first of all, a straight cover would only be 2:25, secondly... this was the first time the 3 of us played together and just picked a bunch of songs to play with no rehearsal. that's called jamming.
2 Questions. 1. What strat is this? 2. you've been a HUGE influence on my lead and improvisational playing, PLEASE watch either my 1980 Les Paul custom review, or honestly ANY of my videos and give me ANY feed back. PLEASE
Oh man !! Phil X, I gotta say, that is a slammin rendition of Little Wing. I have got to admit, your version is my favorite, EVER. Awesome job. Tone, style, everything, wow. Made my hair stand up! I've seen alot of your vids and have alot of respect for you. Thanks
One of my regrets in life: Not getting into Phil X sooner! Dude is a guitar magician, and a wonderful singer. Will spend the rest of my catching up to Phil!
Seriously Phil, every time I listen to this I get happy. You played this set with so much emotion.. The Foxy Lady you did that night (hah) is amazing too.
Got to be the best cover ever! I think Jimmi would have loved it and would have given Phil total respect. Check out 13 year old Annie Needham playning Littlewing, think we have an up comming female Hendrix waiting in the littlewings !

@gpiacente You bettcha. It's the story that is most important in a movie and the song that is most important in a music video, so hats off to the band for creating great stuff to work with. There were only two lights on the stage, so most of the coloring is from post color correction. Keep watching, and thanks for dialing up our channel, more soon
it's a Freiheit Strat. made by Brad Freiheit in Kitchener, Canada. He made the Les Paul i used that night too and damn... he makes some kick ass guitars.
Great, great version. Video rocks to; very legit. Fun fact: guitarist Lou Roppoli is standing in the back at 3:22 , Phil is playing out of a Roppoli custom amp in this video.
Aside from all that, this is OBVIOUSLY a jam. Just because the song is done well doesn't mean it's a "straight cover." Phil is an AMAZING musician, as are the people he's jamming with.

@juanjosebol The rig used can be seen at 3:24 (and other spots) - a marshall clone. We are going to put up some info about it and the builder in the near future on the main comments page.
