"Do facts matter at all?" David, this is Fox News you're talking about.
What facts are those, the fact that this guy's lying to you and you're believing it or the fact that Biden is spending billions of dollars and has caused all the problems we're having!?!?
if you want facts on the oil problem, this video isn't it. This is ua-cam.com/video/dB0zL53FYLk/v-deo.html
The price of Gasoline is based on the price of a barrel of Crude Oil. The last time I checked, a President of the United States has absolutely nothing to do with that because IT'S INTERNATIONAL!!!!
Congress just voted against stopping price gouging so that could have helped Americans.
@sprig5173
Just more proof, Multi-billion Dollar Corporations are more important to the Republicans than the Voters that actually elect them.
@@sprig5173 lol, it's going to stop greedy Arabian spend thrifts? I don't think so.
Also it is harvested by private companies in a lot of regions meaning government doesnt control the supply ir pricing
You' be surprised at just how long that incorrect thinking as killed president's. It got Carter. Bush senior had high taxes... Americans aren't savvy to wall street and how the financial world works and it's a shame and a crime!

Well, he started the war in Ukraine and Israel, so he might as well be responsible for that🙄
Except that in the UK we don't call a liquid 'gas'.
Oh, and our gallon is bigger than their gallon.
WHY IS LYING AND MISLEADING PEOPLE ON TV ALLOWED!!!!???
In most countries it's not.
But this is USA & FAUX is entertainment (so they say in court) not news.
To keep myself from writing an essay I'll condense my thoughts on this. We would need governi ng agencies to monitor or oversee any misinformation or disinformation that is being spread. That means the necessity of more government to make sure the established rules are being followed. That leads to more government agencies. Decisions, edicts, etc can be appealed all the way up the food chain. Which will lead us to the supreme court which we have recently learned has no rules, no consciences, no ethics, no morals. They appear to be going to the highest bidder. Tonight, feels to me that most of the food chain is rigged. Sorry. Not very optimistic. I'm extremely disappointed in SCOTUS. That, and I've got a few stories to tell you about from when I worked in corrections. 😊

I got a hybrid vehicle recently and I love it! It charges itself just by driving. I don’t really even think of gas prices anymore👍🏼💙😁
Hybrids are definitely a great alternative choice currently (due to the higher cost of EV's). Until they eventually fall in price, I can't see a massive influx of EV''svon the road. So my choice would be a hybrid (for at the next 5 years as well 👍
@@stephen9302EV's will continue massive growth in every other market than the North American Market which represents maybe 17% of global sales. Plus the expensive NA market has to contend with the $10,000 Chinese EV. We can keep them out of NA and perhaps Europe, but they will sell like hotcakes everywhere else.
I use to work at a rental car place when the hybrid priuses came out. They were really weird thing about them is when u turned them you couldn't hear them come in and a kit of times when I adopted at a red light, until I got use to it, I wasn't sure if the car was on or not. We also drove the Ford Hybrids when they came out. They were smooth as can be. I think you're right about doing hybrids until they get the infrastructure in place and the mileage stepped up to and surpassing what they have available now.
David, your explanation is wonderful. I’ve always asked myself that question and now you have answered it. Unfortunately, most people have no clue. They can’t wrap their little brains around the explanation.
Thank you, David, for explaining that oil concept to us. That makes sense.

Now, show how much $$$$ gas companies profited in the past 4 years??
Ask Google to name the Senators who have Stock in Oil and Gas. Most or all of these Senators are Republicans.
And how much taxes they pay.
And the 10 to 50 BILLION in subsidies they receive, annually.
@@iosolofede right? Why are profitable companies getting subsidies??
Exactly!
I didn't know any of that! Thanks David. Everyday is a school day!
At least 10 of my friends now drive EV or hybrid vehicles. A friend got 72mpg with his hybrid Tacoma the other day. I asked him how he did it. He said he didn't know.
I've been driving an EV for the past 9 years, purchased used and cheaply. Granted, these early ones had small batteries and work best for shorter trip and.or mostly urban travel. But - surprise! - that fits my driving lifestyle perfectly . . . and it fits the driving habits of many others, some who don't even know it yet.
I never heard this explanation ever, so most informative. Thanks!
"Fact checking is bad for our business."----Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott.
For those who don't know, when a Republican says "Energy Independence", what they mean is oil, oil and more oil.
Forget saving the planet, Americans want even cheaper gas!
And gas, and coal, which is where DINO Joe Manchin comes in.
@@ericlipps9459exactly, what a useless Senator from WV.
Except we're producing more oil now than under Trump, and they claim we're not "energy independent" anymore.
All it really means is "the Republican Party is in power". Just like "closed border". It's undefined nonsense that sounds like a fact-based label so Republicans don't have to admit they're just being partisan hacks.
It’s all about the greed of the oil companies just stop driving as much as you can and watch prices come down FAST
This is why gas was cheaper during the years before Biden, the PANDEMIC. Supply and demand, fewer people were driving, and the price came down. It's the same during holidays, price goes up when people are more likely to travel.
It's really not that hard to figure out, but it sure seems easy to fool some people.
'Returning those cars...A... and number 2..." Wow, someone actually speaks that way. Great gag from "Midtown"
Mike Lindell’s “Number C” comes to mind

