Hi Trudy - thx so much for letting me know. Feels so good to know I may have helped a few folks in some small way. I hope you have a fantastic day. Cheers.
Good job. We like our DC24 also. Replaced motor one time. On my 3rd brush. The Red reset button is gone on the new brush units. Maybe it does a motor reset automatically. After sometime, those brush units get really noisy. I put some heavy duty black tape on the sides to keep vibration down. Works for awhile. Also, you can put the red clip on the brush unit before you slide it in. It will click in place.
Thx WestCoast. Great tip on the clip.... prepositioning. I would never have thought of that but makes so much sense. I have a couple of other Dysons and will absolutely be using that trick. Elec tape add a good one too. Happy fixin'!
I took a knife and wedged it in beside strip near the end of the strip. Once I had this one end of it sticking up above the plastic I slid it sideways out of the slot by pulling with my fingers. Hope this makes sense.
I replaced all the screws to stainless and just regular philips head so dont have to stress out looking an allen wrench and also i switch to larger wheels and also replaced the front small feet roller toa little bigger to fix the issue of the unit not performing well because of the unit too low when using it for the floors.
@@fixitdad899 lol yes sir, I love this vacuum but it takes a little of getting use to as it can navigate around easily but at the same time can miss some area if u carried away. 😁
Excellent video! worked like a Champ. Added a drop or two of paint thinner on the motor ends with a small paint brush to lube the armature
Great idea re: the armature lube! Wish I'd thought of doing. May you and sir Dyson enjoy many more spins around the sun! 🌞
Thank you so much! Your video and step by step saved me from taking it in for service or buying a new one.

Hu, quick question on the dc 24 how do you take out the rubber lining in the bottom of the brush head for the screws? Without damaging the unit🤦🏻♂️😂

I am going to take mine apart even though it's fine for some preventive maintenance
