He seems to know madness, feels at ease while portraying it, uses his own idiom and let's the mind wander in dark places. Love it.

It’s not up to SNL at all, NBC sells the spots, all of the skits that are “cut for time” fit into one particular spot, and is dependent on how long the live portion of the show goes, some skits like this one are prerecorded but most of it is live, and that determines if these skits air or not. Plus like I said, NBS sells the commercial time, I’m sure if up to SNL they would air all the skits
