Just beautiful pieces, you chose some great lots! Nice to see you and your Mom. I think any of the pieces with Sterling and shell combination are my favorites,, especially the Hobe.
What a great haul! Put a black light on the yellow satin glass necklace. Sometimes they are uranium glass. My favorite piece is the red pressed glass necklace.
I might sell it at some point, I'm going to see if I can find a jewelry to replace the stone. I have some garnet beads, not sure if anybody knows how to cut them old-style. Thanks again!!!
Sandra! What a great haul! Enjoyed watching! My faves are red necklace with pressed or molded glass, yellow beaded 20s or 30s necklace. Maybe older. Also, the Van Dell pin. I especially love the rose gold trim under the beautiful stones. The Judy Lee flower pin is very nice too. The beauty of vintage jewelry is endless. My eyes are never “full”. Lol. The Nativity pin is also lovely. The abstract silver tone is cool and the long more modern black and rust color too!! Oops one more….the varied color stone necklace, which I’m usually not crazy about but this one is high quality. Thanks. 👋 to Mom. Ps. I’m over 80 and I never tire of vintage Jewelry either. I’ve been collecting since 1991.
Wow, that witch's heart! I believe that the green color on the shell is natural. The rough surface of the shell has been ground away and the shell has been highly polished. It would not look like that if you found it in original condition on the beach. The hat badge looks like a hockey stick & pucks. Maybe we just sell the ivory around to each other, over and over. I have some to get rid of too. What an amazing haul!
Hi Sandra, thank you for another great video! So I think I know what the black sequin thing is. It’s worn on the top of the shoulder and the beads will drape down the arm. I did some sleuthing and found out what it’s called. If you google sequin beaded epaulettes you will see some examples. I believe the name comes from a shoulder ornament worn on a military uniform. Love the witch’s heart and the back story. I always learn something new and cool from your videos.
Thanks for telling me that! I wonder if it was worn on the shoulder if they were worn as a pair! So cool the things we still learn about, right? Thanks again. Have a great one!
I think i've seen something like this big Black glitterpart whith all these garland chains before in southern germany. It could be Part of an old traditionell costume, such as that worn by the elderly women in welthy farmers families at annual festivals and other special family celebrations. They where part of the family jewelry, that was passed down through the generations. This special jewelerys adorned the chest area of what Was probably a black dress.
Hi! Sandra and Grams xo! Beautiful top Grams, beautiful blue! May long weekend in Canada! All parks, campgrounds, outdoor pools open! Sask tried to put a ban with....zero tolerance for any alcohol at all of the above ???? Could hardly wait for the video after seeing your auction purchases!!!!!!! Anyone else???
I just bought a necklace lot at auction for $7.50 - there was a 14k necklace that I sold for $400!! I love auctions!!! My fav was the carved jade piece!!
Hi, thanks for watching. Each country has different ivory laws, and I am no expert. I sell most of my jewelry on EBay, and I think EBay does not allow the sale of ivory. Ever. Have a great day!
Here’s something I found: “A common style across Europe was a heart brooch called a Witch's Heart. It's said these curved, asymmetric hearts were originally worn in ancient times to protect against any ill-meaning spirits or witches. In Scottish culture this style of brooch is called the Luckenbooth heart”.
I think the silver thing you weren't sure what it was is a tie pin hockey stick and pucks.
You’re an amazing jewelry teacher and your mother an excellent assistant ❤❤❤
Thank you kindly!
The last 80’s ish necklace is a happy necklace!😃Very special!
Yes, happy for sure! Thank you.

