20-year veteran teacher here: Your baby girl is very bright. She listens to every word you say. She heard so many science words, and responded well beyond her toddler years when she identified a larger basal plate. Keep teaching her, she has places to go and things to do. I love the way you interact with her.
Can your babe be ANY sweeter, cuter, smarter and more precious!? I came to learn how to take care of my garlic and I fell in love with this little ray of sunshine! 😁
What a precious child. So patient and well behaved. She opened her hand for you to pass her the garlic you were showing but never once interrupted ❤️ Adorable
You can clearly tell this little girl is raised outside in nature, where children ought to be! They are more calm, grounded, and focused, because their natural biology is able to channel their endless energy right where it was intended to go. Way to go, dad!
Am I the only one who thought "give the garlic back to Geneva, Luke" for the whole time she was holding out her hand? It was adorable! Awesome video, as always!
Great Video! I'm the director of education at Farmily, Reno and I'm presently creating a lesson about Garlic to teach the kiddos next week. Thank you for your demonstration, it was fun and clear. Geneva is a lucky girl, she is getting an excellent education. Schools can learn from you
Lovely to see you gardening and making videos with your daughter! Kids often just really want to be included in what we do, they don’t necessarily need fancy toys or activities. She’s so sweet and smart! And you’re very good with her :)
I just totally enjoyed seeing this father daughter interaction !! ! What a patient and attentive little one !!! Definitely a future gardener. Oh and thanks for the garlic info !!
This is one of the best gardening channels on the internet. The information is always well organized, compact, and relevant. And this time it was ADORABLE!!! We're a couple days away from harvesting our garlic!! Thank you MIgardener!!
Tomorrow I will trim off the roots. I have hung my 20 braided hard necked garlic on my deck in the shade during our heat wave. They are now relaxing hanging up in my pantry. Looking great.
Harvest day for me today, so this was very helpful. Geneva is so adorable and so well behaved. What a good dad to teach her skills at such a young age. I love your channel Luke. I’ve been following you since 2020 and have learned so much. Thank you for all you do. And congrats on your million subs.
What an adorable little one! You're so lucky to have such a wonderful little girl. You're doing a great job raising a smart, considerate child, eager to learn and who can sit quietly through the whole video (not easy for a child that young). She's absolutely lovely.
Love seeing Geneva and how she has grown. She is looking like your beautiful wife Sindy. Love the video. This is going to be my first year to try and grow garlic. Best wishes always.
OMG, Geneva is super cute, not to mention so well discipline, too! I was so busy watching her that I didn't quite hear what you had to say, Luke. Will need to watch the video again! :)
Thanks for teaching me almost everything I know about gardening. My garlic lasted the whole year to the point I still have some left and my next harvest is just about done drying. You're the best gardener on UA-cam by far!
I’ve been washing with the hose to get the dirt off for years. Never had a single problem with mold or early sprouting-we usually run out in early Spring. For curing I bring mine indoors for curing. The whole house smells of garlic for a week, but we have zero vampire issues because of it.
While I’ve always hose cleaned the bulbs, with good results, certainly pleasing to have them so clean off the bat, I think I’ll try a dirty cure this year and see if I get better results.
We toured your store today in port Huron. Really enjoyed buying more seed and meet your staff along with taking pictures and videos! Saw you down the street! From Mississippi and enjoyed our day!
The Mac’s Happy Homestead shoot you should have said hey! I was dropping off some paperwork to a contractor and we are headed out for our anniversary. Lots of love!
You seemed busy. Happy anniversary, we’re heading back to the Pratt’s hootenanny in Somerset. Come up here to see the store. Thanks for your wisdom in gardening!
You giving your little girl a great upbringing exposing her to food production and nature at such a young age, I salute you sir. Thanks for the video :)
My first time successfully growing garlic this year. Absolutely right on plastic bag storage being a MUST to avoid. Great way for moles to grow and shorten life span of what is grown.Air circulation is a NEED in order to be able to enjoy it for as long as possible.
Omg you have the best gardening assistant evr ❤🤗 Sorry dude but she is a sleeper, she stole the show! Kudos to raising such a wonderful patient and polite young lady. Your garlic is awesome too 🤭
Your daughter is so precious and such a little helper. You can see she is loving gardening like mommy and daddy. Enjoyed the video, very helpful as my garlic will be ready in a month to harvest. God Bless!!!!
Thanks for the garlic storage guide. It’s very helpful. The garlic I bought from you last fall will be harvested this week in Texas. We are so excited! We harvested 2 bulbs yesterday and they look great! Geneva is adorable! I love how she automatically said ...”or go home!”
I know this is an old video but I just harvested some of the garlic I got from your shop last year. It’s *amazing*! It’s probably the biggest garlic I’ve ever grown. The variety is called Duganski I believe. I’m in California zone 9b and didn’t expect a hard neck variety to do so well here! Now they’re hanging out to dry. So exciting! By the way your daughter is unbelievably adorable and she clearly adores her daddy so much.
Dug garlic 2 days ago and have it outside under shade cloth. What do you do when humidity levels rise and a chance of rain threatens? Tarp it? Move it inside?
Unfortunately, I trimmed my roots right when I harvested my garlic. But that’s all I did. I hung it from the rafters in my garage and now I am waiting to do the rest. I’ve been growing garlic for years and it seems to me that I do my harvesting different every year but I’m gonna try this year.
Surprised your channel allowed comments with your sweet helper there. She looks so much like Mamma! Oh UA-cam, silly way of dealing..... Anyway, my hardneck from last year is just going bad, but many are still fine. Just harvested this year’s crop. We heat with fire, makes the house super dry, maybe that helps. Totally agree garlic is super easy. Love it!
Just pulled up my first ever batch of garlic and I'm so excited! It smells incredible! I already did a rookie mistake and washed them, but oh well. Live and learn. Thanks for the informative video and the extra cuteness of your garden assistant!
thank you so much, this was excellent, countered some other posts, confirmed what I believe about hardneck being longer lasting if treated properly. It's been many years since I've grown garlic. Just harvested 35 heads of Siberian hardneck. They are curing on my patio in the shade.
You had the cutest assistant today. Sorry, but she upstaged you today. Lol. Thanks foe another great & informative video. Love & Hugs from Vicki in Ft. Worth, Texas 🇨🇱🇺🇸

FYI guys, those stems/leaves, once completely dry, you can grind into powder and use it. Same thing. I eat the leaves. They’re good!
Great garlic advice. You are a great dad and your daughter is precious. She’s lucky to have you.

It’s my first year growing garlic! Thanks for helping me out!
It's been 4 years now since I've had to buy garlic. It's my favorite crop to grow and hands down the easiest. Cheers!
Great interaction with you precious daughter. You answered my questions, and some I didn't know to ask, thank you.
The little one stole the show! She’s so sweet. I planted some cloves which are now sprouting. Fingers crossed.
Your little helper is adotable! Great info as always. Thank you Luke!!

Through my first garlic season, I keep coming back to this video!

Rich W I wonder if you are in a dry climate?...like me...Wyoming

I buy my oranges in mesh bags. I save a few of the bags every year, for such things as storing garlic.
I just pulled out a head today
Huge!
I put some in plastic shopping bags last year!!
Never again
Thanks for the cool, cute video!
Great work Geneva

I want to be that adorable little kid sitting there learning from everything he says 👍🏼 every day. Garden stuff all day!
Your garden helper can say “basal plate”, and knows what it is; Some adults may not know this. 👍🏾gardeners rule! Great video.
