Your channel is so worth subscibing. Everytime you come up with useful tips and a fun to watch video. Hats off.
Oh, how Thailand calls out to me to return. I recognize all those places. What a city!
I’ve stayed at that hotel many times over the years. Noticed the price went up on my last visit. Usually pay $20 but last visit was $29. They updated the gym recently. Still good value
man your coffee que narrative had me cracking up, you really meant the bit about the suitcase weight , hilarious, great video
Always traveling as we would including places to stay. Here’s one all may like:
Poo-Yai Lee Boutique Hotel at BP Place is located within 400 meters of Chatuchak Market,
(Bangkok’s famous, gigantic weekend market), and a 10 minute walk to the BTS Sky Train (Mo Chit & Saphan Kwai Stations)
and the MRT Subway Station (Suan Chatuchak Station). Also within walking distance is the Or-Tor-Kor Market.
Second floor has a guitar shop run by Pead he’ll play anything from Neil Young to Blues.
Food is wonderful too!
Anyway thanks again for sharing your travels with us.
Ahhhmzing value on hotel, food, and the vibe can’t be beat. Thank you for all the great tips and recommendations STL🥰
I stayed in SureStay Plus on Sukhumvit 2 and loved it. It’s about £40 per night but everything was modern, spotless and a rooftop pool. That Best comfort will definitely be on my list to try when I’m next over there.
Wait as we may at Starbucks, at least it isn't Tims. Your Indonesia trip was amazing, probably the best series on youtube I've ever seen! Fantastic to see another adventure back in Bangkok. Keep it up STL!
I’ve been looking for a hotel for months and believe I’ll rent here next month. Fits the bill perfectly. I owe you a dinner
You’ve been away from home for a while….welcome back, enjoyed all the amazing spots you traveled to…..
Food is number one in Thailand and can’t be rushed making a decision 😂
I stayed at Hotel Clover another great value stopover even closer to Asoke and T21. Fantastic breakfast, rooftop pool & bar
I like the clover better
quick look shows nightly prices approaching $60 though. Kind of a different class of hotel compared to the one highlighted in this video
Yep, doing a quick check it shows triple the price in Baht...no doubt it offers more but probably not a worthy comparison 🤔
Very impressive salad bar!
Absolutely top value hotel!
Great video! 👏🏻👍🙏😎
Thanks to you, Sir, I now have my initial arrival first few day plan to acclimate. Good info!
Great video! I like seeing the U.S. prices that you list! Nice hotel for the price! Have fun!
My favourite UA-cam channel!
Your Videos ALWAYS make me feel Hungry STL..... I would not stop eating if I was there...... Great Vid as always Dear Chap........ :-))))
Thanks for showing my favorite hotel. Loved my stay there. I stayed in the same room. Cheers!
That hotel was amazing for $30 in the centre of town! Steam room! Bangkok IS a steam room lol! Happy Wednesday buddy
Just landed BKK. Down to Hua Hin tomorrow. I blame you for all this. 😅
haha enjoy Tim! STL
Yeah side trip life got me into this too...now I'm in love with Thailand.
Thai woman all want to know why you want come to Thailand and Thai lady? How to explain what a mess the west is currently....never mind just smile.
Watched this in pkk while doing laundry, thanks for showing me this place and all the other great spots! Cheers
Nice one Nick, enjoy! STL
Nooooo lol don't show everyone my hotel! I've been staying there for years but has been harder and harder to book every year 555
exactly.. my fav Suk Hotel just refused a discount for my next trip.. after staying there 6 months a year the last 8 years..
I just tried to book for my dates and it's sold out. 😂
Hahha same I just saw the thumbnail and said wait a second is that my hotel!?!? Damn man
I guess I'm going to have to give this place a fitting.
There are so many other good, and cheaper, coffee places why go to Starbucks?
Memory master. Miami Hotel /1969......my first visit., in a string of many and loved them all. Will see you there soon!!
