I love Discovery. I was ready to hate it, because how many times can you go back to the same well.
However, I LOVE that they've done something completely different with the premise. They're exploring new science fiction in new ways. They're not retreading the same ground. They're boldly going where no writers have gone before.
These actors have the best chemistry ever !! Was not expecting to like Star Trek Discovery but Im not only inlove with this show I am also obsessed and a true diehard fan....
Great cast, they’re so wonderful and energetic, can’t wait to see season 2!!
For me ... STD is the Best Star Trek so far. Wonderful characters, Amazing Visuals ... Each episode is like a Big Screen Movie Experience. Hope we get a Season 4.
Do they ask Voyager, Enterprise or DS9 these canon questions? No!

A terrible movie but it put him on the map.
@@hilariousness6644 --- Have you heard of the TV series called "Hell On Wheels". It was a huge success here in the USA. Anson Mount was the lead in that series. It was on for 5 years, thats how good it was. . . . Anson Mount was very popular.
It won't ever link to canon, unless they establish that STD is in a parallel universe to the real prime timeline. They lied to us before - remember "stick with us - we'll explain everything in season 1". They already proved that they don't care about canon - changing the Klingons beyond all recognition and altering the types of technology available to Starfleet were huge mistakes.

I admit to caring about it - all shows make mistakes and missteps, if the show is good enough and entertaining enough, they can be glossed over (as long as they don't ruin suspension of disbelief). But when they change everything for the sake of it then claim that this is the same universe as before - it doesn't work.
@@CaptainPikeachu canon did care, they were bound to a low budget and to rules TV stations gave them and society being very skeptical to Sci-Fi back then. So their hands were tied sometimes. Also everyone is allowed to make mistakes. But CBS only tries to please a big audience for the big money and make this franchise as mainstream-shallow as possible. The target audience for STD must be young people whit little interest in quality dialogs or good scripts. Also the vast amount of political identities in this series is mind-blowing!
To be fair, it is not the actors fault that this is a total shit show. They have to play this stupid story and they have to say dumb lines.
It is the writing that makes this the worst Star Trek show I could have imagined.
Really sad for every star trek fan that so much money got spend for such shit story.
I feel sorry for these actors. It's a shame they get some of the blame.

02/01/20 - Have just watched 2 seasons of STD and I like it!
I was there at the very beginning in the sixties with ST1 and was addicted from the start, I have lost count of the times I`ve watched and re-watched every one of the Star Trek series to date and still do (watching Enterprise in the bedroom at the moment for the umpteenth time and was watching STD in the living room at the same time). So having said all this, my love of the Star Trek universe goes without saying, I love it! But all the repeated viewings have made it ever so slightly stale IMHO.
So this 21st century Star Trek STD has IMO brought the ST universe back up to speed and given it a new lease on life which can only be a good thing. And I like the story, the actors, the new look Klingons and the CGI effects - may this new Star Trek live long and prosper!

Good crew. Loved Pike! Bad Writers and Producers, terrible plots and dialogues. There is a reason why it is the most hated show in tv atm.

STD is just awful. It makes Voyager look like a brilliantly written, character-driven show.

@@TheGeorgieboy1978 Explain "fan"! If its just someone who binge-watched every episode from TOS up, hmmm ok. But most people who refer themselves as "real fans" are disappointed Gene-fans who sympathize with the old-schol values and not with Zack Snyder/Michael Bay-like bullshit!
