We've decided to go with the amazon normal freezer and here is why. First when we camp, we have to get to the camping site which can be hours or even days of roadtrip. So you have to carry lots of stuff in the back, tent, tent matress, grill, grill dishes accesories, chairs, beach gears, luggages, groceries, food that you don't put in a freezers, and any other stuff (fishing gears etc etc..) so all those thing take alot of space in the back. Having all those things in the back prevents from opening the freezer if its the subtrunk, so it is not very practical. You will have to unload or move half of the stuff in order to access and open the freezer underneath. Also, sleeping in the car using foam tesla mattress. Those memory foam mattress take alot of space too. And if you deploy the mattress they gona be on top of the fridge.. now even if you can sleep flat, the mattress will sit on top . So i have no idea how the heat from the freezer will escape with the mattress blocking the ventilation.. lastly model 3 don't have 15v socket in the back.. you have plug it in the center console which pinch the cord when closed. Unfortunately there is no perfect solution, even the amazon portable one has its con. They are bulky, can move , slide and even tip over. Portable amazon freezer can damage or stain your interior if you don't put any tarp underneath.. if you sleep in the back, you have to move the freezer up front and put it on the passenger seat.. (a full freezer can be heavy) and if yoy decide to go somewhere, you will have to move it back in the back. Can be annoying with a portable amazon freezer. But atleast you will be able to access anytime and amazon freezer also cost half of the price. So it all comes to how you gona use the freezer.. if you don't carry any heavy large stuff in the back, the sub trunk freezer is the best option. But if you need the sub trunk alot..and want to access the freezer often. The portable amazon freezer is better.
OH! I just found this one. THIS IS THE ONE!!! Thanks CFT.
The first 200 for 50% off is gone. They only offer 37% off now. Just a feedback for the company is to offer Affirm or Afterpay, it’s easy on the pocket.
Didn’t know that there are different trunk configurations - mine in MIC so I wonder which version they use?
what is the Tesla Model Y rating max amp draw on the trunk cigarette lighter outlet?
Very interesting, good job💥💥
Thanks
Does anyone know if the actual inner metal design of the trunk is different or if it’s just the fabric trunk liners that are the only difference from the Fremont to Austin cars? It would be nice if I can just swap the liner and make this cooler fit flush with the Fremont built car.
is there any fitment issues for model 3
I have a trunk liner that matches all my floor liners in my Model 3 so I am guessing that I would need to remove that in order to use this fridge? I think I will stick with my cooler for perishables between the grocery store and home.
As long as your trunk liner is flexible it will lift with the sub trunk lid
Are they going to make one for the S and X
What app do you connect it to? It is referenced in the manual
It doesn't come with an AC adapter?
I like the design, where it fits into the subtrunk. Currently I use a CAMCO 12V cooler in my Model Y. When traveling, staying in motels and the like I can bring it inside and plug into 120V AC for the night.
The CAMCO won't fit in the subtrunk, though.
I can understand why it doesn't even though I agree it would be great if it did. This is sold as a unit for the sub trunk but I think that would be a great addon for when you take it out. I will suggest it
Is there any for model S?
I ordered the T-20 the day this video came out to get the 50% off, the promised ship date was "October". It arrived today, (Nov 15), with no notice of shipping as I was starting to get ansy about whether it would come at all. It fits my Fremont built model 3, it cooled down to 30F in about 20 minutes and the Tesla Fridge app connected to my Android phone showing status. So all good so far. Only disappointment is that the 12V socket is up in the center console and you can't close it while plugged in, so not as comfortable to drive that way. I may look into installing a port at the rear like on the model Y. Would that be something easy to do?
did anyone on youtube get the model 3 tesfridge? im only seeing model y tesfridge
You may wanna use a portable power station to eliminate the vehicle battery concern.
Thats a great idea if you were say camping or something for a long period of time
I would suggest a Honda generator, and you can run this and charge your car. Plus bring a bread maker and countertop ice machine.
If you don't have an espresso machine in the Tesla, are you living? Toss it on the bike rack
I wonder how well will it fit in a Tesla Model Y 7-seater since we don't have that space for the refrigerator to ventilate.
Unfortunately I haven’t had a chance to test that
Hi there, I too have a Model Y from the Fremont factory, in your video you said this fridge stands an 1nch higher. Question is when you put on your cover (black top deck) to cover the hole. Is it flush with the rest of the trunk or does the lid stand higher than the rest of the trunk ? I am close to pulling the trigger on this but i want my trunk base lid to be flush and not raised.
