My favorite metal album cover has gotta be the album cover from terminal redux by Vektor. Genuinely beautiful, but also fits into the sci fi theme of the band with the spaceship on fire
When bands have a consistant nice art style for all their covers and then have that one that doesn't fit the vibe and sucks. Example: wizard bloody wizard by electric wizard.
i've noticed this has gone down in numbers but in black metal for awhile it was mostly album covers of the band members on a black backdrop and it's never been appealing at all to me
Only like 1% of black metal bands are interesting. The rest are all darkthrone clones and sound identical to eachother. The only good, interesting exceptions are sadness, alcest, none, deafheaven, numenorean, psychonaut 4, white ward, and old nick.
@@user-gc9co8om3nit's a subgenre of hardcore which is a subgenre of punk. Just because there's distorted guitars and aggressive vocals doesn't make it metal.
cant forget the old school death metal albums having either beautiful pieces of painted artwork or just straight up gore, 50/50 no in-between
still a fan of a good painted cover 🤌🏻
we should just go back to skulls
there’s still a lot of that too
Every Black label society album cover! But idk cause it looks good
Full on sepultura mode
Houses on fire.
lots of that too
That ‘BOOO 👻’ had me crying 😂
👻👻
Vulgar Display of Power will always be the most metal album cover.
idk about that. Definitely iconic tho
Ride The Lightning is pretty God damn metal too. An electric chair flying in the sky surrounded by lightning
Imo one of the hardest album covers of all time, especially with that stylised shiny Metallica logo.
Along with Creeping Death EP cover.@@easternag16
We gotta go back to paintings for album covers, those went insanely hard
Justice For All is honestly my standard for awesome metal album covers. I desperately miss hand painted album covers

we need some more really unique covers like System of A Down - Toxicity or Limp Bizkit - Significant Other
The ones that are just a face looking straight at you. Those can die 😂
😂😂
Lingua ignota perfected those tho
Whatever tool does goes hard

Sticks out so bad, I know exactly what you mean
classic symptoms of a broken spirit's artwork
I still cannot decide if it goes hard or not at all

there needs to be metal album covers that look like 2000s rap album covers
That’d be a vibe
honestly we should go to simple album covers like opal in sky’s

Wintersun's The Foreat Seasons has the most beautiful cover I have ever seen
The statues is only acceptable if you’re dropping an instant Metalcore classic
If it sucks or isn’t Metalcore you just shouldn’t
even then I’m bored of it 😅
Nailbomb is my fav
That random BOO tho 😭😭
The tan background with a black drawing (A7X’s newest album, sleeptoken)
Don't forget the gore
insanely boring these days
or, weird idea, we do what we want because art is art and it all looks good in the end because art is subjective
Its not as common now, but the artwork where its just the bands logo is rarely any good. (Also I saw you put your own album art in the intro lol)
good catchy! And especially if the logo isn’t even textured cool. Just flat color
Photos of the forest on black metal albums: 🗿
😂
the first background in the top middle is stevie wonders metal album
I didn’t even see the background that the albums where on 😂
the inspirations 🤌🏻😂
One of the craziest album covers was from mayhem in the early 90s. Honestly I'm obsessed.
Random crucifixes
definitely corny 😂
Covers with "weezer" written on it, just stop PLEASE
😂😂
"Metal album covers" and he shows Attack Attack!
One color
What about the inverted triangle trend. I feel like I see it everywhere. Also first
Geometric shapes as the focus in general is so cringe to me now. It’s definitely died down a ton since pre 2020 tho
Cannibal corpse😂
I agree with every pick
Paradise lost - the plague within cover is cool.
Dawn of the black hearts has ermm well look it up if you're not squeamish....
Pretty open minded wouldn’t you say?
Literally none of this is metal.
Its metalcore, metalcore is subgenre of metal.

Hot take: No more "gothic" hard to read logos
How dare you!? Leave Dead By April "Parasite" alone!!!! 👿👿
