It's said that Sybil is 98% processed... if you count her hp on all three stages then divide it with the 50 hp she has at the end when you kill her, its 2%... The remains.
W I L D
I've tried seeing what would happen if you don't kill her and let her crawl all the way to the edge.
Nothing happens though...
@@trydodis690 Same here, I didn't really want to kill her but that's not an option.
@@Gir_0 Red certainly wanted to do it. Stole her voice while trying to kill her, but ended up killing her main squeeze.
Veronica Flowers it’s actually heavily implied that Sybil was in love with Red. She knew that Red’s boyfriend would be there and didn’t tell the Camerata, setting him up to be murdered to try and get to Red. Once he was dead, she waited at the Empty Seat for her, even once she was processed.
In my first playthrough, I was just focused on not dying, especially when fighting Sybil. I was just relieved that I killed her and then moved on. In my second playthrough with subtitles on, I finally realized what Sybil was saying and why she became the way she was and the pit of my stomach dropped. I felt so much pity for this broken creature and shame for not putting the pieces together earlier. I became obsessed with In Circles and this version. They are so hauntingly beautiful.
You pretty much described my situation perfectly. Here, have a like.
+1 same for me.
Sybil might be a homosexual, some of her dialogue points to it and also her biography, but not confirmed. One of these lines from her battle are: "I saved you, I saved you, I saved you I always, I always wanted to". And also when she dies she says "Finally finally finally we can be" also her biography states that she somehow found something inscrutable about red. Also how she became infatuated by red's music, then red; Thinking that one reds companions was turning red against her.
MyLolmom its sad she ended up losing her sanity I wish it started a little further back in time so we could see how she was like before that...
8-BitDigital ujj
The song is clearly a rejection, but it's still the one thing Red made specifically for Sybil... so she'll cling to it to death and beyond
Why do I feel sympathy for Sybil when she’s literally responsible for the story’s tragic events 😭
@@grubbygeorge2117 If it weren't for Sybil then Red would have been most likely attacked when she was alone and would have died at the start of the game. Sybil set things up so the assassination attempt would be when Red had her bodyguard with her and had the best chance to survive. Sybil's motivation was pretty selfish (she wanted Red for herself), but she genuinely did everything she could to make sure Red survived the Camerata's plan.
@@leitmotif6854 It was Sybil herself that nominated Red as their next target. Chances are, she would not be targetted by them if not for Sybil.
@@grubbygeorge2117 Red was one of the most influential and talented artists in the city by the time the game takes place, while also having minimal attachments to anyone except her bodyguard and (formerly) Sybil herself. There's no way the Camerata would have passed her up as a candidate for Integration for long - she was perfect for it.
To say that that was Sybil's plan all along (to make sure the attempt happened on her own terms and maximized Red's chances of living through it) is a bit of a reach, but the logic lines up at least. Sybil joined the Camerata, nominated Red, and canonically manipulated events so the assassin would be sent when Red wouldn't be alone.
I really don't think the Camerata minus Sybil would have ignored Red, given how valuable she would have been to their goals. Sybil doing what she did works as a controlled burn of something that was going to go up anyway imo.
Dropping the vowels to call it _n C_rcl_s looks so dang cool. One of my personal fave parts of this song.
So in this version you can clearly hear 2 seperate voices being Red and Sybil. Red saying but "I won t save you" and Sybil saying "I ... save you" . I think this happens because Sybil is trying to fight back against the process (because she is 98% processed). I believe she is trying to redeem herself to Red for all the crap she did. So this is where comes a desperate "I ... save you" yet red knows that nothing can be done about Sybil but killing her so she sings "I won t save you". If you see this way is quite more sad lol
That's a good interpretation of Red's motives. However, I think Sybil's motives are slightly different. She's saying "I save you" because that was what she was trying to do (in her mind). She wanted Nobody (the bodyguard) out of the way because she was infatuated with Red, so she had the Cam target Red knowing that Nobody would intervene and likely die. She intended to double cross them and rescue Red after the Cam got rid of Nobody. Things just didn't go the way that she had planned, and she was broken after she failed to save the one she loved (possibly because of guilt over Red being maimed by the Transistor).
sybil actually says, I'm pretty sure,, "I WILL save you", it's just really hard to hear with red overlapping. which just makes this even more meaningful
Just when I thought Supergiant had ONLY made the best boss battle soundtrack ever with "In Circles" it turned into this!? How did they make it even cooler? How!
it took me a bit but jesus 'I *will* save you' actually is within the distortion. I couldn't hear it for the longest time over the original vocals.
Oh yeah you can hear the distorted voice say I will save you while the background vocals say won't it's hard to tell but it's there
@@WanderingRonin509 Yeah, Sybil made sure the Camerata assassin would attack when her bodyguard would be there with her, which was her best chance of surviving the attempt. Sybil did it because she was in love with Red and the bodyguard was her competition, but she genuinely didn't want Red to die, and did everything she could to save her.
I purchased my soundtrack off of steam. Even though I could have gottan it free here, it was worth every penny.