Fox, in general, is observably confused 24/7 lol.
Maybe Lawrence Jones is not the brightest light bulb in Fox studio....😅
There´s nothing not ´bright´ about what he is saying. The point is, its all lies and desperate propaganda tailored towards MAGA types. Try to catch up, will you?
FINALLY!! Thank you for the breakdown of the fuel supply/refining system. Media people have no clue of the details of this industry. One thing that you did not mention but is important is the modern fuels also need to be blended for emissions standards. I just hate when people think that the president is responsible for the WORLDWIDE fuel market. Some policies can help or hurt with taxation but overall price per barrel are settled by large oil companies. Keep up the good work.
"A) people are returning those cars, and 2) I can't remember what comes after 'A'"
No,because I don’t watch “Faux News”

We also export petroleum products (Gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, heating oil,…) and those exports are at an all time high.
They need a new token. This one is broken.
Ouch 😳, lol..
And most people (and politicians) who love to gripe about taxes probably don't ever stop to think about WHY there is a gas tax, why it was enacted, why and how taxes are used in general. People want good roads and highways, free of potholes and cracks and other stuff so they can continue their excessive driving for everything, BUT they gripe about paying taxes so that those roads can get repaired - and re-repaired after heavy trucks and heavier cars bust them up and after climate change wreaks its havoc there too and people continue to want lines put in the streets for their internet etc. etc. etc.
Sounds like a normal Fox News show David
There should be no politics in the news. I want the truth not propaganda.
24/7 news has been a disaster. All those hours to fill and to keep their viewers watching created mostly "opinion" based news, not fact based
I mean . . .we are both watching this channel. So we clearly want politics in our news. . .
People who make this kind of statement no ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about politics. Everything in your life (the clothes you wear, the food you eat, the liquids you drink, the air you breath, your mode of transportation (including walking)) ALL involve politics. In our society, 99.9999% of the things you do have politics associated with it.
He said that EV companies won't buy electric cars. 🤷🙆
A neandertthal sitting in his heavy duty pickup truck with the motor running for hours on end is typically the type who complains about the price of gas.
Interesting that one of the major companies promoting EVs is Tesla, at least nominally a US company. While Americans sit on their hands, other companies around the world, especially in China and South Korea, are developing cheaper and more reliable EVs, which are squeezing Tesla out of the market.
@@trilliarobinson7862 Couldn't agree more, but we need somone other than the owner of X to take the lead. My neighbor just got a Tesla pickup, strangest thing on the block.
@@whaheydelee So true. We had an MG EV in Australia, "fuelled" off our own solar panels. The dealership was rubbish, but the car was very good. I know that market is now being filled with Toyotas, Nissan and so on, and with bad publicity about Musk, Tesla are going to struggle. Price-wise he will need to shift more production to China, away from the US and Germany, or the cars will be too expensive to compete.
What they forget is that the price of crude oil is set in London.
Hi David, thanks for your good work. I just came back from Europe and gas ⛽️ is $7- $8 per gallon. Fox News hosts should go live in Europe where things are expensive with less pay.
ERM David wants America to move towards a more European Socialist Country....
Everyone who read the texts and emails knows. Getting, "facts," from Tox News is like getting the, "truth," from George Santos.
I jumped the gun without watching the entire video, but David, you hit the nail on the head with your explanation. I have argued these points for years. Then, they will bring up Keystone XL. That oil, from Alberta Canada, was never meant to benefit this country. It was always meant to be exported in our gulf states ports. It is heavy tar sand oil, which again, our refineries cannot process.
