I've simply rotated the keeper around, so the 2 pins are on the inside, where there are no holes to line up with. This way it's easier to slide the strap in, and I can pull it to the end of the strap to eliminate the overhang.
The Bluetooth function is great to keep the time updated, BUT if you have the light set to auto, every time the bluetooth disconnects, the auto light function turns off. So if you like that function, every time you have to go in to the settings, and turn it back on. It's quiet frustrating for me, since I like the auto light function.... The watch software can be updated through the G-Shock app, so hopefully they'll fix that issue.
Besides that, it's a great watch! I like the world time display, and with a single push of a button, it can show the sunrise/sunset.

I’ve had my GBX-100 for a few months now and the extra bit on the end of the strap drove me nuts for the first week or so. It really put a damper on my experience with the watch that I loved otherwise. Something so obvious and simple dawned upon me about the extra bit of strap. I could just move the keeper down a bit. The keeper does not have to be locked in with the tabs or positioned on the last bit with locking tabs on the strap. Just move it down and it takes up the floppy end of the strap. It doesn’t slip in either direction. So obvious yet it took me all of a week or so to move the keeper half a inch over.

thanks Capt S and welcome to the channel, yes sometimes those simple things get lost as we focus on the complex LOL ended up selling mine and using the funds towards the 5000U and i'm kinda glad i did as that watch is a keeper!!

@@thetimebombardier Thank you for the warm welcome. I absolutely was focused on the complex solution and could not see the obvious solution which was quite embarrassing when I excitedly told my wife I figured it out. She looked at me unimpressed. Lol. Congrats on the 5000U!

I've had my 5600 (with gold buttons and buckle.....not sure why??) since 2009 and I still love how it looks and it's been so reliable. Installing huge cables for a living it's had some bashes and abuse but still works 100%. I have only replaced the facia as the rubber became brittle and fell apart. Love these videos👍

Looking at GBX-100 only for the additional feature of interval timer and step counter. I can still skip the stepcounter but interval timer is crucial to me and GBX-100 is the cheapest Gshock square to have one.

I have both the gbx100 and dw5600bb-1 and I gotta disagree with the strap info. The dangling part might be annoying for some but the gbx's strap feels so much more comfortable to wear, so much that the size was never the problem for me. I brought it with me to the gym everyday and never had any issue with it.

Hi TV welcome to the channel mate and thanks for the feedback 😎👍 i've been wearing the gbd200 now for a few months and oddly the strap length is way better for me, must be a wrist size thing 😅😅

Good Video, Thank you, My pick is 5610 for the same reasons, solar and multiband 6. I really really want the GBX but no solar is causing and issue.. but damn that display is insane... have you done the Bluetooth for time-sync on it at all? My ani-digi solar Gravitymaster has that, perfect sync 4 times a day via the app.. I was a skeptic at first but have slowly appreciated it. Thanks again for the video, welcome back.

hey James, thanks as always for your feedback and yeah i tried the app but don't use it too often as i find it keeps great time anyway, but reckon when the battery starts to wobble then the sync will be super useful!

I've had a gbx 100 for a few months now and agree 100% about the flap being quite annoying at times. The display is the best thing. Also, i get a lot of use out of the notifications..I find that works really well. The Stopwatch and the horrible activity thing need a redesign imo.

I'm shopping for my first g-shock since teen-hood. And you put together everything I'd thought of while researching. Chief of them being the great, large insta-read digital clock screen of the GBX100. Casio ! Leave that, and the chassis exactly as is.

Thanks dude and yes it's the strength of this watch, they have a new gbd 200 coming out in july which has the same mips screen and is kind if a combo between this and the sportier hbd and it looks spot on!! 😎😎

@@thetimebombardier A non-watch aside, my late dad was a Sgt. in the 26thFB of the Royal Canadian Artillery, a militia Regt., before WW2. One of the Pvt.s was Jimmy Doohan. James was hit by an errant Bren gunner on D-Day, my dad just 3 weeks before the wars end in Holland. I was lucky to meet Mr. Doohan at our high Schools 75th reunion in 1996. He flew from Hollywood to be there. He was such a fine, and kind gentleman.
