Peter Sallis was an amazing actor, whether he was the voice of Wallace in Wallace and Gromit or being Norman Clegg. I used to watch Last of the Summer Wine when it aired on WNED (a PBS channel I get here in the United States. I'm American for those of you who don't know). Sadly, WNED quit airing this lovely show in late June 2021. RIP Peter Sallis!
Though i was born 63 years and some months after peter sallis was born and across the pond and was introduced to his work in the late 1990's. I will always be a fan of him. May he rest in peace.
Peter sallis he's also played in British Broadcast Corporation television on last of the summer wine and he's also played voice of Wallace from dreamworks on Wallace and Gromit
I hope that Peter and allof his costars know how much joy they have brought this old woman in the U.S. None better for a dose of laughter and comradery.
It’s fascinating to see actors doing other roles and character types before they got that legendary star-making role. Seeing Peter Sallis do Norman Clegg before he became the defining voice of Wallace is fantastic.
@@swagaliciousvettel7934 yes but sometimes actors sound different to way voice characters though sure Clegg and Wallace were sort of same. Point was trying to make.
For everyone raving about Wallace and Norman, allow me to enlighten you with his performance of Ratty from the stop motion Wind in the Willows by Cosgrove Hall. Enjoy...
That’s a Wallace and Gromit moment right there at 0:56 and 5:30 Gromit: *GET OVER HERE!* Wallace: 0:56 Or Gromit: *Looks over* Wallace on cheese and crackers overdose 5:31 But when he puts cheese in his tea and scotch 9:56 Gromit: 🤦🏼♂️
Daddy will have a few other 4th and 9th ones in a couple of days for me to work on Wednesday and Thursday as I have to go back and work with the following ❤information on Monday as well if that would help keep it for the vehicle to
Peter Sallis died in 2017. Same year as John Heard. Was Peter McCallister, the father of Kevin McCallister, in Home Alone. Sallis was the voice of Wallace from Wallace and Gromit things. Funny. Recently, I heard a new dfs advert with Wallace and Gromit in it. On this year - 2020. If it's not him being the voice of Wallace coz he died two years ago, who is it, then? Someone else who has exactly the same voice as his?
R.I.P Peter Sallis
You always be remembered for Both playing Norman Clegg and Voicing Wallace
Don't forget Ratty from the stop motion The Wind in the Willows by Cosgrove Hall.
Yeah, and um, didn't Mr. sallis do audio books for postman pat?
@@petermeatballs6252 Yes he did
@G.LProductions oh that's makes him more popular. I wish he was a narrator for postman pat tv show
Sallis was also the Narrator for the stop motion tv series ''Rocky Hollow''.
I could listen to him talk for hours
He could read a dictionary and people would listen. He had a very distinctive voice. RIP.
I’d rather listen to Wallace talk and donkey from Shrek
If I just close my eyes all I hear is Wallace
Hold tight, lad and think of Lancashire Hotpot!
XD
A great actor who is very much missed.
He had a great talent for articulating his voice and cannot be matched.
See Ya Cleggy!

I mean, he was a star in this. Norman Clegg was an amazing character.
1:16 sounds like something Wallace might say when Gromit was jailed in A Close Shave, if you catch my drift?
Damien Le Maistre definitely caught it.
That’s cos he’s the voice actor for Wallace

Yes here's to paying guests, anyway more cheese lad.
I'm having great difficulty in believing that he was a womaniser in real life.Jesus there's hope for us all if it's true.
datboy134 maybe he kept it in his league lol and being a celeb always helps
The best!
How bout some bordo wine 🍷? Anyone?
Why is this comedy not on Brit Box ?

It's not even a voice he's putting on! His voice does not go with his face, his face looks too realistic 😱🤯
Why. Was the first. Show. Not. On. The. DVD. Where. Gregg. Holding. On the. Hurst. And. Compo. Is. Making. Fun. At. The. Church ?

I'm not too familiar with his career before Wallace and Gromit. But he's hilarious!
I mean Norman as I lost of nice facial expressions I might find attractive
Cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeese
Jeremy before boy the dog
He sounds more like Norris from Coronation Street in this than he does Wallace
