    I've got to say: I've watched a lot of high performance cars and motorcycles take the ring via an onboard view and it's not always the fastest or most extreme performance vehicles that catch my eye. The rider of this bike is truly skilled and is a pleasure to watch. He makes it look easy, but as far as I'm aware, someone riding at this pace probably has a lot of experience. His use of the handlebars, brakes, and shifter is beautiful. Really impressed.

      @droceretik 6 років тому +1

      Well you wouldn't want to be a "scaredy-cat" but his riding has little to do with testosterone producing steel testicles. It's more to do with riding skills, correct technique, course memory after hundreds of laps and confidence from all of the above. It also has a lot to do with self control to stay within the boundaries of his and the bike's ability. The bike is clearly well maintained and properly serviced, fitted with the best tyres, hydraulic fluids and the engine is well tuned. To ride Nurburgring by your balls and not your head is inviting death.

    • @droceretik
      @droceretik 5 років тому

      Nothing to do with the size of testicles. If it was only testosterone and adrenaline he would be dead very quickly. It has everything to do with practice, acquired skills, course knowledge, bike preparation, tyre selection and riding at 9/10ths on a tourist day. No stupid risks, knowing his and his machines limits and staying within them plus a little left over for mistakes and unpredicatability of other drivers. Did you notice that most of the time he was short shifting 500 rpm before the redline. Remember, this is 35 seconds short of the unofficial Bridge to Gantry record set by a rider on an R1. The official Bridge to Bridge road bike record is held by Helmut Dahne on a Honda RC30 750 cc V4 in 1993. It is estimated that 30 seconds should be added to the BTG time to give an equivalent full course time of 7 min 40 seconds. This makes this lap by Murtanio 8 min 15 seconds for the full course. Helmut Dahne was a German roadrace champion and world class racer specialising in production racing. Given that the bikes of the early 90's had about half the power of current bikes, a current racer on a top production bike could be expected to lap in about 7 min 20 for the full course and 6 min 50 for BTG. Murtanio is a quick road bike rider but compared to top production or Isle Of Man racers, he would be well down the field.See his video where another rider eats him. It's called "You think you are fast then this happens"

      Gotta factor in that the speedo is showing 10+ kph over actual speed at those lean angles because of the smaller diameter of the tires.
      You can notice it clearly at those corners, when he leans fully speedo is at 230 then as he lean up again, ever though he is accelerating it drop to around 220 as he goes up on the middle of the tire again.
      You can also hear it in the RPM. Shoots up when ever he leans.
      Still though.. To even get the idea to LEAN OFF the bike at 200+ is insane and I only hope I will be able to do it someday.

      + Stuart Campbell - I looked up the UK British sport bike championship. Only two comparable classes show up. British Super Sport shows no 6-time champ. British Superbike shows only one 6-time champ, and that's Shane Byrne. I'm sure someone of his caliber has better things to do. If you are who you say you are, then prove it. Sit in front of your computer and log into UA-cam. That way we can see your actual account. Then, pan up to your face. Then, show us your trophy room. If you've won 6 titles, then you have a full trophy room. Then, mount your bike at the 'Ring and show us how it's done. Again, I'm sure that Shane Byrne has better things to do than to boast about 6 titles. If the UK British sport bike series is legit, then send me a link. Still possible to use someone's name and say it's you. Can't really tell unless you do a UA-cam live video of your trophies. At least come up with a believable lie.

    I usually am critical of youtube comments, since a lot of people don't know what they're talking about.
    But in this case, every praise this man gets is truly worthy.
    Experience is the main reason of why I think he's as good as the people say he is. Going 80mph on a straight line is already exhausting, but this guy kept it fast and collected, throughout the entire course, whether it be straights or curves. He also respects the track and drivers, wherein he doesn't *FORCE* the need to overtake a vehicle, rather he practices the proper etiquette required in riding (which is what's most lacking in a lot of motorcycle riders). He handles the bike as if he was moving is own limbs, the amount of control and finesse this guy has is way above your decent driver.
    What squids don't know is, is that speed is not determining factor whether you are good at riding or not, since speed is for a large part, controlled by your bike, what determines your performance, is the way you control your bike.
    Just want to point out, that in those twisties and curves, it's not as easy as this guy makes it seem. You're driving a heavy bike (compared to lower cc's), and you drive that curve, first instinct of yours is "damn I'm going to fall, better hit the break", and that instinct of yours will cause you to land down on dirt/pavement. Truly, just a tiny bit of hesitation on those parts will cause your downfall, and it takes experience and skill to hit those, just like this dude.
