I would love to see the developers bring in new "cultures" into this game. It's a nice way of relaxing during a long stressful day of school or work. Even though this game isn't anywhere near the levels of Humankind or Civ, it's still really fun and enjoyable to play.
A combination of books I found to be particularly useful is Frugality + Sustainability. As soon as you get budget adjustment, max the pay for easy productivity and happiness, and still pay a bit less than standard upkeep. The second book can be whatever, but I find Sustainability is the most efficient for input : output. This setup lets me sustain 800 pop on 8 bakeries and 8 fishing lodges. Also, I think savannah tiles give the same bonuses on ranching as grassland tiles - they are also usually a middle ground for forest/jungles for wood/river access and desert tiles for thematic reasons.
@@Somebodynobody10 That depends on the starting location. If start in the forest province it works for up to Emperor. For any other province at this difficulty, you'll die early without Productivity books. Its best for industries - things that need an actual input - so sustain/frugality is good for bakeries but sucks with fishing.
@@notoriousgoblin83 where did you get that information from? That may be possible but that place might be far far away from human habitation. I was born and raised in the middle east and its hot at night and even hotter during the day. ACs are a must have and is in fact a need.
@@interruptingcow2418 It depends on what deserts. For example, Arizona in the US is a desert and gets really cold. Texas is pretty dry and hot but they were hit with a pretty bad snowstorm in 2020. Also, there are cold deserts in the world. Also, charcoal has other uses like for cooking and was used for dyes at some point during the medieval era I believe at some point.

For clarification: what difficulty have you managed to make that combo work on?

Hi
WTF? Bad that no one has charcoal in the desert to keep them warm? 😂😂😂
Why do people need to keel warm in the desert? Its hot and dry as fck.
Deserts become EXTREMELY cold in the night. Like dropping to near 0.
