Nah, Elena floating wasn't that odd. What I find weird is that I'm pretty sure in the first book of the return, Damon just gets bored of walking and he's like, "Fuck it, ima float" and just floats
When you do, be sure to start watching The Originals in tandems. I think it starts during the 12th episode of season 4. After that, i'll watch 1 episode TVD and 1 episode of The Originals, then when they're both over I watch Legacies. In fact, now that Legacies is officially over after season 4, it may be time for me to start again too!
Just my speculation: I do wonder if the idea of vampires being impotent was taken from Anne Rice's novels, which would've been the only major modern source material for LJ Smith to pull from at the time. In the Vampire Chronicles, vamps dont have sex & are impotent bc it's not a bodily need or sensation for them- the closest bond to a sexual encounter actually comes from the blood sharing when they feed from someone, where the experience is akin to orgasmic for both sides.
I remember being soooo salty that Damon and Bonnie didn't end up together (they were just perfect, POV with two of them were deff my favourite thing in those books) and I stopped after Stefan died. Thanks for taking a shot for us and reviewing this series, I was too young to remember all the details and toxicity of everything
First and only time I ever rage-quit a book was the very first of the Vampire Diaries series. The fact that the creators managed to make a TV show out of that mess is mind-boggling and impressive af. Mind you they had to change practically everything but still. Lol
This is how I was with the first Twilight. I tried to listen to the audiobook in my teen years. I live in the Pacific Northwest and was instantly PO'd by Bella's endless belly aching about the weather. It's fucking gorgeous here.
As a fellow person who lives in the Pacific NW (on the Olympic Peninsula) I have to say: No, she’s right! It’s terrible here! Finally, I’ve been waiting for someone to cover this! I remember the first four books being bad but in a trashy almost fun way and then it just went off the rails. The Kitsune? The parallel world? Everyone dying and coming back? Elena being the descendant of these weird angel things I don’t know the English name of?? Like WHATS GOING ON??? I, too, hated Elena with my whole heart. I will never forget how Elena was described constantly 💀 Her golden hair cascading over her shoulders, her lapislazuli eyes, her dark lashes like crescent moons over her rosy cheeks … my god I’m actually feeling aggression as I’m typing this. Was so disappointed when she came back to life lmao.
Full Body descriptions in the 90s were what authors did. Sweet Valley High did it. Roswell High did it. VC Andrews Overdid it. It was how books were sold. If you wanted to sell more than 10 copies of your work had to add description tags up the wazoo
@@LadyTuku-ju3fy I definitely realized this when reading Carrie by Stephen King for the first time. Character descriptions are very in depth back then even though it was the 70’s I think😭

I couldn’t believe I was an hour in, I was so into it. TVD is one of those show I love to rewatch every so often and I’m glad I know now never to ruin it by reading the books 😂
stefan didn't take advantage of elena when she came back from the dead, he only thirsted a few times because she asked him for a kiss and whenever he refused she was sad and upset with him .He always refused and said that she was not in her normal state for them to kiss. Stefan didn't even sleep with Elena in bed, he was sitting on a chair, which made Elena more frustrated and who says that is herself
I’m so happy this video is here. I remember seeing all of your good reads ratings pop up on my feed and just giggling to myself knowing this video was going to be great and I was not wrong.
You have to read the first 4 books in the light of early 90s YA culture, where being the Queen of the school was considered the ultimate accomplishment for a teen girl, in order to see where book Elena's character growth came in. Early 90s teen Queen would never sacrifice herself to save the town... she'd send one of her adoring minions instead. And everyone else adoring the Queen and living for her was also standard operating procedure - and I think the company was requiring those stereotypes in their books, so Smith as the contracted writer had to work around it. Between the 90s and the next books; well Smith got sick and spent YEARS reading manga and watching anime. 'Nuff said - burn them!
