My mother God rest her was raised in orphanage in Ireland. She told us she use to sleep in dorm with others,,she was in early teens now,,but she woke up to noise of huming. She raised up to see a banshee sitting on empty bed next to her brushing her hair. The girl whose bed she was on was in hospital ill but next day they found out she had died during night. Fact.

My granddad said he heard the Banshee when he was a young boy as he came home from working in the barn as he walked up the gravel path to the house he came upon his aunt, he said hello and asked if the family were home and she said yes they're all in the front parlor. She then said she had to go and walked on, as he entered the house he felt something was wrong only to find the family in the parlor crying over the body of the aunt he had just spoken to laid out on the table, God rest her soul.

I'm in Ohio in the USA. I grew up in a little tiny place that hasn't been on the maps since the 80's. We moved out of Irish Hallow down to the next street. I was asleep when Grannie's clock started chiming and I woke up on the last few strikes and at midnight there was a horrible noise all of the dogs, chickens and geese added in as much noise as they could. Grannie called out to Mom and told her to call over to the Tsylor's fast cause Carry might need help. Sure enough just a few minutes before Carry's brother Keck had passed away. Grannie was sure it had been th banshee we had heard. Mom was convinced it was either a fox or a screech owl but I have heard many owl and fox but nothing like that scream right at midnight and hope I never do hear that again.

I heard the banchee last year when I was waiting for someone to open the church for prayer one morning early. It scream came from the reservation once you hear a banchee scream you will never forget it. It was the most evil inhuman scream you will ever hear. I haven't heard it since. The scream sent a chill up my spine.

The moral of that story is if you ever see the banshee just leave her be. Some things are best left alone.

I saw her and heard her of course, but she had long dark hair. She told us of a death that would happen beforehand, around six hours before. We all heard her, and we all knew exactly what she meant, but had no idea it would be the father of my friend's niece that would die, by his own hands.

As a family we have always heard her. All my life. She follows lots of names...the 'O's and the 'mac's. I heard her twice myself. We also get 'the knocks' 3knocks. ...and of course the handle of the door too. In olden days it was the latch of the door ....you'd hear it hopping...nowadays it the handle.
