When people ask me what kind of music I like and I say "pagan, celtic etc" they always have a second of "haha good one". I don't know why it's not super popular. Listening to Faun always makes me feel like I'm on an adventure.

I'm really surprised that something as pagan as this has (as of Dec '23) 35 million views. Maybe pagan music is becoming super popular.

They're still early on their journey. In time they will feel the hollowness of modernity set in. As passing pleasures fail to sate the hunger of the void, eventually they will have to rediscover the essence of spirit.
We'll be here when they're ready.

This is surprising to me since, back in the 90s, Celtic music was everywhere - with artists like Ashley MacIsaac, Loreena McKennitt and Enya getting regular, mainstream airplay. Times change, I suppose.

Hi this is an translation i found. no guarentee of correctness. greetings from germany. grüsse aus deutschland
      To the evening sky arise
      Magic tunes tonight
      Wild folk and Lilith's kind,
      Secretly ride the lurking winds.

Let us prowl towards the bonfires
      Reach murmuring for the stars,
The good word and also the bad one
We will today carry away and away.

In the willows our dreams will sound
And the winds will sing our songs
Let us jump over the fire with the sparkles
      In Walpurga's Night!

Hear the violins, hear the violins,
      The fires have been started!
Follow the roundelay, follow the roundelay
      In Walpurga's Night.

Boisterous to the playing of the violins
      Our nightly roundelay is spinning
And wild and free we join
      This ancient magic.

Only once in the great circle
Will we dance in this manner,
Until the first light of the morning
Breaks through the web of our dreams.

In the willows our dreams will sound
And the winds will sing our songs
Let us jump over the fire with the sparkles
      In Walpurga's Night!

Hear the violins, hear the violins,
      The fires have been started!
Follow the roundelay, follow the roundelay
      In Walpurga's Night.

Aha. That sounds like someone might know WHY they're dancing around what seems sort of related to a Maypole. Not that I know why folk dance around Maypoles either 'tho I suspect like many things its pre-Christian in origin and possibly was 'annexeed' by the Church as part of their insatiable obsession to assimilate everyone.
Still, I had no idea Faun were like some sort of wiccan(?) music group. I just like quite a lot of their music. But I did wonder why they do some seemingly curious things.
To avoid any suspicion of 'sailing under a false flag', I should probably add that as a good atheist I think you're *all* mad of course, but the witchy folk are less *intrusively* mad so hey, each to their own.

The Walpugisnigth is still celebrated in some parts of Germany, espacially in the region around Bautzen in Saxonia. The fighers are much higher than this one here and at the end of the knight a witchpuppet will be burned on it. There are also lower ones about wich the visitors can jump tho show their braveness. Its a few years ago and I do`t know what`s with the tradition during corona, but shurrely it will be relaunched again. Loving Faun for bringing our culture in an interessting way to the world.

I loved this song so much I wanted to find an English version I could sing along with, but all the English translations I could find didn't fit the meter or rhyming of the original. So I made one myself. It's not an exact literal translation, but keeps pretty close to the German.
So crank up the video and sing along!
    By tonight in evening skies
Witch and Wizard start to rise
    Wild folk and Lilith kin
    Secretly now ride the wind.
Let us wander to the fire
Reach a star is our desire
Both a good or evil spell
Take us where we cannot tell.
In the meadow we will find our dreams are ringing
In the wind we hear the whisper of our singing
As we leap the fire now the sparks are springing
    On this Walpurgis Night!
Aay Oh! Hear the music! Hear the music!
Aay Oh! Fire gives the light!
Aay Oh! Keep on dancing! Keep on dancing!
    On this Walpurgis Night!
    Wildly the fiddles sound
    As tonight we spin around
And we join in wild and free
    Ancient magic has to be.
    Spin around in circle great
Dancing on as though our fate
    Till the morning sunlight beams
Break apart our web of dreams.
In the meadow we will find our dreams are ringing
In the wind we hear the whisper of our singing
As we leap the fire now the sparks are springing
    On this Walpurgis Night!
Aay Oh! Hear the music! Hear the music!
Aay Oh! Fire gives the light!
Aay Oh! Keep on dancing! Keep on dancing!
    On this Walpurgis Night!

Joseph Amendolea all Christian holidays are pagan. Even the word 'christian' has been hijacked and changed. It gets its roots from the word 'Christ consciousness'. Christ consciousness exists in all of us and it's not exclusive to Jesus and Jesus only. And who is their right HEARTS would put priests in charge of their spirituality? Enlightenment cannot be brought or earned through attending church services. Spirituality doesn't come from literature based programming but through the heart.

The rituals you read about are called Imbolc in Feb and Litha in june. They are called Sabbats, pagan holidays around the year. The rituals consist of getting rid of negetive emotions and cleansing your mind with rest. Another thing is pagans don't actually have a concept of evil, just bad and hurtful choices, but choices nonetheless.