I just remember reading the books before the show came out and being super disappointed that Caroline did not crawl all over the walls like in the Kitsune book arc 😂
Omg I’m glad you mentioned how toxic it is to die for romance in vampire books. When the Sookie Stackhouse book series ended…um…SPOILERS…I was so glad she didn’t let Eric end her. She was so against being a vampire, had seen how awful it was, it would have been utter horseshit if she had turned for him.
I've never had any interest reading these, but watched thanks to the "Team Burn the Boxset". You didn't disappoint. The loathing. The snark. I was cracking up A LOT. Very entertaining - so the books weren't a total loss 😆
Even as someone who knows nothing about The Vampire Diaries, books or show, this was such an entertaining video. I had a cozy time on the couch cuddling with my own tuxedo cat and watching it. Thank you for putting yourself through that for us!
I'm so glad you did this!! I love when people react to the vampire diaries books but they only do the first one, so thank you for reading them all because I really don't want to but I can now live it all through you 💕
I read the first 7 books in this series many many years ago and I forgot how bad they were 😂 I wiped them from my mind, I literary only remember one plot point because it was so ridiculous 😂 Sorry that you had to suffer through them, but the video was fantastic!
oh my god thank you for this video, I had blocked all the memories I had of reading this whole series, I believe I read the first 6 books and I had NO RECOLLECTION until now. Baby Elena will forever haunt me!!!! Also, this video was great to have in the background while I was packing my entire house to move tomorrow!
Haha thank you!! This should have gone up hours ago but UA-cam took way too long to upload, then almost scared me with possible restrictions so had to wait even longer for the checks, but we got there in the end
I can't believe I finally found another person who actually read the whole series too 😂 it honestly seemed like noone else ever read these exept for me😅
So way back in the early 90s, we didn't really have true YA books like exists nowadays. There was hardly ever any cursing or sex, even though books were about teens. So yeah the old books do feel like they were written to a younger audience as a result. Now I want to re-read LJ Smith, Christopher Pike, RL Stine, and Richie Tankersley Cusick books!
I've read 7 or 8 of the books when I was a literal child (like 13-15) and I loved them. A few years ago I found one and tried to read it again and man did I have bad taste in books🤣
Sounds like my feelings for the Twilight Saga! I didn't even read 3 pages before I threw the first book across the room! All my Twilight Saga books ended up as a donation to the local library!
The sense of self-hatred that vampires in every single book series seem to have makes me like the evil vampires that much more. At least they're honest about the fact that they're terrible. 😂
You recapping the return series had me cackling! Stefan’s “she does that sometimes”. Elena being tied to a car like a balloon! Caroline scuttling across the ceiling! Prairie Dog kissing (are all angels in the TVD like this?) Stefan googling spells to become a human?? Then getting trapped in a hell dimension (can’t trust everything you find on the internet…)! Elena’s Pride wings?! Omfgggggg
I never read or watched the Vampire Diaries, but I remember loving the Nightworld omnibuses by the same author when I was about 13/14, so this is quite an enlightening video.
Have you read the Forbidden Game trilogy? It was my absolute favorite preteen series and I remember the characters, creative story, and romance arc being so well done, I'm really shocked by how bad the TVD books sound 😬
I feel like we all owe you a coffee each for putting you through this...but I'm not going to lie, I had an absolutely delightful time watching you tear the books to shreds. lol
I read the original 4 books and then watched the 1st season when it premiered back in 2009 and I was LIVID when I saw the cast lol I binge-watched the whole thing during lockdown tho and I really enjoyed it ngl
I have watched Jenny Nicholson’s video about the tv show about a million times, so excited to see what the books are like having not consumed either version of this series
So I was *obsessed* with the Vampire Diaries TV show when it was on. I was the right demographic, a high schooler in love with vampire romance. (I'll admit that even as a full-grown adult it's a bit of a guilty pleasure series for me.) I read the books once I found out about them, I was a bit of a bookworm so I was ecstatic to have some books to get my Vampire Diaries fix. I didn't mind that it was nothing like the show, it just meant everything was new and surprising. I thought they were decent until I got to The Return: Nightfall. I don't remember if I even finished it, and I gave up on the book series after that. It read like bad fanfiction written by someone obsessed with both Vampire Diaries and anime. The kitsune stuff just came out of fricking nowhere and left such a bad taste in my mouth. I read some of LJ Smith's other series as well - The Secret Circle, Night World, and Dark Visions. I remember enjoying them, though I was disappointed Night World never had a proper ending. (Fun fact, The Secret Circle had a failed TV show and the book series met the same fate. Smith had her rights to it snatched away and a ghostwriter took over.)
