Great idea about the maps, was just thinking that same thing when you said "a viewer..." lol (don't forget you could also just show the area on Google maps). Another video idea; I was looking around the Lake Chapala area at the many towns/cities all the way around the lake, if and when you can, you & Lynn could tour around and show us all just a little bit about each town. I realize it's not a small lake (I live in a city on Lake Simcoe in Ontario Canada, so I understand the size.) but that should give you lots to do!! Really enjoy your "down to earth", not "hyped up" videos. You have inspired me to want to make a trip in the future to the Lake Chapala area. Thank you. Maybe consider Affiliate links (think that's what they are called) for the items you use and review. Could help pay for the gas!!
Love to see the tour video's and the map was a bonus.Congrats of the sponsorship goodies. I wonder if Calvin could eat soup with one chop stick? It's gotta be quite a feat using two!
Great Intro, congratulations on the product endorsements. I like to see where the regular people live. If i move to Mexico, I will probably be living within the community. Look at that ceiling! Very cool. Had to stop the video and take another look. I like those old walled places. Great story, and the map works. Thanks.
Interesting video as always! I love all the blooming growth hanging on the walls, so beautiful!! Thanks for the tour, and congratulations on the awesome arrival & unboxing of your first future review package.
Hey Jerry, when I move to Mexico, I will still have to file income tax returns annually in the US. I imagine I will have to show an address in the US? I will not have a house/property in the US. What do other expats do? Thanks for all the great info!
I saw some you tubes from full time RVers about this. There are many companies that provide this service. Some you tubers even say why establishing your domicile in certain states has a tax advantage. Depends on your circumstances. Seems to me Texas might be best.
You will not have to show a US address. You can be a foreign resident. You are correct that you will file US taxes no matter where in the world you live. There are other reasons to have a US address ... credit card billing addresses for instance. Texas and South Dakota are popular domiciles because they have no State income tax. Google America's MailBox in South Dakota. The Ishop place I talked about in this video can give you a Texas address.
@@JCTravelStories I am thinking of Nevada as they have no state income tax and my son lives there. I may move there temporarily to establish residency there before permanently moving to Mexico. Then I can legally claim that as my last address in the US. From what I have read, they could ask for proof of residency when claiming a move like that.
Dios mio - you left me laughing out loud. You are such a great story-teller. I love your stories. So good to see Lynn feeling better. Thanks for the tour. I love the tours, and I love that they are the "real" tour, not just some fancy part. It's the real Mexico, and that's fine. Had to laugh at the postal store not being open yet. You know that no one gets in a hurry to open, lol. Thanks for the great and fun tour. Yes, please do just keep driving around. There really is no end to all the places you can take us. Maybe one day you and Lynn will go stay in Guadalajara for a day or two - hint hint, ;-)) But really, anywhere is fine. I love your driving around ordinary places.
Awesome chopstick story. I was a kiddo on Guam during the Viet Nam war. Becoming self-aware there, I was the minority. Funny how much of the less developed world often still has a well developed sense of humor. Hey, I noticed looking on Google Maps that lots of homes seem to have solar hot water and solar electricity. Do the solar electricity systems help will that bill much, since it seems like electricity there is pretty cheap?
Actually, electricity here can be very expensive. Its a tiered system. High kilowatt users can pay 4 times as much as the lower consumers. Solar makes more and more sense as the cost comes down. Short of several years of recouping the cost, it may just give you green bragging rights.
You are a good story taller. I enjoyed what was on your mind today. Keep the stories and the travel around the area coming. I look forward to them. Muchas gracias. Say hi to your sweet wife. Thanks again.
The visual of trying to picture you standing at the ironing board...iron in one hand...wrinkled open map in the other; it paints a rather humorous image. I can only imagine what your housekeeper (or groundskeeper) must have thought watching the gringo trying to iron paper. lol They probably think white people are nuts! : D
White people are nuts! Here's an ironing tip for you. You can iron US dollars to make them crisp if you've had them wadded up in your pocket, or fall in the pool and get your money clip wet. Yes, I know this for sure, but don't try it with Mexican pesos. They're plastic. :)
I would be very interested in buying a motorhome and traveling around are there campgrounds or somewhere that you can park them and stay for a little while like a week or two?
