In “Vengeance most fowl” at the Yorkshire/Lancashire border is a sign on the Lancashire side saying “No Parkin”. Parkin is a Yorkshire ginger and oat cake beloved around firework night, the 5th of November. A quick glance may have given the impression no car parking places were available.
The easter egg count is overwhelming. Many hints at other films such as: "Live & Let Die", Roger Moore's first outing as James Bond, the boat chase & also closing the gate. The iconic speedboat chase with Feathers bursting out of the side channel! "The Italian Job" (original 1969) with the boat teetering over the edge of the aqueduct. "Accrington Queen" (African Queen). For our North American friends, Accrington is a town in Lancashire. Also the police chief's own boat "Done Nicking". I noted the poster on the wall of the canal wharf advertising a concert by Patty O'Furniture! Constable Mukhagee has a Blue Peter badge on her backpack in her locker. So, so many wonderful snippets of British culture and humour. No wonder it scored 💯 on Rotten Tomatoes!
The Blue Peter badge was because the programme arranged for an animation fan to have a tour during production and he got to place the badge on the set as an easter egg for the Blue Peter viewers.

The wall paper in Gromit's room changes from a bones pattern to that of fish. Next is the swinging pet door which changes from a standard square shape to that of a penguin. Fun!
You actually had another one hidden in this video that wasn't mentioned. At 5:43 in a clip from " A grand day out" Wallace is listing possible holiday locations famous for having lots of cheese. The list is Lancashire, Cheddar, Wensleydale, Philadelphia, Tesco's. The first four are Towns/Citys famous for producing cheese bearing their namesake. The last, however, Tesco, is a major UK supermarket chain, Wallace was suggesting that they spend their holiday in the cheese aisle of their local supermarket.
2:00 - To call a 30 year long civil war which culminated in the last ever English King to die on a battlefield "A bit of rivalry" is a slight understatement.
The Wars of the Roses ( Cousin's war in the day ) was between two Lords, one in the North vs one in the South, not Lancs vs Yorks. Yorkshire was on the Lancastrian side. The Tudor rewrite by Shakespeare meant the Rose badges got adopted by the counties. Current rivalry is based on size, Cricket, Tea, various ethnic food-stuffs and who has the funniest accent.
Gromit is seen in a photo in Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were Rabbit graduating from Dogwarts, a play on Hogwarts from the Harry Potter series. Also, in Vengeance Most Fowl, he reads a book by Virginia Wolff, although it's written as Virginia Woof.
I’m reading it as a phonetic spelling of the northern pronunciation of Bantam. So a chicken was saved by a smaller chicken. There is also the family name Bantom in Northumberland recorded from the late 900’s so it could also be a nod to someone on the crew with that name, making it a double in joke.
In Chicken Run, the propeller of the escape aeroplane had a three bladed propeller made from a signpost. The directions on the blades read Sunderland, Halifax and Lancaster.
G'day to you! I gritted my Northern Teeth{what's left of them}when I heard the words " Relatively Popular Last of the Summer Wine!" how dare you Madam, I was Flabbergasted!
Yeah that's probably the only question I had with vengeance most fowl; and I feel like the most logical answers would be she is probably going to Dogwarts University (she probably inherited Pielle's money.) or she's probably out of town for a bit. Because when you've been in an abusive relationship and have successfully left it, sometimes taking a road trip is good for you. And I think that's something gromit would understand and her support given that he's fought with a Penguin, a CyberDog, a Hunter, and of course Pielle.

Feather Mcgraw planning a complex escape could be his way of having the perfect revenge, he knew he could get out anytime he is calculating his plans. A... vengeance most fowl!!!
Last of the Summer Wine - "Relatively popular" the understatement of the century. All 25 series have been repeated many, many times and always draws great viewing figures. The "Accrington Queen" narrow boat refers to the boat in The African Queen movie with Humphrey Bogart.
Creature Comforts was based on interviews with actual members of the public about general subjects . They did not know how their interviews were going to be used.
They were also used in adverts for an electric company, I can't remember if they were before, during or after the series, may it was a mixture of all three. They are currently being being used in BBC idents.
There's new stuff to see every time you watch one of the W&G movies. In that first clip of all on this video I just noticed for the first time that in the church window the figures including the Virgin Mary are all blocking their ears and asking the angels to stop blasting on their trumpets as it upsets the baby.
Fun Fact: I went to York university and because of the York and Lancashire feud which related to the war of the roses between the House of York and the House of Lancaster, both universities each take it in turns to host and hold the Roses, which is a inter-university sports tournament, where the universities compete with each other in different sports categories and raise money for charity.

Since we’re on the topic of Wallace and Gromit, I just watched the new Wallace and Gromit movie on Netflix (which is the first movie I watched this year)
There was another Creature Comforts easter egg I spotted. It was a dog from the series (a Corgi, I think?) that was on a Record case in their basement in Vengeance Most Fowl.
Vengeance Most Fowl - Wallace's computer has a ReCAPTCHA screen that asks the user to select all the pictures with cheese in. One of the pictures that needs to be selected is a picture of the Moon, which A Grand Day Out confirmed is made of cheese.
Theory: I think Wallace and Gromit Vengeance most fowl takes place before a Matter of Loaf and death because we see the missing posters in the zoo and we know now that Feathers escaped and is now missing.
In "Curse of the Were-Rabbit" when Gromit turns on the van's radio when he is waiting for Wallace, the song that is played is the one from Watership Down - another movie focusing on all but bunnies.
▪︎ Feather's chair was the octopus symbol of the SMERSH criminal organisation from James Bond. ▪︎ The emergency portraits with the flashing eyes are lifted from Thunderbirds. ▪︎ when Gromit was trying to get rid of the bomb in Loaf and Death it exactly mirrored the bomb sequence in the 1960s Batman film, including nuns and kids.
Subtle? Not really. But it was a call back to a grand day out when Feathers McGraw had to select the 3 images of cheese when he was hacking Wallace's home security system. 2 of the 3 images were regular cheese, while the 3rd image was the moon.
Butter pie is a Lancashire pie. Not sure the reference here has anything to do with the song as I suspect it was just that uncle Albert likes them? “Madame Butter Pies “ on the back of the train - love it
