Thank you very much for the glass. Came right on time. I'm going with my kitten to Brazil in July and I'm very worried about the documents. So, we have to do the CVI at most 10 days before boarding. And the vet signs on the same day? You also mentioned a certificate of health, right? - I also had doubts about the official veterinarian. How long does it take for him to sign? It has to be after I went to my cat's vet, right? They do the same day u need an appointment. Thank you very much and congratulations on marrying a Brazilian!!!
Your video couldn't have come in a better time! Thank you for the video and links. We're thinking to take our Pomeranian to Brazil as well and leaving from Canada, but not sure due to the long hours of flight. How did Summer handled the flight? Did you give any calming treat? Did she use the pet relief station?
Im so glad you enjoyed it! We asked out vet to prescribe anti anxiety medication, and gave it to her before the longest flight between toronto and SP. Her first flight she was pretty nervous for the first hour but by the end she was a seasoned traveler and knew exactly what to do. Bring puppy pads for the airport. Summer doesnt pee on them (sadly in sp there are no dog relief stations) so she peed on the floor, but cleaning it up with a puppy pad was so easy, and quick. Boa viagem!
Hello. Thanks for the video. I'm in Montreal, and will be going to Sao Paulo in 3 months, this time bringing my 7 months old shih-poo, so I'm figuring out the documents. From where you downloaded the dog passport to bring to the vet, to be filled? The one at the Brasiliam consulate shows draft on every page. After having it signed by the vet (in legal paper, not a4) it needs to be brought to the nearest government Canada Food Inspection Agency to be stamped? That will be the document Canada checks on the way back, right? Valeu!
Yes exactly. First the vet needs to complete their sections of the document, then the inspection agency does the final signing. inspection.canada.ca/animal-health/terrestrial-animals/exports/pets/canadian-international-health-certificate/eng/1321285405995/1321285496577
thank you for this video! very informative. I will be taking my dog first time to fly with AC, how do you find the airlines being pet friendly? I've heard different opinions and I am a bit worrying.
Some are great but most are very strict about the dog staying in the kennel the whole time while on the plane. If you have all of your documents you will be fine!
Edmonton- Toronto to são paulo, são paulo to SC. Longest stretch was about 10 hours. I don't recommend connecting through an american airport, as it might get complicated.
Didn't you have any problem with the carrier size flying with GOL or Latam? I will fly with GOL and the size is bigger than the information provided on the GOL's website. I'd like to buy that pet carrier but I'm concerned about being rejected.
@@TheJJDaily thanks for your answer :) And do you remember which aircraft of Air Canada you flew? In their website I found the information about the height saying 27cm. But there is a list of exceptions where they say in the Boeing 787-9 the height should be less than 20cm. Or 27cm in the business class. That will be the aircraft I'm gonna fly.
@hoffmannfelipe you can only bring your pup in economy, not business class or premium economy. The smallest plane we flew on was the 737-8. No issues at all. A little squishy. I recommend picking an aisle seat
depende. My vet charged $250 for the documents, the flights for her were about $150 extra. Her carrier was around $120 and super worth it. bring cash, sometimes at the airport they hit you with extra fees you werent prepared for