Great haul, so interesting to learn about the Georgian Witch's Heart. That was my favourite, along with the small oval floral guilloche brooch 😍
Thanks so much for watching!
Hi Sandy, I think that the black beads sewn on fabric are mourning adornments for Victorian mourning clothing. I have some similar to yours.
Interesting. THANKS!
Hey Mum & cousin Susan! ❤
Hellooooo!!!! xoxo
I love the variety and history of these pieces!
Oh thank you so much!!!
I love the apple head

The first Denmark brooch is my favorite! Hobe made a lot of sterling jewelry in the 30’s & 40’s
Thanks! I’ve never seen silver Hobe and I’m so happy to have it!!! Cheers!
Your Presidium gem tester could tell if red necklace was glass or stone, maybe carnelian? Great pieces you showed tonight 😍

Awesome!!! Lol on the ivory! I wonder sometimes when I find it in a lot at an auction if maybe its owner wasn’t aware… Thanks for watching!
The witches heart ♥ is my favorite. I like seeing everything 😊
Thanks a million!
Love the old Hobe!! They worked in sterling silver pre-1950’s if not earlier. Made some really gorgeous pieces and you found one! Lovely!
I never knew they made silver. There’s always something new to learn, right? Thanks a million for watching!

That video was posted today with all the purchases - check it out. Thanks!
Oh! Sorry! I saw your auction previews and was so excited to see what all you bought. Sorry about that...
I just bought a necklace lot at auction for $7.50 - there was a 14k necklace that I sold for $400!! I love auctions!!! My fav was the carved jade piece!!
Woot Woot! Congrats on the gold find!!! Thanks for watching! xo
Your mum's always a star. I'd love a real piece of cinnabar. The apple art is looking well. Too many yummy's to single out.
Awww thank you!!!!
You say that you can not sell the lvory? Then how could you buy it? Love your work.
Hi, thanks for watching. Each country has different ivory laws, and I am no expert. I sell most of my jewelry on EBay, and I think EBay does not allow the sale of ivory. Ever. Have a great day!
@@TheFunkyPickleThrifter You can say it’s bone. I have some ivory that l may do that very thing.
Hi! Grams, if anything goes missing tell your girl to check pickels pockets first!!
Lmao!!!!
Look for the bubbles in the carnelian/glass?
I did and I think I see some when I look with my loupe… xo
Hi! Could you please, show😊 us the single earring you made into a pendant again sometime? So romantic in design, do you think???
Romantic is a great word for it -- yes! Thanks Linda!
Curiosity has me wondering the history behind the georgian witches heart. I can't seem to find anything online. I've never heard of it before.
Epiphany is a brand that was sold by QVC I believe it was platinum over sterling silver. I don't know if they still carry this or not.
Interesting, thanks for the info, I'd never heard of it before. Cheers
Hi! I love the heart, keepsake box! Is it porcelain?? Beautiful!!!
Yes, it is! It's so pretty!
Give it to mom!
Hey Samantha! She doesn’t wear jewelry much anymore, so doesn’t want it. She can have anything she wants though, always. Thanks for watching!!
Columbia is a northwest Clothing company , same font as their brand logo
Ok thanks for the info!!
Best not to open the locket as the butterfly/wings will be very fragile and most likely will be damaged by the air.
I will keep as is for sure. THANKS for watching!
I couldn't even get past the first piece of jewelry. If you decide to sell it please let me know.
You can email if you want to buy it. iamthefunkypickle at Gmail. THANKS!!!
is their a chance the red necklace you liked in the last lot bakalight?
Thanks so much!
The carved coral colored earrings?
Maybe. I will check them out further. Thanks!!
😊🥰
Does the heart called witches heart also come in Sterling?
I don't know. It's possible though I've never seen it. Cheers!
Could they be carved coral?
Could the red earrings be cinnabar?
Maybe, I'll double check for sure. Thanks.
Minute '23:00 it is Goldenstone, it isn't glass....is a stone.
Well, thanks for watching!
Tiny one looks like a golf stick with balls!!!
Could be! Thanks for watching!
That black long piece might be a “stomacher”. They were worn on the stomach area of a dress
I have heard of that but have never seen. I will do some research. Thank you kindly for the info!
The witches heart looks like a strawberry.
It does a bit. Thanks!
Hi! Are those earrings fake cinnabar?
It’s possible… Hi!!!! 👋
I don’t quite know how auction houses can sell ivory. Makes ya wonder if they always have the provenance hmmmmm
I assume they do or maybe they think it’s bone? Thanks for watching!