A Fly on the wall
In through the window
And up through the hall
Flying in circles just trying to land

But i won't save you
i won't save you
Maybe you are looking for someone to blame
Fighting for air while you circle the drain
Never be sorry for your little time
It's not when you get there
It's always the climb
But i won't save you
I won't save you

Ugh, i miss the mashup someone made of the two songs. the original first, and then a dead stop to the backtrack when Sybil's version comes in... it was chilling. i wish i downloaded it before it got taken down :(
I'd love to remake this for you 😊 I never heard the original mashup though, can you give me some more details? Was it both full songs one after another? By dead stop, do you just mean the first song cut off and the second one immediately started?
/watch?v=8mCWgAhtlUU here's one!
I couldn't hear that distorted "I will save you" until I listened to the original version... Ouch...
@@nilly0052 No, in the distorted version, she's saying "I'll save you", the original is "I won't save you". Use your damn ears.
The distortion is still "I won't save you" the damn songs came with lyrics people.
@@TheKhive Theres no oficial lyrics for the distorted version, only for "In Circles". However the bit subjectivity of the distorted version music cannot be ignored, the entire music was referencing Sybil but this last stage "_n C_rcl_s" was how Sybil remember this song at 98% processed, so the glitch changing some times the lyrics from "won't" to "will" is perfectly plausible.
It sounds almost like the processed version of Sybil is mocking Red while she's singing, like she's jealous, angry...
***** I like to think that the original version of the song represents Red's opinion of Sybil during the battle - she pities Sybil, but believes there's no way to help her. This version, on the other hand, is Sybil's attitude toward Red - ruthless, mocking, refusing to show mercy, with the exception of the line "maybe you're looking for someone to blame". The drop of all the instruments during that phrase seems to suggest a moment of clarity, as though Sybil still acknowledges that this situation is her fault.
Epsilonyx Thanks for pointing that bit out. Super goose bumps now.
Personally, all theorizing aside, I myself pity Sybil. Have you ever put on subtitles or listened really closely to her before and during the fight? I get the feeling that she really grew to like Red and truly believed that the others meant her no harm. Maybe that's why she got processed so much quicker. She was forlorn and couldn't put up much fight, or didn't want to.
*****
I'm quite aware.. But it doesn't change the feel of the song. And loved being a past tense. It's entirely possible her love was corrupted by despair or even by the process. We may never know.
*****
Oh, I know. I apologize. I admit, I've noticed that sometimes I can come across as being offended or defensive even when I'm not. All is good, all is well.
***** plus in this version, sybil actually says ''But, I WILL save ya'' but in red's version she says ''But, I WONT save ya'' this made me sad.. because i dont think sybil actually hates red.. i think everyone lost their sanity at this point.
I prefer the non-distorted lyrics, but I like the background and pacing of this much better
I've just finished the game today and will replay it to know more about Sybil since I see many ppl like the boss fight, but seriously, it's 1:30 am and I'm listening to this version because ppl like it more.. OMG this freaks me out and I grabbed my blanket instantly cuz I feel like a creep like Sybil is coming to kill me xD
The vocoder in this is absolutely amazing.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhh! Thank you guys so much for uploading this! This is one of my favorite tracks! You guys rock!
This version is awesome!
Yay! Thank you for this! I know so many companies that would sell this as a "DLC" >.>, very appreciated that the ones who bought the ost are receiving this for free too ^^
Not as if they didn't xD
But why not get it.
Welp, the "DLC" was the first OST, this one became later as an extra, free charge xD

