally I prefer having it even with the Korean casters commentating. With or without the Kor commentary, though, I'll watch professional BW casted by you either way.
Love the long-form casts and tournament format! There are tools that can split vocals from music tracks that you may be able to use to pre-process the original audio to lower the original casters volume. Viewership wise we're pretty flush with content right now between SSL and artosis casts so it may be that people are catching up on one or the other. Amazing games here!
Locked-in Artosis here. I watch almost every cast you release that's between competitive players and never miss it if it's between two top-20 or so players. I already watched this game weeks ago and remember it was an amazing series. But the level of detail your casts add to it is so beyond insane. I'm someone who loves detail and never played this game competitively but played Melee competitively, so I know how insanely deep it can get. I'm not even 8 minutes in this video and the stuff about 3 marines v 4 marines potentially losing you the game, or the exact speed of Scan's gas, or the SCV having to come back and not scout or have your economy ruined, is all stuff that is rarely, if ever, emphasized/pointed out. The speed of Scan's gas yes (although I'm not exactly sure how 1:36 gas is different than other timings other than it speeding up the factory and weakening the general economy) but the other stuff definitely not. It separates you many tiers from every other caster. Are you better than Nyoken, by the way?
I had to turn down the audio on the video because Arty's commentary was too loud. At that volume, I couldn't really hear the game sounds anymore. The previous format with just Broodwar music and Arty's commentary is my preference.
I prefer the audio in this video over the last few. Your level over the previous commentators is loud enough to where it isn't a problem, and the Korean commentators commentary underneath is a nice, and also nostalgic, background sound heh
Loving these PSL games so far, the series with Gau x ArtUser was one of my favorites in years of watching these games. I do like the new audio format in this video too.
I'm sorry to see that this tournament so far hasn't been doing especially well in views. I don't generally watch a lot of your content where the game is going on live, mostly watch your replay content, but this one has been rather pleasant so far, the first video on the tournament especially got me to break from watching my typical content format. As for the audio, I personally do think you balanced the Korean commentary with your own quite well when it comes to volume, but I prefer the previous videos where the game and commentary audio was absent. I haven't finished this video yet so it might grow on me, but that's my first impressions as I'm watching this match.
There is a good chance because the thumbnails and titles are different youtube is only pushing it to subs where his normal videos show up for other people.
I liked the audio from the first 3 games casted, the commentary was the only thing that came through from the game/feed audio on this VOD. Still great, though, thanks for keeping StarCraft in English alive!
Bit late to this (now ASL is over I'm getting caught up on ArtosisCasts) but wanted to say thank you for covering PSL! And thanks for listening to the feedback and testing out with Korean audio. I did miss the in-game audio, especially unit sound effects, but you can't really hear most of it over the Korean casters here anyway, so I personally prefer your original system of playing StarCraft themes and not having any audio.
Not sure my morning would be complete without a hot coffee and artosiscasts. I especially love watching Scan or Rush games, thanks for doing a great job artosis much appreciate from Canada.
Artosis I just love hearing your words and thoughts about the pro games. It's giving me a lot of tips as a casual player. So in game sound or just you talking is good either way! 👍 Keep up the awesomeness.
You did a very good job with the audio on this one, I was worried at first when you were talking about it. Overall I'm not sure it was worth it. The other casters are not distracting like I worried but unless I'm really listening for it, with headphones on, I still can't hear the game audio.
I can't hear sound nor music. This is definitely worse than the previous setup in which we at least had music. Edit: That third game Snow read Scan perfectly. It wasn't just skill gap diffrence it was brilliant mind reading.
Love having your audio overlapping with the quieter korean casters. No clue what they're saying but their hype when things happen is really fun to listen to
MY MAN SCAN (the audio sounds nice like this btw, still getting caught up on this channel after falling behind on SSL, so fair warning I haven't heard it yet the other way)
This audio is better than previous setups imo. Can barely hear game audio but thats fine because any louder and the casters would be too loud. This is a good balance!
I like the korean commentary/sound effects underneath your voice for sure. Even if I can faint StarCraft 1 sounds in the bg, its enough for me to feel like Im in the battle
This style audio is muuuuuuuuuuuuch better than silence, after a few mins I forgot there were even K-broadcasters going in the back. Having any gamesounds at all is nice! Thank you for doing this Mr. Toesis!
Snow rules. Honestly the funniest video you could possibly do is to fly him to your house and challenge Scan to a "friendly training match" for your off race
me personally i like the new audio setup. i dont mind hearing the other commentators with the game sound :) its nostalgic anyway hearing them gasp and yell about everything XD
Regarding the audio it's the korean cast that can fix this and it should be quite easy just by splitting audio channels. Pretty disappointing if they don't.
Great match. The winner was very cunning and feeded false information to the opponent, so that the window of opportunity was not leveraged. I prefer the original sound in the background, brings back memories from old MSL tournaments.
Looking forward to these games all week, much thanks Arty and to PSL! This audio format is $. commentator reactions add to the hype, and ofc game sounds (though quiet) are nice.
I like this volume setup better. Feel like I can hear some game sounds and the kor comm wasn’t distracting to me. Better than the no game sound just music to me.
As others said, you still can't really hear the game audio, but I prefer this to muted audio with music. The korean casters in the background add a nostalgic vibe to the cast too.
Yeah not having game audio is a big miss, but the korean commentary in the background is more distracting. We will just have to hope there will be a clean feed soon.