Cool!
love your informative videos
Ahhh Sams Lodge. That brought back some memories.Liking the comfort hotel.Might have to try it out next time I'm in town
You are beyond awesome. I would have never found this incredible hotel. God bless you.
Many thanks for this video!!! I’ve been here at the Best Comfort for several days now. Great location, great WiFi and super friendly staff! You’re right that it needs some updates but it’s comfortable, clean, and reasonably priced!
Hi is it quiet ? Thank you
Just booked for mid March. Thank you!
makes me warmer just watching .....cold here in montana
OHHHHHHH! I can't wait to see my old fave since 2008 The Miami. Was there in November 2019 before when the renovations started. I follow them on FB and am amazed at the changes. Plus been in a few Netflix series or movies now. Look forward to that! Cheers!
The old Miami renovation is all Miami Vice now (as we'll see next time;)
@@SideTripLife Thanks, Mate!
I'll be there next week. Good deal on what seems like a great hotel.
Great to see back very good budget hotel
Thanks for sharing , great find .
Excellent, Thank you sir.
Nice to see you back in BKK
I wish o knew about that last week, was finding it hard to get value around there ! That's excellent value.
Nice to see that hotel. I like old school thai hotels.
Good tip re the unrounded up amount at the ATM x
agreed! Why did I never think of that? 🙂
Amazing video! Now i can watch it :)
Great video myfriend..Thank you for share
Great hotel! I figure anything is a win as long as no bed bugs. YUCK! Welcome back to Bangkok! Thanks for sharing.
It may be an old hotel with blemishes but haven't encountered any BB's (which contrary to popular belief are transitory and can appear even in 5 star places).
@@SideTripLife I worked in hospitals for 39 years. BB can be nasty and can come in easily.
Thanks! Was looking for a hotel for our last 4 nights in Thailand. This fits the bill so we’ve just booked it😊
Hope you enjoy. As stated, it's got blemishes guys but if you're ok with that, good value and great location.
Good first tip on the ATM, hard to beat the Hotel for the location for that price.
What a guy. What a following! Well deserved.
You made me want to take a drive back to BKK! Have not been for a while.
They just opened an El Gaucho near me in Jomtien, and I just found out that the first Tuesday of every month, every steak on the menu is 50% off.
Keep those informative videos coming…my favorite.👍
El Gaucho has great steaks and food in general but spendy AF! So 50% off sounds great (bet they still make good money on it too;)
@@SideTripLife yes they do, but even at full price, they are still cheaper than Los Angeles.
Wow, such a drastic contrast between Magical Mentawai and Boomin' Bangkok! The titillation of both areas is clear to see as they provoke the senses in vastly different ways. What a "trip" it has been to experience the contrasts through your lens. What a "trip" it will be to experience these contradictions IRL. You and your videos are a great inspiration for many. Bangkok missed you STL and she hopes you will stay, at least, another week 😉
Love the buzz and energy of Bkk (but missing magical Mentawai to be honest ;)
Same. It appears that 4 days in BKK could be my max - ha ha.
@@user-vq8ym7sj6b 4 days in Bangkok and I was just getting started. Loved it !
Cheers for that video.🍻🍻🍻🍻👍
Your hotel looks great, I really like the old hotels as long as they are looked after 👍😎
It's scuffed like an old hotel but if one doesn't mind that, great value.
Terminal 21 food court is absolutely tasty and a bargain to boot. Just remember to get enough $$ on your card and then cash it in before you leave. They also have a very nice smoothie stand with mango and more. I was last there towards the end of the pandemic restrictions and so many shops were closed. It's good to see it busy again.
Good find! Well done.
i think the hotel is a good value. i wouldnt hesitate to stay there. nice job
Love your vids. From Vancouver. Love bkk.
I still miss Van where I was born, always my home in my heart but no complaints living in Thailand.
Love work!
That's all a single person needs. Good enough for me
Elephant pants give away a foreigner for sure...
The Blooms 203 ถนน Soi Si Bamphen, Thung Maha Mek, Sathon, Bangkok 10120, Thailand no pool but great place long-term to setup base
Thanks for the hotel tip, may be the first spot a I stay for a few nights when I arrive latter in the year Cheers,
Yes dude if you have big wallet, you'll be fine !