Ah now I get it, yeah you're right.
+The 19th Fighter 7 xD your avatar
the voice in this song almost sounds like its in pain
Am I the only one who cried while killing Sybil?
O_ Sybil, my h_art has br_ken for the_
Hauntingly Beautiful
I LOVE the transistor soundtrack. I haven't bought the complete album, but I'm seriously considering just getting the whole thing because MMMMMMMM!
THIS IS IN 5/4!!! MIND=BLOWN
is that just cool because its such a rare signature or am i missing something
I've been waiting for this....
"Attack (X) Relent(O)"
hello again, Sybil
Me and my friend talked so many houes about this song. We love it lol
I too would go batshit if someone wrote a song rejecting me and basically shamed me publicly
are there more songs like these with a static-c-c-c-y voice?
In this game? Only Sybil's 'cause she was resisting The Process
Transistor has my favorite soundtrack, from all the games, I know of
go play Pyre, it's from same composer and it has the best OST out of supergiant games imo
great song ashley and derren, would be a shame if someone decided to make it wack
sounds very metroid echos, i like it.

Nice time signature you've got there.
can there be an instrumental version of this and a hummed version?
If you buy the sound track they have normal and extended ( usually with hums )
i know that there's an instrumental version when you return to the promenade heading to Royce, yet it's not on the soundtrack, much like the bass only version of Impossible when you're at his hideout
I like this version even better than the original. Actually made me cry when I first heard this in the game.
Sybil
Thank you so much for uploading! This soundtrack is brilliant and you guys are amazing! :D
SUPERGIANT WHY U NO MAKE MORE GAMES
I'd rather a long gap in between great games rather than they churn out shit games every year.
EndoNGB true but the wait took forever for them to announce anything when i got bastion
If you look at their webpage, you'll notice that this is a team of only 11 people, each of whom takes over a seriously major part of the games they make.
Put simply, these guys work HARD. And if working this hard for this long produces these kinds of results, then who are we to object? ;)
good point u win
White1Tiger2Dan yup, even huge companies with hundreds of workers take years to release games that arent nearly as good as transistor was. /edit/ nearly as good as transistor IS not WAS. :P
I hope this is what I hear while dying
red red red......
*this game is free on the epic store right now*
If you listen closely, you can hear a woman's voice... One that doesn't sound like Red.
Carlton Chicken because it's Sybil
Which is odd, seeing that it is the same person singing (Red and Sybil have the same voice actress)
Wait, hold on one second... (SPOILER ALERT, READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!)
Wasn't Sybil in love with Red, then found out that she had a boyfriend (The sword.) and didn't like her afterward?
Isn't that where she says "I won't save you." to Red?
Is it just me?
The lyrics are from Red’s perspectives.
Sybil actually says I..... Save you. Red says I won't say you. I was reading throu the comments and the thought is the 2% that remained in Sybil wanted to save red.
sybil says "I will save you." it's in the distortion. the won't is from red.
but yes, otherwise, sybil is in fact implied to have feelings for red.
What program was used to create that voice? It's AMAZING!
Bit late but I'm pretty sure its a vocoder
They used the Help() program
It just goes to show how deep Transistor is that with most videos like this the comments section is basically "Good song" + "Thanks for not making it a DLC", but with this its serious dicussion of the games lore. Serious respect @Supergiant Games
That phone is not on hook tone in the background
I need the vinyl for this album so much
This, but with shodan from system shock
SHODAN? Singing? That is a hilarious thought that I will never stop laughing about now.
Chills
*Maybe you're looking for someone to blame.*
In this, Red and Sybil are alike. It's not Nobody's fault that Red doesn't love Sybil the same way, and Red killing all the Camerata won't bring Nobody back *or* fix the world.
all this deep thought into the game, I just saw a boss fight and struck a well earned and heavily desired killing blow when I saw that flimsy remnant of a body laying there XD
She doesn't say "I will save you".
dare call it origal f you reported to original owners
This is literally the official channel of the game's creators lol
Loved the original song... This one is pretty bad though.
The important thing isn't if the song is beautiful, it is the thing that it represents, sybil singing aboit red like red did before
+weekOff It's suppose to sounds distorted and fucked up
the beauty behind this song is during the boss battle with sybil. if you're losing sybils voice is more prominent. I think this song has a very powerful impact of the situation you're and helps elevate the feelings of dread.
Wait, really? Your performance during the fight actually changes the song?
Leafia Barrett if I'm not mistaken, if red is dying Sybil's voice is louder.
