    I've been waiting for a Rise with the current LT geo, and now it's even available with 85 Nm... No more excuse, this is the one. Yeah, Bosch SX might be more reliable, but this is a proven design as well, with clattering etc on the known negatives side, but it's quite good.

    I walked into a bike shop and was shown this bike, I liked it but was expensive. My gut feeling, I was paying for the brand name. I did 1 weeks worth of research and brought a Focus jam2 6.7 for $400 dollars more and it's incredible.

    • @ebikecentre
      @ebikecentre 10 днів тому

      The Bosch SX is an excellent motor. However, we have found that the mid power e-bikes with around 50-60Nm have not been as popular as manufacturers expected. I personally love mid-power mid-weight but it appears most of the market wants full-power hence the new Rise having the full 85Nm motor. Orbea are hoping to find the sweet spot between full power and “lighter” weight. Thanks for watching and commenting.

    Why is this the same...very same, bike that's in a dozen other UA-cam review videos? Having the bike for a day or two, is not enough for a review. That's the issue with UA-cam marketing. It's more of a car commercial. Telling us all-the-good. Reserving any of the bad. And e-bikes, have a-lot of bad. Butif ya can afford to pay 10 grand for a bicycle, problems are just not a consideration. Right?

    • @ebikecentre
      @ebikecentre 17 днів тому

      I’ve got to say, you’re very observant, it is the very same bike in all the early UK review videos. That’s because it was the first Rise LT in the UK, so we all had to wait our turn for it. I disagree with you regarding that only having the bike for a day or two doesn’t give you time to make a judgement about a bike. Of course having it for an extended period is better and will allow you to do a more in depth review of the bike. Unfortunately, when a bike has just been released we do not have that luxury. However….. we do now have a couple of Rise LTs for an extended test and we will be releasing an extended test video in the near future. Thanks for taking the time to watch the video and comment, we do appreciate the feedback. Jason

    It looks amazing and I want one, but let's be honest, E-Bike prices are out of control. You can buy a decent used Nissan Leaf EV Car with a 200km range for the same prices as this bike. Even Decathlon take basic £200 Shopper bikes" and charge £1200 for the E version. Swytch Bikes sell Electric conversions for £500, and presumably they are making a few hundred quid on that (You even get a free front wheel included in that price). As an engineer I just can't see where that huge extra E-Bike cost is coming from. I'm buying a Nissan Leaf all day long (actually I have one already).

    The maximum weights are total gross weight (inclduing the bike itself). So the 210KG (on road) and 160KG (off-road) max weights need the weight of the bike subtracting to get driver+payload limit. This hasnt stopped me getting an Orox, but it caught me out with my R&M Multi Charger - which led to a number of broken spokes.

    Fiido air carbon fibre 13kg, Fiido e-gravel 18kg, Nokourban 14.2 Kg. These are cheaper, have longer range and are lighter than those on this video. Any reason why these aren't included?

    • @ebikecentre
      @ebikecentre 10 днів тому

      Hi Paul, our apologies for the delay in getting back to you. Thank you very much for watching and taking the time to comment. Fiido are not a brand that we have had any dealings with, so I couldn’t pass judgement on them. However, looking at the specifications online, their battery sizes are smaller than all of the bikes on this list (208wh vs 250wh on the Momentum, which has the smallest battery on our list), so I would anticipate that their ranges stated are slightly unrealistic. (They are certainly not the only manufacturers to do this.) The ranges we quote are from experience with the bikes using mixed modes, surfaces and topography. From what I can see of the bikes, they’re very competitively priced BUT, this goes hand in hand with the quality of the components used. I’m not saying they are bad bikes, I can’t judge something I haven’t seen/ridden, but their components are of lower grade and than the bikes on this list. Thanks again for watching and for being the Fiido bikes to our attention.

    Splendid video. So many have been waiting and needing this! An offroad cargo ebike that can carry heavy weight for long distance is what all campers and outdoors enthusiasts have been waiting for. This opens up a whole new market for ebike manufacturers. The video we all really need and want to see next is its loaded capacity of 390 in its offroad environment. This is what we have been waiting for for so long. The performance of max load offroad is what this new market should be showing and improving on. 😊

    • @ebikecentre
      @ebikecentre Місяць тому

      Thank you very much for the feedback and for taking the time to watch the video. As you say, it really is a great bike for campers & outdoor enthusiasts. Steve and I took it out for some trail riding with Steve riding and me as cargo, our combined weight is around 160ish kgs. Although, not its max carrying capacity it did give us some idea of capable the bike and motor were under load. Overall they both coped really well, as mentioned the bike is quite long so not the most nimble, but nothing really will be carrying that sort of load. With me in the back, the weight distribution was quite high, but still the bike performed well. I would expect it to perform better with a more traditional cargo (ie not a person) even if the cargo were heavier, as the centre of gravity would be lower.