gavin truly makes the most iconic videos. i LOVE when u do series vlogs like these. i can't believe i'm saying this but i like this video even more than jenny's TVD breakdown. this was hysterical and u made a lot of good points about the problematic parts of the books while also keeping this video light-hearted and fun as usual. you're doing the lord's work, gavin.
So I mentioned this in the sprints but I thought I would explain a bit more here, my understanding of the whole situation with the author is that a company (idk its name) wanted a teen vampire series, and so they hired L. J. Smith (I’m not sure if this really happens anymore but I think it was pretty common in the 90s and early 2000s as I think this is also how books like PLL and gossip girl came out, these companies would want a particular type of book, usually because it was a popular genre/theme at the time, and then would hire unknown authors to write it) they had certain bullet points of what they wanted to be a part of the series and Smith wrote it, but she never had the writes to the story, then it came to a point where she wanted to take the series in one direction and the company another and so she either left or was fired (idk which) and another author was hired to continue the series how the company wanted it to end. L. J. Smith then released how she wanted to end the series (I’m pretty sure it was on watpad or something), I can’t remember whether she posted as a “fanfiction” or whether she changed characters and some details to avoid legal issues Sorry that this is all quite vague, I watched a video about it years ago and can’t remember what it was
If I remember correctly. L.J Smith wanted to keep just the vampire lore and Stelena as endgame but the company wanted it to expand into more supernatural stuff (hence the parallel universe/dark realm) and Delena as endgame. That’s why I think Stelena were endgame in L.J Smith version while Delena were endgame in ghost writer version.
I read this series in middle school and let me tell you, I tried so hard to eat this up. It was exactly the genre I was reading and living and breathing. But. I literally couldn't. I remember the exact moment I returned a book to the library unfinished for the first time. Elena is an angel now??? What??? I couldn't get passed that. (this was in like 2009ish)
i… i thought these books were so good when i was 10. i still look back on them fondly and think “maybe i should find them online and reread them” thank you for making sure i didn’t. god i just remembered i had like a box of notes id made abt the series including all of elena’s wing states (i think 2 of them were wings of protection and wings of destruction??) and damon’s nicknames for people. if that was the most riveting content i could get out of the books as A TEN YEAR OLD?! that probably should have told me something
What’s funny is when I heard how she came back as an angel my response was “did the author misunderstand the requirements and personality traits for an angel with a succubas?” 🤣
I clicked on this video because I know pretty much nothing about the book series but really loved the TV show, kind of expecting I would've gotten distracted and that maybe my ADHD was the only reason that I clicked on this video because even though I love reading I don't often watch videos about books. But this video honestly made my entire day. I'm stuck in bed with a knee injury right now and your energy just lifted me up so much. I've been stuck by myself for the last few days and I've been having a very stressful start to the year with a lot of drama, so my mental health has pretty much been in the toilet. But watching this video I just felt like I was sitting with a friend And hanging out while talking about books. Your energy feels so incredibly comfortable and familiar, you made me laugh when I've been in a lot of physical and emotional pain for the last few days. I love the way that you explained stuff and your vibe just felt really nice to me. I immediately subscribed and I am so excited to go through your old videos and watch those because I know I'm gonna be stuck in this bed for the next few days anyway. And I just wanted to say thank you for being you and making this video because it really did make my day and I hope that you keep making beautiful content ❤
I am a recent viewer and I've been bingeing all your old videos and I absolutely love your channel!!! You put so much effort into your videos and your presence is so comforting. Also I think it would be fun to watch you read the hunger games trilogy!
