To everyone criticizing Adam for partnering with sponsorships and adding CNC capabilities, remember two things. 1. Every generation of tradesman must adapt to new technologies. I guarantee his dad and grandfather would be proud of his adaptations. 2. It is the American dream to create something while making a living doing it. This is exactly what Adam has accomplished.
I understand the hobby machinist missing his old, homegrown material. Give Adam some time for the new shop to get settled in, and I'm confident that there will be a return to the original content that attracted us to his channel to begin with.

I used to work for a big CNC machine company that made machines around this size. You may have issues with extra flexing of the the frame when doing heavier machining, which comes out in waviness in the parts due to expansion joints in the concrete floor. Our bigger machines sometimes needed their own dedicated concrete pad. Sometimes the pad went pretty deep too.

Guys let’s be honest clearly Adam worked out a deal with Flex to have this as some kind of a promotional machine. He did not once mention that he purchased it. If he did he would definitely let that be known. I’d guess Adam’s promotion of the flex tap arms went very very well and they decided to take another venture together.

They were controlled by an optical head that would follow a silhouette pattern and cut the same shape using multiple cutting torches from steel plate. This was retrofitted with a Burney NC controller and Hypertherm plasma torches. I used to program it using straight G-code transferred with 1" paper tape generated with a teletype terminal. I enjoy these videos, and Adam is one hell of a machinist. I hope he doesn't get himself into trouble by taking on too many financial obligations like shop rent equipment loans etc., shop rent and equipment payments come up quick. Equipment like that needs to earn its keep and its hard keeping up with it all as an owner operator. I'd hate to see anything bad happen to him.

Amazing machine ... but you sure you have work for it? I have various CNC mills and routers and that is like a heavy duty router for steel .. I can imagine it being useful for say drilling batches of steel beams ... or aerospace stuff, 3D milling of wing spars for example ... but I'll be honest, I am struggling to see it fit into your usual jobs ...

@@summerforever6736 Why is promotion 'just'..;)? Promotion is a big deal. Yeah will guess Flexit owns the machine. It's like a 150K and up piece of equipment as I understand. Adam is first of into teaching folks via this channel, not mainly manufacture things which one need to do fulltime if owning such a machine. I got nothing against this setup at all. It's a win-win situation, to the companies, Adam, and viewers, possible customers who want to see more how the equipment works
