This isn't upstate NY .... And this isn't 30 minutes from Bear Mountain ..... This area is NY/NJ/PA border, Most Northern part of NJ is on 23 High Point. Was just there today, I go often and it's 45 minutes from me and bear mountain is about an hour give or take from me. If you want to go to two other nice mountain roads, look up 44/55 and 52. Hawk's nest is only part or RT 97 .... 97 goes all the way up to Binghamton and that's not a lake that's the Delaware river
Next time your in the area there go up RT 23 to High Point it's an awesome twisty road and if you go all the way up to the park you can literally see where the Tri state borders meet. 44/55 is the Mohonk preserve and those mountains and the road are alot of fun. 52 is another nice mountain road that goes from Walker Valley to Ellenville and on nice days you'll see people hang gliding. You go Further North you can go through frost valley up to Hunter Mountain, and if you keep going west on 17 and head towards Delhi there is alot of nice mountain roads too.
Thanks for the context of the area and the tips. I’ll try to head to those other routes and make a video where I will credit you for the insight. Thanks for watching!
Cool vid..I was just up there two weeks ago. Rode all the way up from Belmar NJ but came down 97 south from the PA side. There’s a great road across from Barryville called Twin Lakes Drive..8 miles of twisties and such..cool ride. 👍🏻
@@illproducer I ran the Blue Ridge Parkway starting on Skyline Drive in Front Royal Virginia all the way down to Cherokee North Carolina. The last two hundred miles of that trip on the south end of the Blue Ridge Parkway is Untouchable anywhere on the East Coast.
After that, make your way out to Lake Tahoe, and Highway 108 aka Sonora Pass. It's elevation of 9,624 ft, very few guard rails, and twisty turny heaven.
Hell yeah man, We should ride together sometime, probably next year when it warms up again, I'm upstate about 2 hours from Port Jervis👍👍 could meet you halfway
@@illproducer honestly I was there today and I cut through 4 roads that provided one hell of a ride... You don't go to Hawk's Nest just for that spot you go there and cut through the many other roads.
My dude, the ride starts at Hawk's Nest - you are supposed to keep going past Hawk's Nest towards Long Eddy.
Hawks nest is beautiful also port Jervis is very nice they have cleaned up the city

twin lakes is a pretty awesome drive had to navigate it with 16 scared hasids and 20 ft trailer still fun cool park at the end as well
Gotta ride, rt125. It's PA's dragon. Nice hairpin turns
As to your question. No. You can not lane split there.
Thanks bro
Can you lane split in the city?
Go ride the Tail of the Dragon in TN, you wont regret it. I did it on my Suzuki TU250, didn't break any speed records, but oh boy was it fun.
Been down it twice......(From PA) Its awesome but i like the road from Cherokee to Gatlinburg and then the Blue Ridge.
Yes I plan on it!

Tail Of The Dragon is great!
Don't make the Tree Of Shame though.
Upstate? Hawks nest is hardly upstate.
True, anything north of NYC is considered upstate for locals here 😂
I lived in eldred since I was 6 always tripped LSD there such a beautiful spot
Haha word
I've done this ride several times. Love the view but hate the cagers crossing the double yellow all the time
So true, there’s a lot of cagers also crossing the double yellow at bear mountain
This is where Dr. Strange got into his car accident. He never should have crossed that double line.
Yes you need to hit the dragon brother!!
check my channel out, lots of cycle videos.
Subscribed! Nice videos bro. Riding the dragon is definitely on my bucket list!
you riding a 400 ninja? Oh ok its the 300, nice little bikes, I have the 400 2018 KRT I'll be rolling all the way to maine in 2021 from Florida.
Yes sir, Ninja 300. Congrats on your 2018 KRT 400, that's a nice one! Safe travels on your trip!
lived in this town my whole life, so cool to see it up online, one of the best smoke spots ever
Great spot indeed. I definitely want to ride it again come Spring time.

Sounds dope bro
Go further north for better roads.
As a local who drives through Hawk's Nest every day... I'm thoroughly offended by the comments made by the rider... Seriously offended...
if you though that road was "sick" ... you are _NOT_ ready for Deal's Gap.

Sorry to hear, please don’t take my comments seriously, Hawk’s Nest is a great stretch of road scenery in this area!

@@leidarodriguez1 this past summer I’ve probably rode there 4 times. I mostly take backroads and avoid highways to get there, always love the journey
@@illproducer that's how you are supposed to do it.