I recall reading the first book in high school and thought "omg this is really good", to the point I'm now hunting the box set just to read it all. I'm so glad I came across this instead of dropping ≈$140
Only like half way through the video (in the Return Series section) and the way you just keep dropping the most insane story details in like a throwaway sentence is killing me. 😂
I read these a few years ago when I found the first two series in a charity shop and it feels so validating that I wasn't just dumb and the plots and characters are wild and don't make sense 🤣
I am so excited for this!!!! I vaguely remember picking up the books as a teen but then I revisited the show during quarantine. Thank you so much Gavin for all the hard work and I hope you can get better soon 🖤🖤🖤
The fact that I read some of the books from the series when I was freshly 11 😭 idk who allowed those books to be in the school library but I was eating up those books but I remember nothing LOL I’ve been team Damon from the very beginning, I remember having a huge crush on Ian bc of it. Anyways, I would’ve finished the series if it wasn’t for them literally never appearing in the library again 💀 but then again a lot of the books I read during that time were ridiculous lolll esp the house of night series wtff

This just brought back strong memories of me checking out all the vampire diaries books at the school library. I don’t even remember what was in them, but I do know I was the first person to read any of them in the school 😭
I was obsessed with vampires as a teenager, so in my quest for more vampire media to consume, I rented the first Vampire Diaries book at my local library. I found Elena so insufferable as a character that I could barely get through the book. I hated it so much that I never read any other book in the series, and refused to watch the TV series when it came out too. I was so completely confused about how it got popular lol.
TV series has nothing tod do with books, except for character names. Maybe you should watch instead of "beng confused how it became popular". You would understand, if you watched it 🤦🏻♂
Omg this gives me warflashback to middle school, where I tried to read these bc I loved the show so much. I didnt make it past the 3rd book, reading them felt like feverdream 😭
I just wanna point out, in the first book, they have like...a brief conversation, intense awkward staring at each other in class, then followed up with Stefen avoiding her like the plague AND THEN she confesses her love for him, as far as I remember when I read the books (I only got through three before I stopped. I needed to keep any more of my brain cells from committing suicide) I can safely say the tv series is better than the books. Also...ANGEL SISTERS. WTF.
I used to be obsessed with the TV show and when I heard that there were books that it's based on, I got really excited. My friend was kind enough to find the first 3 books for me, but I dnfed it right after the first chapter or two. The worst book I've ever "read". I'm amazed that you managed to stick with it. I really loved your video and now I feel like rewatching the series 😜
I remember reading the first two books and completely deleting any detail about Elena from my mind because I could not stand any more of her, I'm glad I wasn't the only one 😂
You should read the The 39 Clues series for a video one time, loved that series as a kid and read it as books kept coming out all the way through high school. Very underrated series in my opinion
Please do a Trublood reading vlog. I loved that show, and the books were good (haven't read them in years - probably should do a reread). I never watched the last season or read the last book, do maybe it all fell apart? (I have issues finishing things that I like🙈)
I used to watch the series. Had books from this author but I think I had Secret Cicrle and not VD. Loved Secret Circles when it aired. And was upset it was canceled. But then again JR Bourne and Shelley Henning were Reunited in Teen Wolf.
I was today years old when I learned that the Vampire Diaries is not only a tv show, but has a book series-And I’m pretty sure that after watching this video I’ll be certain in my assertion that I was much better not knowing that.
