I have been looking for a way to attach a bunch of cards for a sort of memory journal. This is exactly what I was looking for. I will not be covering the sentiments for this one. But I will cover many other parts and I think even glue some of the really small cards onto the blank back sides. Thanks for this oldie but goodie. Hugs,
Great idea covering the card fronts with tissue paper to take away the sheen. Cool project! Thanks so much. Hinge journals now added to my list of "want to do's" 😃. The list grows with every crafting vid I watch. 😅
Exactly! This is what I've been searching for..I can connect all my Xmas cards without having to make them into signatures and I can keep adding them on as I find more.. I'm starting with one that were my Mom's from the 50s and working my way up to the present day..Thank you and Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄
Oh Amy what a fabulous idea! I love what you made! When my Dad passed away last year and I started going through his things I literally found hundreds of new unused Christmas cards with matching envelopes and stickers … because he donated so much money to charities they sent them to him as thank you gifts! Now I have a good use for at least some of them. Last night I put beef short ribs in the crockpot cooker and poured barbecue sauce over them. You can cook them on low for 6-8 hours or half that time on high. So easy, we had salad and pasta with them, sooo good. Leftover meat can be sliced thin and rolled in soft taco shells with all the fixings. I have tons of quick easy recipes. 😊😊😊🌮🍔🥩🌭
You worked so fast and hard while paying attention to details!! An artist for sure. I will certainly be doing this. Thanks and blessings from Betty in Ohio.
Hi Amy! Love the color blue on the digital, has the cold effect. My eldest granddaughter is into paper, pads, pens, etc, thats what she wants for Christmas, I asked her your sure you don’t want a doll, nope. I was the same way, give me art supplies and I was happy. She even made a junk journal on her own without my help, she’s 6. She loves all my supplies, takes over the craft room, which I love. It would be nice to make one out of premade ephemera, great idea. Happy for your daughter and her project. I decorate our 7 1/2 foot tree by myself, takes 2 days to complete, so I hear ya. Have a nice evening. 👍🎄🎄🎄😻
Yes it does! Thank you so much Pat. That is so awesome about your granddaughter. What lovely memories you two will have with your crafting time together.❤️Amy
I love this idea! I am going to make it for sure! We love ground beef cooked in spaghetti sauce and over potatoes or noodles. Very simple and easy to make.
Awesome way to use our Sentimental Christmas Cards!!! Great idea Amy!! Love the tissue idea too!! I’ve missed you!! I’ve watched all your videos!! Thank you so much for your prayers! Big Hugs & Blessings my Sweet & Precious Friend!!❤️❤️❤️
Hi. Making everyone give me their Christmas Cards when it’s over! When I was a teen worked at D’Angelos and they had a stir Fry pocket. I make at home, Sauté chicken, peppers, onions, mushrooms all together, throw in American Cheese and serve in a pita pocket/syrian bread pocket. You can use any veggies you like. I try not to use fresh bread as it is to soft and can fall apart easy. If your like us and love cheese I also line my pocket with cheese. Wicked yummy! Thank you for sharing. X-Susan
Great idea for that huge box in my closet of keepsake cards from grandkids, husband, etc. I think I will make one for my stepmother and fill with photos of my grandchildren. And then all those valentine and anniversary cards and add photo of my husband and I. I think I would want to look through them more in a hinge journal. Thanks for the inspiration Amy! Take care.😘😘
I have hundreds of cards and planned to do some kind of journal with them this year as only few peeps actually want to receive cards. This is a very cute idea and not a lot of work. I might just go for it.
Easy breakfast casserole is super simple. Roll out a can of croissants on the bottom of a casserole baking dish. No need to grease the pan. Add cooked sausage or bacon and then add 6 to 7 beaten eggs and top with shredded cheese. You can add what ever you like. Bake it at 350 for 20 min or until the middle is not “eggy”. We love it and it’s quick. Hope you give it a try. Ps. I love fried potatoes with it. 🙂
What a great idea! The hinge holding cards together looks easy. I''ve been wondering how to put a simple journal together without having to do a lot of fancy binding.
