I've had my bulls evo2 for 4 months with the smart system and i've had 2 error messages so far, one shut down the bike while riding. New is not always better.
Hi thanks for watching our video and commenting. In answer to your question, although both the System2 and the Smart System motors share the same casing and hardware, the software on the smart system motors have changed some of the torque and peak power outputs. For instance the Performance Line motor has increased torque from 65nm to 75nm. The Active Line Plus has remained at 50Nm torque, however, the peak power has increased from 415w to 600w. However, the Performance Line CX motor is identical between both generations. Overall the motor performance changes are relatively minimal, there are some differences between the two generations. Check out Bosch's website for further details. www.bosch-ebike.com/en/products/the-smart-system
And presumably the "smart" system is there to stop derestricting the bikes..... "spy" may be more appropriate- it'll log everywhere you've been and at what speed and AI will determine if you're legal...Uploading to strava too, bet that means you can't go out and do a KOM and piss off the "real bikers" by mimicking their average speeds just slightly better lol
the gen four cx already had software to detect destricting , but , so the update may be a new system to detect those destructors that were able to defeat the original system of detection .
I’m done with them. Whatever I choose to do with my bike after i bought it should be left between me and my country’s traffic laws. Bosch is also THE ONLY ebike motor company that go to such lengths to punish their customers, even the legit ones with untouched motors are getting false positives and it’s just pathetic
It does seem that there has been some sort of breakdown in communication between Bosch and some of the bike manufacturers. It’s possible Bosch produced the extenders last minute (in response to the growing demand for them) and manufacturers had already designed their bikes without planning on a range extender. Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment.
Bosch has lost me and i was a customer for years. The fact that there’s software running in the background that could throw errors and kill the motor assistance without warning for whatever reason terrifies me. There are reports of people getting the 504 error through legitimate use, as false positives.. people riding their restricted, lawful bikes being left stranded because of this overzealous shit.. it’s despicable, anti consumer behavior. My next ebike will have a yamaha motor
Hi thanks for the comment. We've not had issues with the app ourselves, but we would be really interested to hear what issues you were having? Cheers Jason
Bosch are a trash company, their warranties are worthless if you use your bike every day as they do not provide courtesy bikes & repairs take weeks or months. May as well throw your bike away & buy another.
We’re sorry to hear that you have had issues with Bosch. We’re an authorised Bosch service centre, as well as being a service centre for most of the other well known motor manufacturers. From our experience Bosch are a significantly better company to deal with than their competitors. Their motors are more reliable and replacement parts normally come quickly (even during Covid). I’m not questioning your experience of them, it does sound like you’ve had a frustrating time, I’m just letting you know our experience. I hope Bosch got everything sorted for you. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.
Had mine for 6 months now . Zero issues
Difficult to connect heartband, a friend of mine but one and had to use the apple smartwatch to show heart info.

What were the errors?
They've just added an update so you can now customise emtb and tour+ modes.
Thanks, Jason! Appreciate that. - Toby
You forgot to include that new Smart System does not support 2 batteries, which bikes like the Tern GSD have on the System 2.
Thanks for that!
But are the motors performance actually the same?

Smart Systems supports range extenders, but bike manufacturers are blocking them. For this price, it's a total sh!t show.

The flow app is absolutely useless.

I have had know issues with the Flow app, it works as it should, 6000 + miles

So who's warranty will provide a courtesy bike and repairs take days?
@@runawayronnie the bikes cost more than a used car so yes they should provide courtesy bikes & repairs should be done fast. Bosch are useless.
