Can I clarify, after you set the speed, your feet is off the accelerator and the brakes? They system takes control based on your distance from the front? I presume if there's no one in front of you then you'd have to apply brakes yourself e.g. a red light?
You got it! Stopping at lights is still a manual process unless someone is in front of you and you can still use the accelerator if you want to speed up faster than your set speed and when you take your foot off it'll slow you back down to your set speed.
Can this cruise control also brake when driving down hill? My is not doing that so always when there is downhill I am speeding 20+ kmh or have to brake manually. Cars 20 years old can brake. Be carefull with line assist... I do not use it at all, it always throws me to fences or opposite direction. Once I drove i30 and it tried to kill me twice... it just suddenly steer the car under lorry and I was holding steering wheel. I have to buy some 2010 car and restore it, new cars are just dangerous. Luckily Hyundai let you turn off everything so far. Dacia for example has these system just to pass regulations, but I have never see them working... just pictures on dash.
It should brake when you're going downhill.. 20+ km/h over is wild. In most brands I've reviewed I might see it increase 5-10 over the set speed limit but don't think I've ever seen it higher than that
What happens when you wear sunglasses with cruise control on? Every Hyundai I drive, I do so with pretty thick polarized glasses and there are never any issues...
Bought a 2025 Tucson that ridiculous camera on the steering column according to hyundai can't be deactivated. After the 3rd alarm sounds car turns off cruise. Works fine without sunshades. It's very under powered as well, very disappointing gonna trade it
Hmm.. I haven't been behind the wheel of the 2025 Tuscon yet but I'll see if I can recreate it. I use smart cruise all the time so I'll try some different lenses
Not necessarily as it uses the brakes without the driver knowing and will cause a lot of excess wear for the vehicle...not safer as the car does things without notifying the driver, same with the emergency brake is electric what happened to the idea of a redundant brake systems this one will not work with any failure of the electrical system, how do you exit the vehicle when there is not any way to unlock the doors from the inside when the battery is dead are passengers trapped in the car?? None of this is address by the over 500 pages of operating manual...technology out of control we will see how this plays out...not good so far...
You can feel when it's braking and the vehicle braking automatically is the draw for adaptive cruise. If you were using regular cruise you'd have to brake yourself so there really isn't any different. There's always the option of setting your follow distance to 4 so that the braking isn't as heavy. Plus you can always just turn off the added safety braking if you really don't want to use it. Getting out of any car with a dead battery is going to depend on the model you have. Most interior handles are mechanical so you can just pull the handle to unlock and get out. If none of the doors are working and you can't press the unlock button, you'd have to get into the trunk and use the release to open it up manually
@@CarsWithSteve Wonder if you are the Pascal I know of from South Australian now in Melbourne Australia I believe. Anyway, a tad too picky on a really fantastic car from Hyundai. I just purchased one. Wow!
Thank you but do you know how to charge the Samsung gear4 on the plug that you set it down and charge anomaticly?
Don't believe the charge pad is compatible with most smart watches, different charge coils from my understanding
Thanks for this video
You're welcome!
I hate adaptive cruise control and want to just use manual cruise control, but I can’t find how to do that on the 2024 Tucson.
There's no way to use regular cruise control if your Hyundai has smart cruise.. What do you hate about the adaptive cruise control system?

you're welcome! Hopefully it's just an odd glitch but if it keeps happening, bring it up to your service dept next time you're in for service
IT'S ALL GOOD UNTIL YOU TRY TO WEAR SUNGLASSES WHILE THE CRUISE IS ON. Found out the hard way.....after purchase....SUCKS!

I just bought my 2025 Tucson & I found I can’t wear sunglasses either! That’s a huge safe issue for me.