Shepards Pie is easy. Ground beef, cooked carrots, peas, onions, mushrooms, whatever u like. I use a can of beef broth to make a gravy. Casserole dish, top w mashed potatoes and bake till hot
I make Mac and cheese box mix and add Chilli to that. So good Chillimac. Spaghetti, sometimes I get the pre made hamburgers cook them all up and feed my hubby for a week on burgers, baked potatoes loaded. Cheese, mushrooms, chill, tomatoes, broccoli pieces, sour cream bacon and butter. I'm getting hungry. ❤️💯😋
What an EXCELLENT idea for old cards! And I have LOTS of them thanks to the thrift store. Not just holiday cards. But, all kinds of cards. Thank you for sharing this!! OK... Dinner... I don't know what it's called. I know there is a name for it. It's pretty easy. ~One chicken breast per person - Butterfly sliced. ~Thinly sliced Black Forest Ham (it's easier with large slices, if you can get them from a deli) ~Shredded or cubed cheese, preferably something with a mild bite (Vermont Cheddar, aged Swiss, etc - pick one... Or two!) ~Seasonings and bread crumbs You'll want to bake this in a pretty large rectangular dish. Rinse chicken and pat dry. Place a piece of ham flat on a surface (cutting board, plate... what ever you have). Place the open (flat) chicken breast on the ham. Put lots of cheese on the chicken breast BUT, LEAVE ENOUGH ROOM TO ROLL IT UP. Roll the ham, chicken and cheese as tightly as you can without tearing the meat and put a toothpick in it to hold it shut. Put the breasts in the baking dish as you roll them up. Sprinkle a little of the cheese on top, maybe some dried bread crumbs and seasoning to taste (salt, Basil, pepper, Garlic, etc.) . Cover with foil. You will want to remove the foil for about the last 10 - 15 minutes of cooking, until the bread crumbs and cheese start turning golden brown. Cook at 425 for about an hour, give or take. Serve with salad or a veggie. Take care! :)
Amy, it doesn’t matter what you do, you always leave wishing that you were creating the journal for me. I truly am going to have to try to make on of these hinged journals. You are so creative...truly an amazing artist. Hope you have a great week. Know that I will be looking forward to your next video. Hugs 🤗 Your friend Cindy from a small town in Northern Ontario Canada 🇨🇦 ❤️❤️❤️
What a great idea! I love these hinge journals. Just seen Ali make one with your digital kits it is beautiful. I am now off to buy Christmas cards..... Sue x x x
Love this idea Amy! You got me thinking of lots of other ideas. I totally agree and sympathize , I’m definitely uninspired these days with cooking. Love this time of year for soups and stews I’ll send some recipes to you that are good and simple too. Take care 💕😀
One of my new favorite recipes is meatballs in the air fryer! I know your husband doesn't eat beef but I'm sure you could do turkey. Mine is hamburger, italian sausage, italian seasonings to your taste, sour cream (as a substitute for egg, milk, and bread crumbs) and parmesan cheese. Mix all your ingredients, form your meatballs (I did mine on the larger size) and then place in your air fryer for 8 min. Pause and turn, cook for 4 more min. Just until evenly browned all the way around. So my size meatball and my size air fryer basket size I was able to fit 9 in each batch. After they are done then I just put them in spaghetti sauce, covered and heated the sauce on the stove. Within a half hour we had dinner. So good. I don't think I will ever do meatballs any other way. They turn out perfect. I hope after all this you have an air fryer. If not maybe that is one Christmas idea for someone. I got mine last year from my kids. I love it. Thanks for sharing. I always love your hinge journals. Great idea to use greeting cards. I actually like washi tape so cheap cards are a good excuse to use it. Thanks again.
Great idea for Christmas? Ask for an Instant Pot! There’s a great IP Facebook group with fast easy recipes! I used to have the same issues about what to fix but no more! I even have 2 so I can cook my meal in 1 and dessert in the other. Usually 5-10 min prep & done! p.s. I used cheap boxed cards and found cracking. I started scoring on the opposite side to stretch the paper and it fixed the problem.
ok I’ll use cards I get in the mail....all 3 of the them. 😇I don’t know anyone who send Christmas cards by post anymore. Mostly via internet. Walmart price very good but dollar stores much better price. And thrift stores as low as 3 for $.25 including envelopes. I make envelope folios from charity store shopping.🦌💌🙏
Loaded chicken and potatoes Chicken breast, cubed Potatoes, cubed Salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, hot sauce if you want 400, for an hour, stir every 20 mins Too with shredded cheese, crumbled bacon, and sliced green onions, bake till melted, I never have leftovers
It may be kind of coals to Newcastle but how about home made Mac n Cheese with bacon. Basic white sauce, grated cheese, mustard powder, bacon pieces and macaroni or similar pasta.
Luv the idea and your creativity, but if I can be honest, I had to turn off the sound because your cutting blade and other noises in the background were too much.

Thank you, this works great and you can do it with cards or paper folded in half. Blessings, Amy💕

Maybe moistening the seams the first time you bend them would help the fibers stretch?
Maybe. Thank you,Amy💕
