- The HEF 32 is an unmanned helicopter with a two-blade single rotor. Because of its size, weight and capabilities, it creates a class on its own and brings industrial reliability into the lightweight UAV market for the very first time.
Its strength lies in the fact that it weighs less than 25 kg and it will fit in any small van or estate car without any prior disassembly, whilst still being able to easily outperform all electric competitors. It offers flight times up to 4.5 hours even when carrying modest payloads. It never needs a recharge, which means that except for some short refuelling stops, the mission can always continue.
The system operates fully automatic and through nearly all weather conditions. Several sensors are used to improve safety, the pilot's orientation and to aid his navigational capabilities.
A wide variety of options is available to further increase its operational capabilities. Flexible payload interfaces allow the integration of multiple sensors at once. Manned helicopter aviation finally found its first true competitor.

This is what I'm saying doesn't matter how modern your battery you just can't beat fossil fuel. You can refill this thing in less than a minute and it will fly for another 4 hours. No electric can beat that even in 5-10 years time.
Hydrogen might be able to beat this in the future
@@Carbon_ This could be true, but as of the moment there's still no replacement to this. We have heavy lift drones but almost all of them can't even fly for an hour. Also in the field of RC buggies we have amazing inventions in terms of electric can be programmed etc.. but in endurance races nitro or gas is still King. Though I'm really hoping for battery technology to advance further, imagine a DJI drone that can fly 4 hours. LOL

Amazing craft! Hopefully everyone will finally get over this ridiculous love affair with battery-powered everything. I can see this has a custom engine but the RC industry has had gas engines for a long time and nothing beats the flight time and characteristics of a real engine. Thanks for this great video!

Surveillance? Have some option more better and more cheaper...beucause this helicopter are designed for surveillance...very nice UAV from Holland. For use in agriculture try visit Dji website and there you can find drones for this specific job. Greetings from Brasil.
I was thinking the same thing, would make a perfect crop scout! Program camera/computer to spot plant color differences to determine nutrient needs and pest damage.

It's also obvious from the Dutch landscape 0:42 1:40, yellow car plates 1:02 and the Dutch accents and names.
But you are right about the fact that there are many people of Dutch ancestry in south Africa. The language is also somewhat similar to Dutch dialects.

can't see the advantages to a drone concept. Drone is cheaper, easy to manouver and many commercial products available.
Traditional single rotor helicopters are more efficient and handle windy conditions better are faster (the fastest large R/C helicopters can exceed 200mph) and more maneuverable because they use cyclic and collective pitch control instead of thrust control of 4 fixed pitch props. The disadvantage is that a multirotor is mechanically simple while helicopters are mechanically complex. But for performance a helicopter is better.
Make that thing fly fast and use nuclear reactor for it fuel and bye helicopter cops