Couldnt really hear game sounds but for some reason I think I prefer this format. Either option is fine though and big thanks for bringing us some great bw commentaries!
Man sc1 pro games are something else, compared to sc2 where you mostly see one giant army moving back and forth in sc 1 the movement looks so much better
PSL is superior content - all casted games are good, but added context is king. The first casts crashing a little with your SSL cast could explain the numbers.
Game 1 Scan: "That still only counts as one!" Game 2 Scan (on that horrible low ground by his 3rd): "Drums... drums in the deep... we cannot get out... we cannot get out... They are coming!"
Having the replay with only ingame audio would be perfect, not sure how much I like the sound in background. Maybe having race specific music running at like 10-15% of your voice in the background would be nice? The caster talking can be distracting but that depends on the volume.
The audio is slightly better than utter silence, though hearing the korean is a bit distracting. In the end, it’s slightly better. Just wish it was more like your casts where we can hear a nice balance of the sounds and BGM with your voiceover 23:09 LMAO never thought i would see snow, OF ALL PEOPLE, getting flustered like this! All the footage i have seen of him has been him constantly laughing, clapping with his feet, and talking about his weird obsession with kimchi 🤣🤣🤣💀💀💀💀
Arty, i have your solution. Cast with just music, but have your kids create sound effects for battles in the background based on game footage. You're welcome
I definitely prefer this audio setup - hearing the game sounds is much better even if they're quiet. Also, I don't mind the Korean casters (I didn't even notice them for the most part).
With the sound levels as is it isn't much difference in terms of game sounds. A clean feed would be ideal, always surprises me that you don't get separate audio tracks in any case when such stuff is recorded. In terms of low view count: It might be that previously the longer videos on the channel were often direct-from-stream videos which may be a no-go for some viewer (can speak from my point of view :P). I enjoy the casts and the PSL! :)
The Audio was great. In the first minutes it was a bit annoying hearing the Korean audio track in the background, but after while I got used to it and only heard Artosis and the game sounds. Good Job Arty!
Snow vs Scan such a nice match! I don't mind the korean audio but the in-game as to be so low I don't think it adds much, the previous casts with game music were also fine. The best would be clean audio without the casters for sure! PSL please.
@artosiscasts I think the game sounds could be louder. The Korean is easy to tune out and the hype does add some ambiance :). Also what a great series. Rooting for both Scan and Snow, hard to watch these two favorites go at it against each other
I miss the ingame sound which i cannot hear in this recording, like when a pylon is building. however the random korean in the background does not add anything positive for me.
Had no preference over the audio, I guess the commentary underneath also helps to indicate its being streamed live if some people weren't aware ect (who knows). In general the audio is very good
“Not doing great in terms of viewership”
I hope Arty realizes that’s almost certainly because the ASL (SSL) is happening at the same time!
The last SSL video took me like a week to get through lol.
Love this tournament format!
If other folks like this audio set up, I'm all for it. Personally I couldn't hear any of the game audio, only the Korean casters.
@@noahbaker-kang5148 People know that. He's simply pointing out that the compromise of adding the audio from the feed doesn't seem to be adding any actual game sounds and you can only hear the commentators.
I.e. It's the worst of both worlds.
Is it because you’re racist
Yeah the previous way was just fine. I wasn’t even bothered by the lack of game sounds
Honestly can’t hear game sounds at all still. But reminds me of gomtv days when you could hear the casters in the background.
Gotta say, I'm grateful for the BW casts, Artosis, always a highlight of my day. Sad to hear the views aren't doing as well :( but I hope you know we are grateful for bringing us these bangers with your amazing commentary!!
only reason views are "down" on these is cuz SSL vids uploaded at the same time and nobody has infinite time
@@joebazooksmakes me wonder, why did he decide to do a tournament right in the middle of the years biggest tournament going on ?

I just watched 9 hours of brood war at work. I may have a problem
Yeah, your problem is why didn't you watch 10 hours?
@@DarkDramonI quit my job and watch BW full time.
@davidm2031 this is peak human performance
Spider men pointing at each other
Well working on one window and watching this on second makes you feel better and perform work better.
I liked the underlying Korean commentary, because although I can't understand it I can definitely hear the emotion when a player pulls something off.
snow is getting PTSD of when he thought he was fighting artosis, and it was scan who was playing.
Lolol so great
haha, I remember that game.
plot twist, arty was actually sitting in for scan lmao
*sad feet clapping*
Lmfao
I prefer the audio in this video over the last few. Your level over the previous commentators is loud enough to where it isn't a problem, and the Korean commentators commentary underneath is a nice, and also nostalgic, background sound heh
This was the best match so far. Personally I like both version of audio, for me the mainpoint is to hear your commentary, which as S tier as usually.
I like this audio level. You can hear distinct effects, like buildings warping in, but yourcommentary is perfectly audible over the previous casters.
Loving these PSL games so far, the series with Gau x ArtUser was one of my favorites in years of watching these games. I do like the new audio format in this video too.
I think the background commentary adds to the atmosphere and excitement.

thank you for including the audio in this one, personally prefer it alot over the silence
I love the previous format with just music and the commentary way more !!
Didn't mind the background commentators in anyway, kinda liked it even. Love the series and the games as a whole! Thanks artosis
As someone who watches with headphones it's nice to be able to hear the conflict of units in particular. I don't mind either version.
Thanks for the cast! I preferred this audio over just game music.
