That's what's so exciting about his result. That district is already gerrymandered to the max. If a Republican can only win a gerrymandered 30+R district by 10 points, what's going to happen to all those districts where the Republican typically wins by 10 or 15 points.

Neither is this the only district this his happened in over the last year. The same sort of shift toward Democrats have been happening all over the country, in both red states and blue.
Just a few weeks ago, a Democrat won an election in Georgia with a similar shift on the vote. Last winter, a Republican in Oklahoma barely squeaked by in his election by +5 points in a district that normally goes +25 for Republicans. In a typically competitive district in New York, the Democrat won by double digits.
It's happening everywhere.
If we all get out and vote, we can send MAGA back to the cesspit they sprang from.

Kind of already is. The only Democrat stronghold in that entire area is Youngstown, which they split off from the Cleveland district & that whole southeastern region may as well just be more of West Virginia, at this point. It's also the least populated region of the state.

As an Ohioan it's been really unfortunate to see us shift from THE swing state (we selected the winning candidate in almost every presidential race) to a "red state". I also don't think it's as bad as it seems. Part of it is we are ridiculously gerrymandered in favor of Republicans and it's hard to change that when Republicans are in charge. But I have also been pleasantly surprised on recent issues regarding things like marijuana and reproductive rights, where we have voted in favor of the left leaning policies in all cases. I am holding out hope that after going for Trump twice we might correct that wrong in '24. Fingers crossed!
