- The BioPro Hemi Toe Implant is a joint resurfacing implant designed to maintain motion and provide pain relief for patients suffering from big toe arthritis. The implant has been successfully used for over 70 years with an average +95% success rate supported by published clinical studies worldwide.
Is the hardware covered by Medicare.
Yes, this procedure is considered medically necessary and typically covered by Medicare.
Does it eradicate the pain completely?
The implant is designed to reduce or eliminate pain from the arthritic joint while maintaining motion. Every patient outcome is different, however, a clinical study published in 2018 comparing our implant to joint fusion showed 74% of patients had no pain and 26% had mild pain. No patients reported moderate or severe pain. Amongst the fusion patients, only 38% reported no pain, 40% mild pain, 17% moderate pain, and 5% severe pain. More information, including references to clinical studies, is available at bioproimplants.com/hallux-rigidus#.
@@BioProInc thank you for your respons . I live in Belgium. Are there any surgeons in Belgium or else where in Europe who can do this? And can you walk with this during 50 years without pain?
@@DutchTresor Sorry, unfortunately it is not available in Europe. We sold there for many years, however, when the EU introduced the new MDR medical device regulations the regulatory process became so complex and expensive we were forced to leave the market.
@@BioProInc do you know perhaps if they can implant this in the United kingdom? Or in Switzerland? Or otherwise in Atlanta? Or in Canada
@@DutchTresor Unfortunately it is not available anywhere in Europe, not just EU countries. We do have users in the Atlanta area. There is a surgeon finder on our website at bioproimplants.com/hallux-rigidus.
Will this reduce pain when bending the toe?
Yes, the implant is designed to alleviate pain while allowing for normal motion at the joint.
Do you have anyone doing this in the northeast?
Yes, we have many users in the northeast. You can use our surgeon finder on our website at bioproimplants.com/patients#findsurgeon.