My head was spinning, explaining this to Jugheads, who refused to understand.
Very few people have any idea about energy markets and what drives prices. And our uninformed press is guilty of making it worse. And political pundits are even worse!
The president can' control the price of food either!
Common household food brand names we have all heard of such as Kellogg’s, Nestle, Unilever, General Mills, Pepsico, Coca-Cola, MARS, Danone, Associated British Foods (ABF), and Mondelez (previously Kraft), are some of the world’s biggest food companies in both size and revenue. These companies are much larger than they seem at first glance, and this is done intentionally to have seemingly “competing” subsidiaries within their portfolios, so that the public won’t pair brands with one another, learning that it’s all one food conglomerate. For example, Kellogg’s owns subsidiaries from health-conscious ‘Kashi’ to kid-friendly ‘Keebler’. And Nestle we know for their water and chocolates, but did you know that they also own Purina? To prove my point, I’ve listed only a select few of the brands that just one company owns, to accurately portray the scale of the food conglomerates’ deception and trickery.
Kellogg’s owns at least these subsidiary companies:
Special K
Keebler
Pringles
Pop-Tarts
Kashi
Cheez-It
Natural Touch
RXBar
Eggo
Nutri-Grain
Morningstar Farms
United Bakers Group
Egyptian Companies
Famous Amos
Bear Naked
Gardenburger
Corn Flakes
Frosted Flakes
KRAVE
Austin cookies & crackers
The moment Biden tried to control prices of products the right would have a conniption. It fits their narrative better to whine that he can and refuses, making your life miserable🙄
You taught me about the refining capability of the USA a while ago. Thanks
The oil companies know that people need gas. It's an essential commodity. The price at the pump is what they think they can get away with.
Plus these companies make a fortune selling their oil overseas.
Does it not occur to one of these producers to build a refinery that can process the oil being produced?
To add insult to injury, decades ago, before Reagan deregulated the industry, we had some 325 operating refineries. Now, we have just 124.
And yet, we still have the most refineries in the world. Not to mention the 256 billion barrels of untapped oil, the most in the world.
A and number 2 well that wraps it up
I have a super easy fix for price gouging by companies. Price caps like other modern countries. The US only like socialism when it's corporate socialism, which is what we have. The rest of the country gets capitalism, except the corporations.
Thank you David!
Thank you David.
Why does EVERYONE look and sound uncomfortable on this Fox Newd clip??? It's hilarious to watch.
Probably because they all know they're lying lol
Acting like any 4 years were great is insane alone
To be fair, they're often confused. Usually, they're better at hiding or faking it.
Red herring, I bought gas today, $2.99 a gallon.
That’s backwards on the sweet and sour crude and our refineries. Most US refineries are setup for sweet crude. There’s 1-2 refineries setup with a flexicoker which refines sour crude. The difference between sweet and sour is not
The taste. It’s the amount of sulfur content and viscosity of the oil. Sweet produces more gasoline compared to sour produces more diesel, asphalt, sulfur, coke fuel. Sour cost less than sweet. But sweet is mostly imported from other countries. The cost of fuel is based on the demand of the fuel. Higher demand means more man hours to produce, more utilities (water, electricity, nitrogen etc). Cost of fuel is only affected by politics as in the form of taxes applied to each gallon. Government will never really have control over the cost of fuel. Those taxes per gallon are used for state and federal infrastructure.
Electric vehicles are really taking over the road up here 🇨🇦, I've never seen one broken down , people are very happy with them and I haven't seen a smog covered Vancouver sunset for a few years now , as I suppose the industries which used to belch smoke into our skies have gone the way of extinct species of which we will join the ranks of in the next few hundred years because we cannot get prejudice, racism or ignorance to go the way of the combustion engines

