So, I decided to splurge and stayed at Millennium Hotel next to Icon Siam. We used water ferries, tuk tuk and taxi. I knew enough about negotiating for tuk tuk and taxi. As a complete newbie, I was happy we stayed where we did. But if I get back there, I would definitely look into your recommendations.
I’m sure it was an amazing stay at the Millennium! Looking for hotels in Bangkok can be overwhelming - so many choices! If you’re looking for value, quality and location then yeah you should look into Mercure or Ibis!
Have stayed at both these hotels and both are good but prefer the Mercure. The outside streets are not to everyone's taste, so be warned, did not bother us tho.
Thanks for watching. The streets in Bangkok can be a crazy. Since this is a business area - it's a little better in terms of cleanliness and less girly bars like in Nana area.