Hi STL! Been meaning to say I like your new cameo addition to your intro...now “Let‘s Go!“ watch another great video by Side Trip Life!! 🥳🌈🤗
Thanks for sharing this top value budget hotel option in Bangkok.
Great video
My favorite hotel stay in Bangkok was in 2007 at the Four Seasons BKK when I had a good paying job
Another great video. I'll be in Bangkok starting the 11th for a week. If you are around, would be cool to meet you for a beer or two or three!
Nice that's a great value! You definitely won't get a cheaper nightly room anywhere along sukhumvit near the center.
I agree with your coffee rant. I keep saying S-bucks and others need a separate plain-old coffee line for us simple coffee drinkers. ☕️
That's a GREAT idea! About my coffee rant, I wasn't 'really' annoyed (I'm a pretty chill guy actually) but while I was waiting and waiting and waiting just had a thought or two lol.
Awesome video
Went to Starbucks once, ordered coffee for my wife. It was at the VA hospital in Temple Texas. Will never use that place again. Would rather go to street/mom and pop place, even 7-11.
That is indeed a great price! I wish I knew as I just was in Bangkok haha. Timing is everything I guess. I ended up trying out Dynasty Inn on Sukumvit 4 just South of nana plaza and all the bars there. My main worry was it would be too noisy, but I was pleasantly surprised at clean room and quiet when inside. It is high $40s/night and does not have a gym or pool though. Good to have cheap options on both sides of this area. Just my opinion, but not really a fan of Soi Cowboy. Too much pressure at agogos there + very high costs. Nana plaza offers better experience for those who partake in that kind of thing. I also prefer the regular bars on that side compared to Soi Cowboy area, but perhaps your future videos will enlighten me to some good places to check out. I am willing to change my mind. 🙂
Last year we stayed in New Siam Riverside hotel. Then back to stay at Hope Land Hotel again. Two different areas x
Prefect Bkk vacay split, urban and riverside! Btw will be showing my fav riverside hotel and tour next. STL
Was there last week. You got to prepay and get a card to use around the different shops.
Good to know some things never change... For me Bangkok's food courts have been in a strange decline - like, I'm used to my sen yai rice noodles being pure rice and brittle, but in the 2010s that got swapped that out for more springy chewy sen yai. I became very disillusioned with food courts and Thai street food (T21 in particular gives me anxiety attacks lol) until I realized a lot of it's still like they used to be down in Pattaya, in pricing, flavor and the random vendor's ability to spidey-sense what you want without speaking English :)
7:22 khao kha moo! I have had this menu many times at Terminal 21!
Will be coming to Thailand soon if all goes well. I have a line on a cargo trailer I plan to buy , revocation into a livin trailer complete with solar-powered ac to ping on a leased bayside lot between Hua Hin and Prachuap Khiri Khan.
Thanks
Cheers Peter! STL
I always go Terminal 21 to cool off and some food. My favourite mall :)
Same. In the west mostly avoid malls, here, it's both a meeting place and a cooling off place.
@SideTripLife sure is. I might try that hotel too. Prices gone thtough the roof in Pattaya with Chinese New year.
Thanks!
Welcome!
Warm greetings from your recommend Khao Tao Beach Lodge! Rooms a bit basic but still a great find, thank you.
Next stop, Sam Roi Yot!
Didn't stay there but loved the cafe which I was recommending, such a nice outlook too. Anyways, glad it worked out. Sam Roi Yot should be lovely. Enjoy!
Heading to Bangkok soon. Does it have a proper balcony ?
I've got a good hotel on Sukhumvit and it's already hard to book as is so it'll be my little secret.
Thanks, most definitely my place to stay next trip to Thailand,to start, then one of your places in hua hin, but have you done chaing mai?😎

@@SideTripLife Thank for the time savers. I'll be sure to mention you upon booking and arriving at anyplace you've shown.
