I’m an HVAC guy, not sure what micron level you need, but I have found when the oil becomes saturated with moisture, you have a problem pulling down in a deeper vacuum. Just thought I’d pass that along.
Hey thanks for reaching out. Yes this is oil mist that comes out of the pump when it goes from atmosphere vacuum. We are coming out with a filter that will take care of this completely but it is about 3 months out still. We have a temporary solution that works well but is not elegant. Just wrap a microfiber towel around the base of the oil mist filter. Use a rubber band to secure it and this would stop the misting. Again this solution is effective but just temporary until we get the new filters in. Thanks and let us know how it goes.
Good Idea! I have two small fans (probably not necessary), one that blows down the sides of the vacuum pump from the back, and one that directs air over the heat exchanger to increase air flow.@@BlueAlpine

Running my first load. Is it normal to have steam coming out of the pump around the filter? The pump is also quite warm. Is that ok?

Isn't the pump on the wrong side of the machine? Hooked to the drain hose?
We changed the side of the machine it goes on. This helps regulate temperatures in the heat exchanger. But good catch!
