Spanish Class: Learn the difference between "haya" de "haber" and "halla" de "hallar"

- Stop making mistakes with these two words. They are completely different. Haya, with “y”, is a form of the Spanish verb “haber”. “Halla” with “ll” is a form of the verb “hallar”, which is the same as “encontrar” (to find). “Haber” is an auxiliary verb in Spanish. It is used all the time: yo he, tú has, él ha, ella ha, usted ha, nosotros hemos, ustedes han. When you say: “I have watched it”, “He has seen it”, etc., you are using the present perfect in English. Imagine that the Spanish verb “haber” does the same job as what the verb “have” is doing in these examples, but in Spanish. “Haber” is used with a verb in participio, which is to say, verbs that end with “to”, “so”, cho”, “ado”, and “ido” like “visto”, “hecho”, comido”, etc. The verb “haber” is the ambulance, doctor, nurse of all verbs. It always comes to the aid of any verb who needs help. It is the best companion. The other word, “hallar” is a synonym of “encontrar”, “to find”, which makes it easy. If “to find” is not the one you want, then use the one with the “y”, and memorize the conjugation of this super important, crucial Spanish verb. THANK YOU SO MUCH for your notes on CONTEXT in original usage, such as whether a word is used more in a rural setting or not! It makes all the difference! And for saying that both are correct, it’s simply a matter of location, region of the world, preference, etc.
Also, the subjunctive exists in English too! The traditional way to say things like that would be “I hope that it has rained.” etc. Modern English is very very casual (and some would say grammatically lazy).

I've learned that you can use "tengo que" as an auxiliary verb as well. Like "tengo que usar el baño"...or is it slightly different? Gracias, buen lección!
'Tener + que' is not an auxiliary, it is a main verb. When you say in English 'I have to use the toilet', do you use 'have' as an auxiliary here? When you say 'I have used the toilet', only then 'have' is an auxiliary. In Spanish 'haber' is used mostly as an auxiliary; 'tener' is never used that way. If I say 'I have to study', in Spanish I would say 'Tengo que estudiar', here 'tengo que' is not an auxiliary. Whereas if I wish to say 'I have studied', I would say 'He estudiado', here 'he' (1st person singular present indicative of 'haber') is the auxiliary verb.

You asked a nice question. I hope I can explain it. When you say 'I hope to see you soon', it is you who is hoping and it is you who is going to see that person. So, both the actions - hoping and seeing, would be performed by you. When this is the case, we use the infinitive for the second action. I hope to see you soon - Espero verte pronto. However, if you say 'I hope you have reached', in this case you are hoping, but the arrival is to be done by another person, right? So, in this case you have to say 'Espero que hayas llegado'. I hope this helps.
