Gary Fischer - I have one of his bikes from 1994, complete with elastomer forks. Our son used it to commute to university for 3 years. Great bike for it's day but man we have it good now! Thanks to Gary and all the pioneers!
You could do the same focussing on British Riders... Tim Gould, David Baker, Deb Murrell, Caroline Alexander, Jason McCoy, Steve Peat etc etc... They were equally my heroes when I began mountainbiking .
It would be cool that you guys could do a monthly show about retro stuff, mtb history , legendary riders etc. As an old rider it brings me back a lot of memories and makes me feel young again
You missed someone who is a legend in dealing with adversity and lifes 'trials'...Martyn 'your bikes not even nice' Ashton 😁😋 This man is just a legend who mtb's. Check out his tedx talk. I know saying this is a cliche, but he is an inspiration to all, not just those less abled or facing adversity... though his bike vault taste does leave a lot to be desired...I guess even legends have there faults!! So there!

For me, the early 90s were the prime of the sort and all these companies were being pushed into developing the ultimate riding full sus bike and all the cool ideas that sprung up from their competition. And the ones that rode like a sack of mashed potatoes were interesting as well simply for the lessons learned. Cough! Trek cough! I just want to share my dream bike from those days. It was the experimental "Monolith" concept bike. Not sure if the year I saw. Pretty sure it was in a an issue of MTB Action. Anyway, that's enough.

My surgeon described the state it was in before he operated as "utterly fucked" and he tells me the muscles aren't healing as well as he would like so I may end up in a wheelchair and the following for sale: a Custom 2015 Fuji Nevada 1.4 (in blue) with black 2018 Rockshox Recon forks and (almost brand new) Rockshox Reverb (b1) dropper (and bunch of other stuff. If you google the model the only thing you will see that my bike has is the frame) and a Custom 2017 Vitus Escarpe Deore. I feel very lucky to say I've ridden with both Gary Fischer and Wade Simmons. Once-in-a-lifetime events for me that I will never forget.
