I both love the design of the SZ and remember fondly of owning and driving a Busso 3.0 V6 powered car. I had an Alfa 164. Got a member of the ex racing team to service it and he played with the engine limiter and a few other bits. Red line is about 7,500, but I can tell you they are good for 9,000!!!!!!! And yes the really surprising thing about the engine is how quick the revs rise or fall, I think due to lack of balancer shafts. Plus the comedy is it pulls away strongly and just keeps pulling. Used to wind up passengers, by pulling away in second. When you think the car would run out of puff at 6,000rpm, instead you put your foot down harder and it just kept going to 9,000!!!!!!
This car corners with a lateral G force of up to 1.4 which was a record for the day and still stands at the top. The fact that it is so unknown results in it being left off the tables.

I was fortunate enough to see an SZ in a museum in South Africa. I'm not an Alfa Romeo person, but theres something about the SZ that's infinitely appealing.
I build Alfa's and Ferraris for a living. I drove an SZ to auction about a year ago. I was simply astounded. Best sounding V6 ever. So smooth and absolutely perfect in every way. Styling is beautiful and arresting in the flesh and I took her to 120 MPH on the motorway. No problems at all. Lovely lovely car.
I have always loved the design of SZ, because of it's radical difference to anything else. I was but a pip-squeak when it came out and by the time I was allowed to drive, not affordable... The 6 headlights were, to me, awesome. So much so that when I was able to, I ordered a 159, because it had 6 headlights.... well sort of...
I understand that everyone says this car is ugly but for me this is one of the most beautiful Alfa Romeo ever made. The front is fantastic with the 6 headlights, the roof angle is super aggressive and the spoiler is a good compliment. The boot is ugly ok, but everything else o think is beautiful.

For me this car is beautifull and pleasing to see! Loved the video and i hope i get to see an Alfa Romeo SZ with my eyes one day.
This is automotive perfection.
You really don't need a stereo with that soundtrack
Best Video if watched for years

I love it! Ok the truncated um trunk not so much but I think the front 3/4 is beautiful!!!
Informative, interesting, appealing! This channel is underrated
I never understood people that say its ugly, I love it
Best host and production on YT :)
Thank you (all included in the making) for this superb series. Now to actually watch it :P
I was fortunate enough to see an SZ in a museum in South Africa. I'm not an Alfa Romeo person, but theres something about the SZ that's infinitely appealing.
One of the coolest, most retrofuturistic looking things ever. I adore the SZ
I would love to see a video on the Alfa 8C a truly gorgeous thing in my opinion
I build Alfa's and Ferraris for a living. I drove an SZ to auction about a year ago. I was simply astounded. Best sounding V6 ever. So smooth and absolutely perfect in every way. Styling is beautiful and arresting in the flesh and I took her to 120 MPH on the motorway. No problems at all. Lovely lovely car.
Yep I had one for 6/7 years and absolutely loved it. Had
Great presentation Jason! I personally love the SZ and I wish I had my Verde back!
Please make many many more of these! Love Jason's take (and informed explanations) of these things
Jason always delivers the best auto content. Love this whole concept. So many cool cars i've forgotten about!
Great stuff, my headmaster had one of these. I always loved its looks. He was called Johnny Rocket. His genuine name.
Loved it when it came out, love it still! One of few cars I ever kept a poster of!
Omg Hagerty knocking it off the park with the content. This, along with the F40 were my poster cars when i was little.
