Make a huge dinner table with the black walnut that’ll look nice and Brock you do everything on your channel
I totally love that vertical plywood saw setup you have with the NASA counter weight to raise the saw back up to the top. That is truly a set up that tells everything someone would need to know about the owner……. That he is a genius in engineering and knows how to cost effectively design and build a set up that works better that a factory model that cost thousands of dollars!! I’m always impressed by how you are able to do what you do without spending money like a drunk sailor on tools & equipment. !! 👍👍👍. That walnut is awesome !
Thanks. My dad is all about getting things done with what you have and I take some of that from him
Beautiful wood Brock.
Looks stellar❤
gorgeous walnut
When you stack and sticker, you should have more than two bottom supports. I prefer my supports to be spaced about 16" apart. Then make sure your stickers are directly above the bottom supports. Also, it's important to support the lumber about two inches from the end. Having a sticker that close to the end also helps to keep the lumber from splitting. I think it slows the drying process on the ends, so it matches that in the center. This method allows better weight distribution and helps to prevent cupping and bowing. It's the little details that can help make your lumber less labor intense and provide more useable stuff. Great video! I'm excited to see what you will make with your lumber!
Brock you should have your dad on the "Just Some Good Old Boys" podcast. I think he would get some really good questions from the Rockhill Farmers
That’s a good idea. I’ve been thinking about it
Can't wait to see what the planks become!
Yes sir
That is some beautiful walnut! I think you should build a cabinet or hutch out of it. Some live edge tables would be nice as well. Heck, you could also make some cabinet doors to replace others in your house that need upgrading. I would love to see how anything you make from it turns out.
you can rip down the cupped slab and then plane and glue up.
👍👍
You might have to park the equipment for a few days and do a little relaxing woodworking!
Is it not best to have your stickers the same species as your lumber that you wish to dry?
I do think that is ideal. I need to take the time to cut some
Can I get some black walnut
Sure. Where do you live