Absolutely loved this! Stopped me from having to do a re-read😂 (p.s. 100% would watch a 4/5 hr upload you’re hilarious, reviews on point and your vlogs are amazing)
I will say, out of all of the LJ Smith books I've read, I'd say my favorites aren't the ones that she was 'forced' to write (she did write what was expected but with very strict guidelines from what I know) but I liked the Forbidden Game and Dark Visions
Yay, I was looking to see if anyone else would mention the Forbidden Game series! I wonder how much influence the publisher had in the TVD novels, cause I'm shocked at the quality difference I remember from that series and what I'm hearing here
Honestly, the Forbidden Game is one of my favourites to this day! L.J Smith can write really well, I think her skill just lays more on the fantasy/supernatural side than the romance side. With this series, I can almost feel her getting tired of the story as it goes, and just throwing whatever she can at it to make the company happy.
My interest on the tv show died along with Katherine. Tried to read the books, and when they described Katherine as a "little white cat" to Elena's "white tigress" i noped out of it so hard
tried to watch the show and couldn't finish the 1st episode 😅 and i never knew there were books. grateful that you made this gavin! you entertained me for an hour and a half, and saved me massive pain and suffering because now i'll definitely never read them 🤣

Nah, Elena floating wasn't that odd. What I find weird is that I'm pretty sure in the first book of the return, Damon just gets bored of walking and he's like, "Fuck it, ima float" and just floats
ICONIC
eu amo HAHAHAHAHA
I heard that in Ian's voice 😂
Yknow In a weird way I feel like that probably would have happened in the show considering Damon’s character 🤣
"I mean, not that I would kick either of them out of bed" Icon. I need to watch the vampire diaries.
Do it. Do it for me!!
Yes, watch it. It’s really good it’s better than the book series
@@LaineyBug2020 Ooo, thanks!!
Don't. It's garbage.
Their chemestry is ssweet in the show, but it's sweet with him and Elena too.
I like Bonnie and Damon better especially in the books
Like in the show Damon and Elena but books Damon and Bonnie
First and only time I ever rage-quit a book was the very first of the Vampire Diaries series. The fact that the creators managed to make a TV show out of that mess is mind-boggling and impressive af. Mind you they had to change practically everything but still. Lol
This is how I was with the first Twilight. I tried to listen to the audiobook in my teen years. I live in the Pacific Northwest and was instantly PO'd by Bella's endless belly aching about the weather. It's fucking gorgeous here.
As a fellow person who lives in the Pacific NW (on the Olympic Peninsula) I have to say:
No, she’s right! It’s terrible here! Like a nightmare hellscape of misty green suitable only for mermaids and frogs. Stay away! Protect yourself from mold and fungus! Be safe! Don’t come here, it’s terrible!

The show is so good.
Lord lapis lazuli eyes is burned into my soul
Full Body descriptions in the 90s were what authors did. Sweet Valley High did it. Roswell High did it. VC Andrews Overdid it. It was how books were sold. If you wanted to sell more than 10 copies of your work had to add description tags up the wazoo
@@LadyTuku-ju3fy I definitely realized this when reading Carrie by Stephen King for the first time. Character descriptions are very in depth back then even though it was the 70’s I think😭
I always got the feeling(from the tv show) that Elena & Caroline were “frenemies” like friendly to each other at times but also catty and almost in competition
Omg Gavin your commitment is outstanding. I can’t believe you put yourself through this. I watched every single second and you kept me company on a night where I can’t go to sleep cause my blood sugar is unwell and I don’t want to fall asleep and risk it becoming dangerous again. So thank you for the delightful company and the always fantastic content
Love you Katie, glad I could keep you company!
@@GavinReadsItAll I'm glad you reply to your fans. Why does your channel keep saying new member when it's yours?
The Awakening and The Struggle have been sitting unread on my bookcase going on 14 years now with the thought that I’ll get to reading them eventually lol. Thank you for saving me from ever reading the Vampire Dairies series!