      Yep, undoubtedly expensive. If “money’s no object” then it’s an incredible piece of kit, but for most of us it’s worth waiting for the alloy and lower spec carbon models to become available. Ultimately, the high end bling on these bikes is way more than the average rider needs. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment. Jason

    Tempted by both ,it's the head angle that appeals to me a bit more stable , I like shimano don't care about the over run and as for power again I like rs set up.but having the option to increase the power for big climbs ,great .

    • @ebikecentre
      @ebikecentre 2 місяці тому

      Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment. They are both great options. The LT is arguably the more versatile, if you ride with owners of with enduro style bikes (like the Levo, Wild etc) and with other mid-power or non-electric riders. The addition of the (incredibly easy to use) flip chip means you can make head angle adjustments whilst out on the trails. For me, I generally ride cross country and trail so the SL is perfect for my needs. (I wouldn’t say no to an LT though!) I love the RS tuned motors. I prefer their natural feel to the Bosch/Yamaha etc motors. The RS+ version now means that you can pretty much keep up with the big hitting CX, Mag-S and PW-X3 motors, but maintain the natural feel and cadence of the old RS.

    The SL for me as well with the small battery. I already have the new M-team Orbea Wild and the LT is too close to the wild

      A great choice. As you say, the LT does overlap the Wild slightly, so you would have two very similar bikes. The M-Team Wild is a cracking bike! Thank for watching and taking the time to comment. Jason

      @@ebikecentreI had a go on the New Wild MTeam yesterday ( I have the 2021 Rise M10) I then had a go on the Mondraker Dune RR….. my thoughts after was There’s no reason to buy the Wild , it weighs a ton , yes it’s got good travel, lots of power but in my opinion the Rise or Dune are both better , I know people will disagree but honestly I think 65 Nm or 55 Nm on the dune is enough

    Is it not possible to put kickstand and rear carrier on Raleigh at all?

    • @ebikecentre
      @ebikecentre 2 місяці тому

      Yes, there are alternatives that can be fitted the clamp to the rear chain-stay. They are not the cleanest looking option but they will do the job. It’s disappointing that Raleigh didn’t fit kickstand mounting points for a cleaner look. Thanks for taking the time to watch our videos and commenting.

    Hi, i have just tried the orbea wild and the orbea rise (2023). The wild for me was more stable and the bosch 85nm motor gave way more support compared to the more natural ep8 60nm motor of the rise. There was no overrun at all on the rise but somehow that wasnt the only difference. I compared head to head the climbing capabilities and a weaker biker could easily overtake me during longer climbings. (Even an other biker with 50nm yamaha motor could overtake me) The rise somehow tried to exhaust and kill me :). Beside of that i preferred the naturality of the rise. My question is how the new motor is behaving? Is it giving significantly more power? Compared to the bosch systems what do you feel? I am planning to test the 2025 rise before i order it but currently it is not available in my country. It will arrive only after october

      The Wild is a significantly more powerful bike than the Rise (2020-24 RS 60Nm). Orbea tuned that motor in a way that really makes the rider work for the extra power. I personally love that about the Rise but it’s not for everyone. The new 2025 Rise has, in the RS+ mode, significantly more power than the original model. It still requires more rider effort than the Bosch CX motor but the 85Nm EP8 RS is a much closer match to the Bosch than the original. In a straight drag race the Bosch will pull away but not by as much). I completely agree, the Wild is a more stable and predictable bike than the Rise, but the Rise is more playful, agile and nimble. I would strongly recommend trying one when you get a chance. Thank you very much for watching our video and taking the time to comment. Jason

    Smart Systems supports range extenders, but bike manufacturers are blocking them. For this price, it's a total sh!t show.

      It does seem that there has been some sort of breakdown in communication between Bosch and some of the bike manufacturers. It’s possible Bosch produced the extenders last minute (in response to the growing demand for them) and manufacturers had already designed their bikes without planning on a range extender. Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment.

    Is it UK road legal ?, using it for 2 up plus luggage riding would be a struggle for a 250 watt motor.

      Hi, thanks for taking the time to watch and comment on the video. Much appreciated. Yes, the bike meets all UK e-bike regulations and is UK road legal. We found that the Bosch Performance Line CX motor had more than enough power to get us up and down the hills (off road) with two adults on the back. We didn’t laden it with cargo as well, but I don’t expect that it would struggle with the additional load.

      Very true. In our opinion there are far too many illegal rides around the UK but it seems the police force don’t have the man power or inclination to do anything about it. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment.
