- Is this rare sea creature the dragon of the ocean?
In this episode, I go scuba diving in Bali, Indonesia, in search of a a group of bizarre looking sea creatures, the Ghost Pipefish. Along the way, we also find lots of other awesome ocean and coral reef creatures in the muck, including mantis shrimps, seahorses, decorator crabs, pipefish, and nudibranchs.
If you’re a lover of the ocean (and scuba diving) and small things that swim (or walk, crawl, float, roll?), you don’t want to miss this one…
Hunt For Crazy Creatures | Episode: 8
In this series I’m going on the hunt for the craziest looking creatures in the Indo-Pacific. If you love learning about the underwater world, and want to learn a thing or two about some of its stranger residents, go check out the other videos in this series…
Wow! Just stunning! Thank you so much for taking us on your diving-trips.
More than welcome, sir! It's only going to get more immersive.
Thank you for this incredible video
Thank you! When are you coming back?
Nice video like always
Thank you, boss! All too small for you to catch 🎣
I can't even begin to tell you how much I enjoy your videos and how much I get a kick out of how much you're getting a kick out of the whole thing! I used to be able to scuba, but I developed MS, so watching you make these videos I'm living vicariously through you and I appreciate every second underwater with you dude!❤❤
I'm really sorry to hear about your diagnosis, but glad I'm able to give you a little ocean kick through my videos. Will do my best to keep bringing you cool content each week and make the videos even more immersive. Thank you so much for the support 🙌 Is there anything you'd like me to try and find?
your videos are so good, they deserve so much more views than you're getting. I learn so much watching you, its like im watching David Attenborough 👌
Thank you! Very kind. Glad you're learning lots. You enjoy me including lots of facts about the critters we find then? I'll make sure to keep them coming.
Hey hey! If you've got 6 minutes spare, I've just posted a survey to get a better understanding of the types of videos you'd like to see going forward. I'd LOVE your feedback :) Here it is: app.opinionx.co/1bbd4f7f-9a84-4ed3-91ce-fdb24646e664
Those pipefish at the end are just absolutely stunning❤
They are, but they're a massive pain to film 😂 Hoping to find some of the other species soon.
The peacock mantis shrimp is always my favorite! They are just awesome and amazing! But every one of them is aren't they? I can't tell you how jealous I am, but very happy that you're recording them so that we can follow along and see what you see in the most beautiful awesome place you are diving❤❤❤
Me too! I was super happy with the shots I got of the peacock - took me a long while though and I didn't have a huge amount of time to record other critters on that dive 😂 Really happy you're enjoying the videos. I won't be uploading once this week because the conditions here have been terrible, but hoping to get a baited camera video up next week (with some new additions to the tech that I think you'll like!).
Great video. Great videography.
Thank you, sir! What was your favourite critter?
I watch quite a few undersea docs. I’m surprised I’ve seen so many creatures on these videos that I’ve never seen before. I wish I could pick a favorite but I just can’t. So many of these fish and other animals are like living gems. Absolutely beautiful.
Oooo that's great to hear! I'm glad I'm able to show you things you've not seen before. Yes, I really struggle to pick a favourite too (I was particularly excited about the peacock mantis with eggs, though). Have you ever been diving?
@@barnydillarstone I got so close. I was ready to take the test through PADDY and had already purchased some of the gear. Wetsuit for my area, regulators, BCD, and fins. But something happened and I had to shelve it for a while, and then just let it go. 😔 I also have problems equalizing the pressure in my ears.
At only 9-10’ That’s as far as I can go down.
So I will live vicariously through you. Thank you for the videos.
@@dianacryer oh noooo! Any plans to try again? The first couple of metres are actually the toughest on the ears and it gets easier the deeper you go (because the pressure change is less severe).
Love your vid, where in Bali is this?
Thank you so much! This was filmed in Tulamben - have you been
That decorator crab is so cute. Looks like a dust bunny from my home 🤣🤣 the translucent juvenile ornate GPF is really beautiful (first time seeing it like this). Also my preference is the spearing mantis. The way they hunt is just so much cooler 😉
The decorator crabs are everywhere, they're just a nightmare to spot when they look like that one 😂 I like the spearing mantis shrimps as well, but I still think the peacock mantis wins the award for the best looking mantis. Not long til your trip now, right?
@@barnydillarstonethe peacock mantis definitely wins in the looks dept. Their eyes/vision is also very interesting. yap! Landing on the 1st!
❤ wow, just wow! I can watch you hunting Critters for all day everyday😂😂 thank you for what you're doing I enjoy it so much! Be safe❤❤
I'm going on a big critter hunting mission in a couple of weeks so there will be plenty of crazy vids coming your way!! What's your favourite critter I've found so far?