You are welcome haha
This whole series is giving big fanfic vibes… and not in a good way 😂
Exactly, there is some good fanfic out there, but this was not it 😂
I don't think that's the case, considering the books are the original source. If anything, the TV series in a fanfic retelling.
I wanna say something I have never read the vampire diaries books but I realley wanted to I watched the tv show and I’m still watching it but I think I like the book better especially the characters and so they love for example I like Bonnie and Damon together and are a couple I like that Bonnie is a redhead and by the way I don’t mean anything racist by saying that and I read a fandom about the characters and I liked it but I love the things in the books that the tv show changed however I also love the vampire diaries tv show
This Elena-Baby situation made me laugh so hard 😂 Had they filmed it as written in this series….i don’t even wanna know 🥸
I'm am literally crying. Your hate towards these books is so funny. Elena being this weird angel thing and your reaction to it was sooo hilarious.
“Probably the best person to walk on earth since Jesus” when I tell you IM DYING over you saying that omg😂 thank you for going over these books! I remember reading them when I was very young and LOVING them and now I’m mortified I did haha
I am cry laughing at you describing Elena flying around with everyone saying they believe in her.
Absolutely bless you Gavin, you have made my week before it's even really started ❤ I'm glad you are feeling better!!
Thank you as always for your sacrifice
I was handling all of this information so well until we got to “Caroline is pregnant and gives birth to a litter of wolf puppies” LMAO what the actual 💀
Really well done video. I couldn’t believe I was an hour in, I was so into it. TVD is one of those show I love to rewatch every so often and I’m glad I know now never to ruin it by reading the books 😂
And in books she gave birth to Taylor’s babies 😂
It makes sense bc Tyler is a werewolf, but it made me mad she accused Matt of rape.
Someone burned a copy of a Colleen Hoover Book, but Gavin is here to burn an entire book series 😂
Meredith was in the show, but later on and not in the "best friend" role, Meredith is the doctor in the show
stefan didn't take advantage of elena when she came back from the dead, he only thirsted a few times because she asked him for a kiss and whenever he refused she was sad and upset with him .He always refused and said that she was not in her normal state for them to kiss.
Haha I need to rate the rest on Goodreads, but glad you got to see early access to the ratings 😂
Aww yessss! I once read one and a half books then DNFed, but I watched the first 5 seasons multiple times I love those😍
Yay good taste!!
Book Elena is season 1 Caroline.
oh my god thank you for this video, I had blocked all the memories I had of reading this whole series, I believe I read the first 6 books and I had NO RECOLLECTION until now. Baby Elena will forever haunt me!!!! Also, this video was great to have in the background while I was packing my entire house to move tomorrow!
Not me hearing 'Meridith's brother was attacked by clowns', and thinking wow this finally got interesting
Omg I'd have given the book 5 stars if that happened haha
@@GavinReadsItAll Thats a series I want to read 😅
Thank god, I’ve been checking all day for this. Week saved ❤️🔥🧛🏼♂️
Haha thank you!! This should have gone up hours ago but UA-cam took way too long to upload, then almost scared me with possible restrictions so had to wait even longer for the checks, but we got there in the end
I can't believe I finally found another person who actually read the whole series too 😂 it honestly seemed like noone else ever read these exept for me😅
Are they really bad? How is delena in the books?
So way back in the early 90s, we didn't really have true YA books like exists nowadays. There was hardly ever any cursing or sex, even though books were about teens. So yeah the old books do feel like they were written to a younger audience as a result.
Now I want to re-read LJ Smith, Christopher Pike, RL Stine, and Richie Tankersley Cusick books!
I've read 7 or 8 of the books when I was a literal child (like 13-15) and I loved them. A few years ago I found one and tried to read it again and man did I have bad taste in books🤣
It’s crazy how thick some of those books are just for you to sum them up in a few sentences
Prairie Dog kissing (are all angels in the TVD like this?)
