Some of these old sound were reused from CS 1.6, Left 4 Dead and CS Source... I would like them to offer an old sound kit through workshop so we can reused the old weapon sound, currently, instead of the new sound...
The competitive scene has evolved but the game in general is going backward with a gun sound and awp changes and some of the best map pool like cache, train, cbble & season have been removed. Visual got dumb down too. That's why I'm not satisfied ! It's never been the same good & fresh anymore

Idk what awp changes you talking about but if you are implying the scope speed nerf them yeah its justified. You shouldn't be using a sniper like shotgun in close range. With the old awp, Player like s1mple, Zywoo, Device will simply will unplayble.

The old sounds are taken from CS:S wich took sounds from CS 1.6 meaning the sounds in CSGO are 10/12 years old (its kinda acceptable as CS:GO was meant to be a Console port for CS:S)
These skins actually sound way more how guns sound in real life, with the exception of a few such as the M4A1-S. The AK is especially much more accurate.

I'm still of the opinion the old Glock, P2K, P250, Five-SeveN, MP7, FAMAS, M4A4, M4A1-S, AUG, SCAR-20, and AWP sounds were cooler. Too many of the new sounds are like paintball guns or blowpipes. I like what they did to fix some of the more samey sounds (shotguns for instance) that were a bit too distorted, but others in turn sound more samey and have less weight to them.
i hate "competitiveness" in video games. games are for having fun. even though i like CS, the weapon sounds, lack of physics objects (cs source style), removing/redesigning maps (especially what they've done to my beloved dust 2), and the new "sound visualizer" bugs me off. i want to play counter strike not valorant
