  • Welcome to Episode 5! In this episode I continue the theme of fishing skinny water in my canoe for large toothy predators - namely Musky. In this episode I start in a familiar area and boat a beautiful fish but in part 2 of this video I venture to a whole new area that I am unfamiliar with...in fact no one has confirmed that Musky roam in this section...but I am up for the challenge...even if it means getting poured on!

@@sgangling Nah it's not soo bad, we have beautiful northern pike here, up to 47 or 53 inch. 2 or 3 miles from my home here at the Niederrhein we have a really good big lake for pearch and pike. It's a bit more than 30 miles when I want to fish in Holland, so I can't complain 😊 But it would be a dream for me to go for a muskey hunt dude, beautiful underwater dragons.
Whenever you have a chance to visit Germany or Holland look out for our Zander. They're similar to your walleyes or saugers but with beautiful dark stripes instead of dots. Fascinating creatures man.

Good deal advising folks to include bolt cutters among their gear, very important! As you mentioned they (many fish in general, not just muskies) often inhale the bait and require some hook snipping to safely release

Awesome video. Amazing how subtle that first strike was…and I’ve never seen a musky inhale a Topwater like that second one did. Good tip with that electrical tape too,..I was wondering what you were gonna do

Lol I had my motor battery die on an electric only lake a few years back (and of course forgot to throw my oars in) so I had to use my net to get back. Took about an hour and a half to go only about 300-350 yards against the wind lol but at least we landed a few trout along the way.
Anyway thanks for another cool vid man, keep castin'

Hey jaw spreaders are a must have for Muskie fishing. Especially when they choke a bait. You won’t always be able to reach hooks from the gill side. Noticed you mentioned the hook cutters . Just my two cents.

@@sgangling I thought it looked a little familiar. There's some top Water maniacs in that creek!!. I caught a 30 incher in one of my trout streams that dump into the main river. He was up in that cool creek water. I always did think they'd go up in these cool creeks when the river gets real warm. Now I know for sure they go up in em. Especially the bigger creeks that dump into the main river. Cool video and musky bud. Good luck on your future adventures👍🎣🎣

Sometimes I wonder how far one would travel up into these bigger trout streams that dump into the main river when it gets hot as heck out? I know I catch alot of dandy smallies in these trout streams when it gets hot they go up in them creeks too.