Great Video BTW , I subscribed :)
Well mine is an inch higher or so but yours wont be. They are fixing this. I only showed that in the video so people knew why mine didn't totally fit into the trunk. By the time yours ships after the kickstarter period ends this will be a non issue.
Sticking up an extra inch fro the Fremount Y is a deal killer for me. Why on earth would you spec this for an Austin build when Fremont is building the most of the Y in the USA,
That wont be an issue by the time they launch. They are working to fix right now.
Watch tesla gong. As said here Fremont’s will be a snug fit instead of a prefect fit. Sum reason Fremont builds have asymmetrical sub truck.
All other model y build locations, don’t have this issue.
Do you have any insight as to whether this would void the warranty? It looks like a plug rather than modification, but still...
Nope it will not. It is plug and play.
I notice you have a tesla bed. do you use the bed and the fridge at the same time? if so, were there any ventilation or temperature issues?
Put it in the front seat.
Can you elaborate on the fit for Fremont Build?
This is probably not an issue for anyone buying it today but because mine was an early issue it didn't quite fit. The little shelve like areas in the model Y sub trunk are different sizes depending on what factory your car is from so since my car was made in the Fremont factory yet I was shipped a fridge based on the Auston factory it didn't quite sink down all the way. It was about 1" too high but that all will be worked out before they release them.
Austin!
Will it work with the new Lithium "15.5V" battery ?
Yes technical team just confirmed this
Great job dose it fit in a 3 highland
I have no idea but from what I have heard the trunk space is the same
Would sentry mode work to keep the cooler on, rather than camp mode?
I have heard the that it will but I haven’t tested this
Yes it would.
Yes it will
내부에 열은 잘 배출되나요??
Why do I not have a 12 volt outlet / cigarette lighter plug in my trunk model 3 2022?
In the model 3 you will need to use the one in the center console arm rest
@@CfTesla I just pledged but delivery not expected until October for my model 3. Maybe by then I'll figure out a way to add a 12V socket to the trunk so I don't have to string the wire up to the front console. They didn't ask me anything about Fremont or Austin, maybe before they ship?
Do you notice if it heats up the interior of the car very much?
No not at all. Once at temp the fan is barely on
Can you heat the box too? This sounds like a thermoelectric cooler so by reversing the current it should also heat.
All I know is you can set it up to 50 degrees so not much heat
So is it 20kwh or .20kwh? I thought I saw both listed in the video
.20
So 200 watts!
@@CfTesla .20 isn’t 10% of the main battery during 8 hours. So it can’t be .20 or it can’t be 10%. Something is way off and this is only primary school math.
Cute idea but sometimes a bag of ice and a good cooler are the best thing and that is certainly the case with this cooler.
Sure. I think for many just zipping to the park or work will be happy with that. I think the people who will be fit from this are those who consistently are in need of a cooler. Maybe they work from their car or travel a lot. Maybe they need all the trunk space.
Not for a five day camping trip lmao.
@@rollpersuasion
I use a camper van for that!
@@rvboondocker2559 neat! So this product doesn’t apply to you!
@@rollpersuasion Am I so old now that I had to google what "Lmao" meant?
So, this will not work with the new Tesla Models with the small lithium ion battery, because the new batteries are 15.5 volts and not 12 volts...
Thanks for the question I sent it to ACOPower. I will report back on what they say.
I wish there were V2L on Teslas..
If you keep Sentry mode on. Il will provide power to your freezer
Yep thanks for bringing that up
mach e solution: fill frunk with ice.
So it's only for the Model Y because in a Model 3 it wouldn't stick up to vent the heat. But you said the drain from the 12 volt battery would be about 60%, yet the math graphic showed it at almost 16%. So which is it? But it's really overpriced and not worth it.
16%
There is a different version for the model 3
$700 normal price for Model Y version, bwahaha, good luck with that, nice idea but no way that price is going to sell many units
Yea that price gets steep...The pre sales are going nuts though
It is actually priced lower than other available fridge/freezers on the market. 35L usually runs around 1K for the cheaper models and they sell all day long to the camping/over landing crowd.
Now, if it were only a fridge and not a freezer then yes, it would be overpriced.
Thats just too much money. I suspect theyll sell out. I dont camp in my car. I must be to old odd as i think the frunk cooler that takes ice is just fine.
