go to the ZX10R, I have the euro unrestricted ninja witch on the dyno is 189hp at rear wheel, just a shame the US model is so restricted, though you can flash it, and you can also just keep it in low power mode so it feels just like a 600
MrPninja I couldn't imagine how much more insane this bike would feel de-restricted. If I can find a good deal on the 10th edition it will be the bike I will walk out the dealership with. I wish they made one in pearl white... I really dont like the standard green or black colors.
I would guesstimate that I will be walking out with a ZX10R instead. The front end feel was amazing compared to the other bikes, the dash area had a better finish and the power was visceral. All that for just 1500-2000 more gives me no reason to go for the 600.
+David McPeek The difference is where you feel your arms being pulled off, the GSXS1000 has all the power immediately, whereas this one has a surge that builds up, but it's not like it's sluggish down low, its just that as you hit 5000 RPM and up you have to hang on. Im sure the ZX10 will pull away from the Suzuki, but it really was the suspension feel that made this bike shine, you could really feel the grip and pavement texture through the handle bars it made it really easy to trust.
I know this is an old video, but daamn.. Hahaha this guy hasnt got a clue what he´s actually riding :) No dis, we´ve all been newbs, but I wish he have had a chance to crank the throttle open in 2nd and 3rd gear = "Screeam / Wet brown spot between buttchecks / I gotta try this again.." :D Sorry for you Pickleahoy, but you didnt come even close to 1/4th of what this bike does when it hits the powerband :)
Tell me about it!, unfortunately most of the rides get held back for one reason or another. For the past year Kawasaki has been skipping the demo ride event too! Hopefully they are back for Biketoberfest this year, I really want to try their new 1000cc.
Yeah, it really sucks having a "nanny" riding in front, on a bike like this :D I hope you get a chance to ride a zx10r again, just be careful, it explodes like a rocket and is more addictive than drugs ;) The new ninja 1000 looks pretty nice to :) And a bit more civilized with 145hp :) Still enough to get you in trouble faster than you can say "Sorry Officer, I sneezed and my right hand slipped a bit" ;)
great review to, I love mine
I wish kawi will come up with an LCD display in their future bikes......it's due.

now that would be cool
I wish my local dealership would let us test drive bikes so I can figure out if I should step up to a litre bike or a 600.
Probably one of the best reviews on this bike honestly...so will you skip the 600? Because im kinda in that same situation

I live in Florida too. I know what it's like to have boring roads.
How would you compare the power to the gsxs1000 you tested?