@@SideTripLifeit's only right, especially having been in sales and marketing for many yrs, especially in accommodations and as Island activity specialist in Hawaii.
Btw, I stayed at the Manhattan last time in Bangkok which you mentioned was renovated but also price increased. We have very similar taste places. They had loc. ,$1000bht, and b-fasy buffet then, but simple is good too. Rooftop pools are Great !
Will go next time
STL in BKK means watch , learn & enjoy 😃 - The hotel is good - Thanks 🙏 👌✔️👍👋🙏
Nice one mate…….
SLT …..
Seriously ….I LOVE YOU ❤
Never seen your face , more the mystery
I love , how u love dogs
I love , how u love cats
I love , how u love cutie -pies on Mentawai
You genuinely love animals
And that’s why I love you 🥰 🤟
You have got me DREAMING of The Mentawai’s
Brads Bakery for a pie 🥧
I’m there !!!!!😅

I’m there !!!
Mentawai’s can wait 🥴✈️
Your vids just the best , your humour is gold 👹🤟💫⚡️✨⭐️
In T21, I usually find someone sitting alone at a table for 2… “excuse me, may I sit here”.
Old school's the best!
If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle for a bit, I highly recommended Kokotel Bangkok Sukhumvit 50. No pool, but it’s nice and clean and right beside the Lotus’s at On Nut station. $35-40 USD/night.
Thanks for sharing! My favorite eatery at Terminal 21 is Pepper Lunch. I will really try Best Comfort next time we are in BKK. Do you know if they have long term price like week or monthly price?
Monthly? Not sure. Perhaps in low season? They look booked solid now (oops) but perhaps contact them directly. Note on their own website there's a flashing 15% discount sign but no promotion indicated.
Bangkok looks nicer than the American cities I’ve been in my whole life
For that location not bad at all 👍
Great value hotel there, Best Comfort.
It's pretty old skool, lotsa blemishes but great value and great gym!
Works for me. I'm not spoiled.@@SideTripLife
If you go to the Terminal 21 food court, never go between the hours of 12pm to 2pm because you will have a very difficult time finding a place to sit and enjoy your meal. I found that 11am is the best time to go because it's before the Thai office workers and students break for lunch.
Great 'local' tip right there. Thanks Kevin :)
We have the same fave food vendor in T21🎉😂😊
Perfect hotel for that price
I will book next time
Micke 🇸🇪
It's older, has blemishes but good location and value.
@@SideTripLife Clen bed is most important
Funny! Sizzler went bankrupt in USA 2020!! Saw them in Term21 and got nostalgic!
do they have monthly rates?
What the hotel name? Looks great
No more Sizzler restaurants in Perth Western Australia 🇦🇺 after Covid in November 2022. “Collins Foods closed all of its remaining Sizzler restaurants in Australia in November 2020.”
Hyatt Regency Bangkok Sukhumvit is the best experience for me so far… or any of the Radisson Hotels.
$29 a night US for your place that you stayed.
Are there any places for us cheap Charlie’s? Lol
Another great vid that was way too short .
I would love to hear all the technical stuff and how you get your money. Do you have a bank in Thailand that you go to or do you transfer money only through a ATM card from Canada? Do you use Charles Schwab? I have a Fidelity account that will reimburse the use of ATMs.
Everything down to where you buy most of your coffee for your Aero press. I think it would be interesting to see your daily life.
Other than looking for places to stay. Even Visa stuff would be interesting. What you take is on everything, your true professional!!!
Safe travels
Thanks. Will consider that. I just use online banking from Canada to my Thai banks and ATM.
will go there, asoke side
Have any idea when they last updated it? I stayed there many times years ago and I stopped. I have to leave it at that because you're not allowed to say to much negative things in Thailand.
Some rooms have been updated but it's still a very old hotel with many blemishes (as expected for around 1000 baht with pool 5 mins walk to BTS). Can opt for 1500-2000 Baht tier hotels and get much nicer/newer of course (but mostly without pool). Also have some favs in that tier, may do another vid on that.
