I'm from Medellin and I haven't watched the doc, but I appreciate if what J Balvin wants is to show the other face from our city. I really wish him the best success and I'm grateful to Trevor for the interview, it was real and nice.
They don't really care(Americans) , they think we're just arguing about a tax reform, the government is killing us and they have since decades back, folks from the country side were abused by both guerilla groups and government groups meant to fight those guerilla organizations, but for Americans, Colombia's just a drug lord country or a tourist place to f**k pretty people.

Yes, Trevor you have a big platform with millions of people following you. Please show them what is happening in our Country right now. The world need to see it, We need a change #SOSCOLOMBIA
My parents are Colombian. I grew up in the states, but I’ve been traveling to Colombia since I was a small child to visit family. I love Colombia and I love J. Balvin. Jose’s music is so uplifting and catchy. If I’m ever feeling down, listening to “Mi Gente” makes me feel better. 🎶❤️🎶
Trevor you have a big platform with millions of people following you. Please show them what is happening in our Country right now. The world needs to see it, We need a change #SOSCOLOMBIA
Trevor. Please, I've been waiting for you to talk about the situation we are living in in Colombia. We need people with a voice like you to send the message to the world. #SOSColombia #NosEstanMatando #ParoNacional
Visited Medillin in Dec. It is such a rescilient place and the stories of the people and what happened to them over the decades was heartbreaking and inspiring how they survived in spite of it all. 2 days after my trip I booked another! This time to Bogota. The day the protests started (this month) I was supposed to arrive, but I canceled my flights (bc of curfews). Then I saw the news!
@@feebeedoc78 Sure! But what an opportunity to make a real difference and stand with the most marginalized in a government that still has a feudal relationship with their population no? I'm not sure I can justify saying I come from the streets and then turning my back on those who are still on the streets and watching me bask in my wealth and all-of-a-sudden claim "I don't like to discuss politics"....
J Balvin is amazing,i like him actually. And at least he is speaking his truth and let people know what is like to be born and raised in a poor dangerous place.Man i love his music.🤗🤗
You gave Chile a minute when there were massive protests, please do the same for Colombia, the last number of death that I know is 42, is not a small issue, police have been really violent...
Trevor, can you talk about Tigray in Ethiopia which is on a being of human made famine? Ethiopians and the world hears you because you are the voice for the voiceless.
Bro, delete this, JB is everything but a real representation of Colombia rn. "JBalvin, there's people dying", use your plataform and your media to inform people, we are tired of your fake positivity.
Regardless of what Balvin is saying, or not, a close look into Colombia's current social and political turmoil is due. 30+ people have died by police hand on protests that have been going on for at least 15 days. Balvin`s movie can wait. we can`t. Historically black communities and cities are being targeted by Colombia's own armed forces. I believe this beats whatever a boy from Medellin has to say
This interview seems a bit out of touch and even plain tone deaf. They just talk about "what's happening in Colombia" as if it is something to just shrug off. I have been expecting Trevor to give some insight as to the causes or at least show a bit of sympathy towards the victims but this is all that TDS could come up with? I mean come on.
Let's get some one in the show from Colombia who actually care about the people and no just the fame and money he don't make any coment about the killing of his own people that is going on in May 2021 ...Let's get better idols . How about interview some artist who care about help people.
J Balvin has spoken about why he’s uncomfortable to speak up. He’s an artist and wants to show the positive side. If he gives an opinion he’s criticized, if he stays quiet he’s criticized. As a Colombian, I appreciate that he recognizes what’s going on but continues to spread joy and the beauty of Colombia. All I ever hear is the negative which can be disheartening.
He "acknowledged" what was going on after being attacked for days... same as Maluma, Shakira and the "big" Colombian artists. Literally Justin Bieber said more than many of them... It's sad how American idols are so quick to use their platforms to ask for help or explain relevant issues but Colombian artists seem to be too afraid of the political repercussions and prefer to stay shut.
I see that you tried to introduce in the conversation Colombia's current situation but José is not the guy to talk about that, he just brought vague words without saying anything relevant. Really hope that you, Trevor, can talk about this topic more deeply next time. That would be very important for millions of Colombians trying to bring positive changes to a society that has gone through lots of hard moments for centuries.
This man released a documentary about himself in the middle of one of Colombia's worst crises in recent memory while people are being murdered in the streets by the government and stays silent about it and has the audacity to go on american talk shows to talk about "the real Colombia"...
no dijo nada!!!!! 🙄🙄👎👎 i'm so dissapointed we need better representatives... A lot of this dude's fans are being killed on the streets by the police right now and all he has to say is "I don't like to discuss politics" ... 🙄
JBalvin talks about Colombian youth and does not recognize the fight of the Colombian youth for a better country. Such a platform to talk about how hard it Is for him to talk about politics and as always just say nothing. Trevor, please make a note about the Colombian conflict!!!!
he is not a politician but he is COLOMBIAN he should use his voice for the ones that can't be heard right now. I like his music but he is a coward for not speaking out for his country
Sad to see him talk about himself for 6 minutes and about the Colombia situation for 30 seconds. We need better representatives. #NosEstanMatandoEnColombia
How ironic -and disappointing-: On the same night you guys claim that one can't ignore taking a position in the face of disproportionate state violence... you also interview the guy who does not position himself while those "new generations" are shot on colombian streets by the police, just because he doesn't wanna lose a certain group of fans (although in previous times he has certainly claimed "respect" for Alvaro Uribe).
Please, Trevor, speak up about the protests and human rights violations in Colombia! More than a month now, violence continues and the government blocks a real dialog... #SOSColombia
She still does. I’m full Colombian with a bunch of Tia’s who have the same accent she does. She represents too. Same with Shakira. José is showing another side and all of them are beautiful.
Trevor, you asked the wrong Colombian about context. Nothing he said really depicts the situation my fellow countrymen and women are going through. Your program is incredibly political, yet you got the most lukewarm apolitical response ever.
It's understandable that he doesn't wanna talk about politics as an artist, everyone in Colombia knows what political side he's on, which is respectable, but he should at least condemn police violence in Colombia. Shakira did. It's not a political thing, it's a human thing. Protesters are being murdered!
This is the first time I feel disappointed in the daily show. What a bad time to pick such a narcissistic, misogynistic, shallow, ignorant person, with zero social empathy. The Colombian people is now going through horrible human right abuses; dozens of protesters have been murdered by the police during the last days demonstrations against the government. Why not talking about that instead of presenting this trivial interview?
He didn't speak because in Colombia, if you are a famous artist like he is, you must be involved with the powerfull and linked in some way with drUg T4fiking. It's also a lie, he is from a middle income family in Medallo, not from the hood, that just a facade to sell a victimized history that help him became richer.

Nothing real about the current situation in Colombia...that’s what should really be discussed right now. El pueblo está sufriendo!
