One of my most anticipated test rides. This is the kind of effort Suzuki should have put into the S750, it is the best naked sportbike I've ever ridden for the price. Biketoberfest test rides at Daytona Speedway 2015.

First ride on an R6. Not a lot of comments since it was one of my first rides at Bike week in Daytona Beach. The low price on these compared to Kawasaki and Suzuki at the moment makes it hard to not consider it! The high RPM limit is impressive and the bike is by far the loudest of all 3 Japanese middleweights.

    Just bought this , traded my XSR900. I had a GS & a Diavel. My first in-line 4. Initially I thought it was heavy & not so nimble. Now I realised how beautiful it rides, Suzuki’s are like Sony’s mobile phones. Underrated but brilliant. Sounds great too. I’ll just change the levers & foot pegs. Mine has a 58l top box 😂. Super utilitarian.

    @ 13:30 IMHO i disagree The F version looks better and handles a tad bit better due to the faired nose to keep that front wheel down. I test rode both and the F version looks better to me due to it's sport bike-ish appearance. But BOTH versions are excellent bikes and look sharp. I picked up the F version a month ago and couldn't be happier. The best bike i've ever ridden in my life and i've had a few. Everywhere i take it, it gets a ton of compliments on the F version. But to each his/her own. The main thing is to enjoy the ride of your choice and be safe out there. Cheers.

    I LOOOVE THIS BIKE. I have test ridden it so many times, you can't imagine. I'm 6'3 and this bike fits me like a glove. Everything about this bike is awesome. The ride is comfortable, it looks amazing, the growl says I'm here and the POWER just slaps you and says, skin that smoke wagon (like Wyatt Earp played by Kurt Russel in TOMBSTONE) - it screams Woooooo like the Nature Boy Rick Flair and will tear off your shirt like the Hulkster. Phew... I digress, my apologies folks. Fan boi you say... I think not. I'm the President of the Suzuki S1000 F - fan club.

    How can I apply to ride one?

    • @MrPickleahoy
      @MrPickleahoy 7 років тому

      You don't apply. All it takes is for you to have a license with a motorcycle endorsement and sign up for a time slot at the demo tent. Typically they discourage you to ride the supersports if you give them an air of lack of confidence, they will ask you how long you've been riding for and force you to ride the beginner bikes first.

    More fun than Suzuki gsx-s1000f?

    • @MrPickleahoy
      @MrPickleahoy 7 років тому

      Absolutely, the feeling of acceleration on this thing is incredible and can't be translated through video. Cornering feel I can't really judge well since Suzuki demo rides are higher speed, so I actually had more fun on the Suzuki in that aspect. The sound from the FZ is a thing of its own, and the burbles and pops even with a stock pipe were awesome. Problem though is price vs fun, a new GSX-S1000 is selling for 8 grand discounted, whereas the FZ being new retails for 12k. I would probably buy the Suzuki.

    • @dry509
      @dry509 7 років тому

    • @eddielockhurst4247

      i would have to disagree but then again it all comes down to the opinion of the rider as i own the fz 10 after riding all of them normally i was a die hard super sport fan and always them to me the fz is that but in a naked style and i dont get that feeling from the gsxs or any other naked other than maybe the tuono but that's just me and for the price youre right but to me the extra 4k is worth it in every way. great video man.

    The pre 2017 GSX-S750 in the US isn't really a GSX-S750. It's the GSR 750, which is just rebranded for some stupid reason in the US as such. The new upcoming GSX-S750 is much more like the GSX-S1000 but with a smaller engine and less adjustable suspension but with probably a bit more usable gearing. And it should be quite a bit better than the GSR 750.

    There not to bad are they. The front end is very light. I.ve just gone over 4500klms and loving it. I've just put the Woolich race tune in it and it's even better. Cheers.

    • @MrPickleahoy
      @MrPickleahoy 8 років тому

      Absolutely. The light front end feeling for me was only under acceleration from the crazy torque feeling that you can never convey over video. This bike is definitely at the top of my list of future upgrade rides to consider. Did you tune it for a full exhaust or just for power? The sound this cross-plane engine makes is wonderful

    • @WozzasSportsCruiserRides
      @WozzasSportsCruiserRides 8 років тому

      I didn't do the link pipe, just the akro, the race tune fixes the take off response, also the lagbetween 6000 rpm and 8000 rpm and opens the top end. I have a two part video on my cannel if your interesred. I can say this is the best bike I've owed and the rsce tune has made Standard smoother and Bmode insane.

    • @MrPickleahoy
      @MrPickleahoy 8 років тому

      This was behind the Daytona Speedway during Bike Week. They have the same setup for Biketobefest. You will find the demo stands either at the front of the speedway by the tunnel entrance, or the back right in front of the airport runway. The only convention demo ride day you will find is in Orlando during Aim-Expo which is actually happening soon (Oct 13-16). That convention/demo ride event is amazing since not only do you have regular rides, but you can test ride off-road vehicles on artificial dirt tracks as well.

  • @triv7252
    @triv7252 8 років тому

    Nice review! I was at Daytona for Bike Week (on vacation from the UK) but they wouldn't let me ride with a foreign licence (understandable) You mention the bike is smooth and that's great to hear, do you think they've altered the fuelling on the later model bikes? It did have a reputation for a snatchy throttle.

    • @MrPickleahoy
      @MrPickleahoy 8 років тому

      Thanks and I hope you had some fun still at Daytona. I did notice the snatchy throttle on the GSX test ride I did last year... It was really hard to be smooth with the engine at low RPMs and the smallest twist of the throttle would give way too much acceleration. I thought it was a fueling issue at the time. For this test ride they must have adjusted the throttle slack properly since it made a world of difference and I was able to ride without having to concentrate on turning the throttle a millimeter at a time. This bike had absolutely no controls issues.

    • @triv7252
      @triv7252 8 років тому

      Hi, well I got a test ride on one today and had no trouble with the throttle or any snatchy behaviour. The dealer said that Suzuki has issued a revised ECU that has been fitted to all models built after Feb 2016 and will retro fit (free of charge) to any affected models bought before that - so that's good to them to rectify that. I really enjoyed the bike and found it nicer to ride than the Yamaha MT-10 (FZ-10 in the USA) that I tested a couple of weeks ago. My only issue with the Suzuki was that I found it cramped, I'm 6'3" and my current bike is a Triumph Tiger Explorer - a totally different machine but previously I was riding a Triumph Speed Triple 1050, which is of course very similar to the GSX-S1000 and the MT-10 and it's that sort of bike I'd like to get back to rather than the adventure/tourer that I have now. The next bike I need to try is the Kawasaki Z1000SX (Ninja 1000 stateside), to see if that fits me better. We really enjoyed our stay in Orlando and of course Daytona Bike Week was great too - my wife and I will be back next year for bike week and will base ourselves in Orlando again. Maybe see you there!

    How does it do against a vfr1200?

    • @MrPickleahoy
      @MrPickleahoy 8 років тому

      That's a hard question to answer given that Honda offers no test rides so I can only imagine that it would be a lot more comfortable but you would give up the flickability this bike has, it really feels super light compared to other nakeds. A vfr12000 would also not be as rev happy as this thing is. If you do lots of touring it would be a better choice I assume.