Heck, narratives before the tour, street map tracings to get the lay of the land, voice-overs for much of the tour commentary and even product unboxings with reviews to follow? You are getting dangerously close to mainstream and professional in this channel! :-) It was nice to see your co-pilot in life was there with you in the car, still smiling while recovering from her cracked rib. It is clear she is not always fond of the attention as she often tries to shoo you away whenever the camera points in her direction, but still wonderful to see her whenever she puts in an appearance. Really enjoyed the chopstick story. You should insist that your son-in-law take you out for some tasty Korean bulgogi the next time you are visiting family in the U.S. That is very thinly sliced rib-eye or sirloin broiled with a very tasty Korean style barbecue marinade/sauce. I am not really fond of other Korean foods but bulgogi is the bomb and most forms of kimchi are pretty darn good too. I can hardly wait until you get the bracket with double suction cups, just to see if it will really hold and thus prove reliable. I must say that you always seem to keep your channel interesting.
My son in law ... a now my daughter also, are very good Korean cooks. That meat, lettuce wraps, kimchi soup ... its a wonderful feast when we visit their home. :)
Were planning on retiring to mexico and most likely the PV area. Any worries about your BMW getting stolen? You probably dont leave it out overnight but the possibility is still there to go missing anytime during the day? We have a hard enough time with our vehicles in the States. Got to make sure they're always locked with alarms on. Enjoy your nod to Paul Harvey with your "rest of the story".
Hi JC, thank you so much for your wonderful and informative videos. We watched a video several months ago stating if your a US citizen and live in Mexico permanently (don't know how long) and interested in becoming a citizen of Mexico and not yet applied for US . Sol Security is possible to get Mexican Social Security. (US is much less money because of health issues ) After you have lived Mexico so long. Do you know if this is at all true? Whould so appreciate your comment to this question. Thanks again !
First I've ever heard of that. Sounds fishy. First, I would not believe that Mexicans get more SS than US taxpayers. Second, why would the country of Mexico care if you get US benefits or not? Third why would Mexico give any one a pension that did not work in Mexico. Makes no sense to me.
Hi JC, what a beautiful day there and here, for about the past week rain clouds and some rain, the sun could only give us a peak. We have plans to go to lunch and have Mexican food today.
I am an Amazon Affiliate and have several links in the description of my videos. Last month I made $16 USD !!! Need more clicks there. :)
Oops! Sorry Jerry, apparently I need to read the description, not just watch the video! I'll check out the links, Thanks
Good morning JC!
Thanks for the tour! Can't wait to get back.
Thanks for the ride! And thanks for showing the MAP. That was very helpful.
So nice to hear from you again. Hope your feeling better and always enjoy your videos. Cheers dude🍻 Stay Blessed😄
JC, you are just awesome! Love your videos! Please keep them coming.
Love the color of your living/family room walls! I want to do shades of lavender in my bedroom.
Please tell me where I can order one of those wonderful maps?? I have tried everything but can’t find one.
I've had it for years. Got it for free from Ajijic Realty on Colon. Don't know if they have them anymore,.
You are a good story taller. I enjoyed what was on your mind today. Keep the stories and the travel around the area coming. I look forward to them. Muchas gracias. Say hi to your sweet wife. Thanks again.
BEAUTIFUL town, does every town have such pretty squares?
Yes, every town has a pretty central plaza near the church. :)
Stephanie ... My last video was about a new RV park here. Check my channel. There's another RV park review also.
Enjoying these local travels and family stories, as always. Getting off the main streets is fun! The map is also a definite thumbs up!
The BMW is cute, but its old. Not worth much really. Car thieves are smart. They don't waste their time. :)
@@JCTravelStories So kind of you to respond back fast. We thought it sounded fishy as well.
Great video Jerry! You can use an external mic to reduce external noise
Pronounced "tuh lie uh cup on"... easy 😊
I-shop.....maybe?
I would say i shop mail.
I would have also if they conformed to the standard iShop, not ishop. What's this .... iphone? Is that if one ? :)
Hi JC, what a beautiful day there and here, for about the past week rain clouds and some rain, the sun could only give us a peak. We have plans to go to lunch and have Mexican food today. Nice story about the chop sticks and enjoyed the ride to pick up your package, it's like paying double for mail when picking it up in those mail box places, but maybe a good thing too. Hello to Lynn have a wonderful day.☕️🌻 P.S. Checking out what you received in the mail and how they work out. Thank you!
Thank you for showing the map - it certainly helped to get an idea where you were driving - and as I read in some of the other comments I'm not the only one who likes this new feature ;c)
How is the conditions for 2 retired woman coming to Mexico to retire? And would you suggest staying in a RV or rent full time?
Condidtions are great. RV or rent????? Personal choice. My first three years (6 months at a time) here I came in an RV and put it in storage and rented just for a change of experience.
Thanks for showing us the map.
Glad to see Lynn feels much better.
Nice to see the girls helping their father to scale the fish.
1:27 Good car parking skills btw, LOL 😁