It is apparent from Kilmeade's expression that he knows Larry doesn't know what he is reading, much less able to form an argument.
That's saying something as Kilmeade is the one who usually looks clueless.
Lawrence is there for ONE reason & everybody knows it.💯
Way too complicated for Fox viewers or even the hosts.
The hate that conservatives have for EVs is stupidly irrational. More options are always better for consumers. Besides, if more people are driving EVs, wouldn't that reduce the demand for gasoline and cause the price at the pump to come down? Do they not believe in the laws of supply and demand?
May 2 23, the price per barrel peaked at 123 dollars. It's now currently 82 dollars. That is a decrease of 33%. Why hasn't the price of gasoline dropped by 1/3 since then?
Why?
Because of corporate greed. Until the American consumer changes how much they consume, Corporations will continue to keep prices as high as possible.
I've never wanted to buy a rental car either. That's why I rent them.
The USA has cheap fuel compared to the rest of the world.
Lawrence Jones is clueless 🤡
For those international viewers always be aware that when David's talking about gas he doesn't mean gas, he means either petrol or diesel; for some reason in this country we insist on degrading the English language, another lunacy is calling helicopters choppers.😱
He's right though, electric vehicles are selling very well in the US.
Nobody wanted to buy a car from a rental car company? Weird.
It’s rare
Newsflash to Voters: The government doesn't own our oil companies. It can't force oil drilled here to stay here.
The oil companies determine prices, the amount sent to refineries, whether refineries run at full capacity or not, and if the oil drilled here stays here. And what are decisions based on? How much money they can make. This means they won't improve capacity at refineries and will sell the oil overseas if they can get a better price there. They also price-gouge like crazy.
There's no reason for our government to hold the country back for these jerks.
The best way for a country to become "energy independent" is to use means of energy generation that can't be shipped overseas as easily as crude oil.
The Hertz thing was so weird. They bought 20k vehicles at price A. Then Tesla dropped their prices, so the average vehicle they bought now costs B. All of a sudden their accounting makes them write down the value of the vehicles by (A-B) and books this as “depreciation”. They dump a bunch of vehicles because they look like a bad asset now, further spiraling the market price. Nothing about the assets changed! They are still just as drivable as they were before the price drop. Absolutely bananas.
All FOX hosts are confused ,I thought that was obvious to all.
Why no discussion about the Rare Earth Minerals and the sustainability of batteries? Why no discussion about the mishandling of the pandemic? Why no discussion about autonomy seemingly guaranteed by the Constitution in the pursuit of happiness? Why no treason charges against trump?
OK, stop the "rare" earth argument. It has no reference to availability of the element. It refers to the grouping in the periodic table. Lithium is a VERY common element. At 20 mg lithium per kg of Earth's crust, lithium is the 25th most abundant element. 25th! Nickel is the 6th most common. 1/2 of the car batteries in the world are now using LFP batteries. Lithium, Iron and phosphate. So the most common(iron), one in the top 25 (lithium) and the 11th (Phosphorus) is the major components of 1/2 the batteries in BEVs. Just stop. This is FUD and has no basis in reality.
Because trump made a mess of your country 100-000 dead and highest spending under trump after his tax cut
@@bryanwhitton1784 Thank you, yes. Big upvote! The amount of raw materials needed to be extracted for a clean energy transition is dwarfed by what we will have to continue to extract - every day - in the form petroleum products needed to keep the status quo fossil fuel economy moving forward. Once the fossil fuel products are refined and used, they're gone forever. You need to go back, extract more and refine more to keep the fossil fuel machines functioning. It never ends and it's killing us.
But when materials for clean tech energy products are extracted, those materials are capable of being recycled at the end of their useful life, which can be decades into the future. It's predicted - and I don't doubt it - that a circular economy will eventually develop around these new technologies. A day will come where enough of these perpetually recycled raw materials will be available that we won't have to continue to extract new lithium or whatever else is needed to supply what's needed for new EV batteries, solar panels and the like.
None of this stuff is going to happen tomorrow. Biden or any other president can't just snap their fingers and finish a decades' worth of work overnight. But Trump could really mess things up badly, if he's allowed near the White House again.
The US is a NET exporter. Nobody stores large quantities of oil, so we burn the oil equally as we produce it. Overproduction cuts profits, underproduction raises prices. Refineries are already a bottleneck. Sour refers to Sulfur content, a poison H2S, harder to deal with. Sweet is lack of Sulfur, more desirable.
Dude the average person doesn’t understand it.
That's how outlines work: (A) and (2). 🤪

David, thanks so much for explaining why we import and export oil! But let me get this straight, the oil companies risk sending oil tankers out on the ocean just because we don't have the right equipment here?? And then of course the risk and cost of oil tankers bringing us the right kind of oil. Very wasteful

Ironically, the author of the James Bond series accurately predicted that the biggest threat to life on earth is super rich people whose money didn't make them happy and now their hobby is destroying the world.
Thanks for the explanation about the two types of crude. I had always assumed we still exported our own crude, while importing from elsewhere, due to commercial reasons such as long term contract obligations with other parties.
'A. And number 2".
Fox hosts have a hard time keeping track of what they are suppose to lie about today. EG they said 30,000 showed up to a Trump rally when drone photos showed maybe 1500, LOL 😆.
I've been driving for 40 years and every single day gas has been expensive.. not one day has gone by where I said oh this is great I love the gas prices. wake TF UP
The obvious next question would be...why don't we set up more refineries that can refine the same type of oil we pump?
Why bother if they can do it cheaper overseas? Oil companies are multinational corporations, oil refineries are very expensive to build and even more expensive to satisfy environmental constraints. I don't see any reason why an oil company would want to build a different type of refinery in the USA and even if they did it would be unlikely to alter the price of fuel 'at the pump'.
If it weren't for that network, we would never be in this mess!😢
Trump would say:"Simply remove the sugar"