Stefan googling spells to become a human?? Then getting trapped in a hell dimension (can’t trust everything you find on the internet…)!
Elena’s Pride wings?!
Omfgggggg
I never read or watched the Vampire Diaries, but I remember loving the Nightworld omnibuses by the same author when I was about 13/14, so this is quite an enlightening video.
Night World is cheesy but so much better than the TVD series!
Have you read the Forbidden Game trilogy? It was my absolute favorite preteen series and I remember the characters, creative story, and romance arc being so well done, I'm really shocked by how bad the TVD books sound 😬
@@rachelr4126 I've read them and yeah that trilogy was super interesting.
I read the first 4 books after watching TVD and that’s the endgame for me. I don’t feel like reading further books after that.
I have watched Jenny Nicholson’s video about the tv show about a million times, so excited to see what the books are like having not consumed either version of this series
I always prefered her Secret Circle trilogy. It felt like she actually liked what she was writing.
So I was *obsessed* with the Vampire Diaries TV show when it was on. I was the right demographic, a high schooler in love with vampire romance. (I'll admit that even as a full-grown adult it's a bit of a guilty pleasure series for me.)
I read the books once I found out about them, I was a bit of a bookworm so I was ecstatic to have some books to get my Vampire Diaries fix.
I loved the first 2 seasons of the tv show so this was A++++ content to watch 🎉
gavin truly makes the most iconic videos. i LOVE when u do series vlogs like these. i can't believe i'm saying this but i like this video even more than jenny's TVD breakdown. this was hysterical and u made a lot of good points about the problematic parts of the books while also keeping this video light-hearted and fun as usual. you're doing the lord's work, gavin.
L. J. Smith then released how she wanted to end the series (I’m pretty sure it was on watpad or something), I can’t remember whether she posted as a “fanfiction” or whether she changed characters and some details to avoid legal issues
Sorry that this is all quite vague, I watched a video about it years ago and can’t remember what it was
If I remember correctly.

Its so good to see you again. I am so glad that you are feeling better now

Thanks so much, I appreciate you 🥰
I am so excited for this!!!! I vaguely remember picking up the books as a teen but then I revisited the show during quarantine. Thank you so much Gavin for all the hard work and I hope you can get better soon 🖤🖤🖤
Thanks Tiffany, glad we can bond over Vampire Diaries 🥰
The fact that I read some of the books from the series when I was freshly 11 😭 idk who allowed those books to be in the school library but I was eating up those books but I remember nothing LOL I’ve been team Damon from the very beginning, I remember having a huge crush on Ian bc of it. Anyways, I would’ve finished the series if it wasn’t for them literally never appearing in the library again 💀 but then again a lot of the books I read during that time were ridiculous lolll esp the house of night series wtff

😂😂😂😂
I was going to read the books after the tv show but now I will just stay with the show. One of those rare cases when the adaptation is better. 🤣
Not me literally raising my hand when Gavin said “you were about to say yourself weren’t you” 😂
'When you're comparing sh*t to sh*t' made me cackle 😆
You would understand, if you watched it 🤦🏻♂
Gav: who wants to watch 5+ hours of me talking about a book series?
Me: (raises hand quickly) YES PLEASE.
Omg this gives me warflashback to middle school, where I tried to read these bc I loved the show so much. I didnt make it past the 3rd book, reading them felt like feverdream 😭
I'm guessing team Damon. there's absolutely no bias in my guess, at all 😅👀
I just wanna point out, in the first book, they have like...a brief conversation, intense awkward staring at each other in class, then followed up with Stefen avoiding her like the plague AND THEN she confesses her love for him, as far as I remember when I read the books (I only got through three before I stopped. I needed to keep any more of my brain cells from committing suicide)
I can safely say the tv series is better than the books. Also...ANGEL SISTERS. WTF.
"I needed to keep any more of my brain cells from committing suicide" is awesome. Haha.
I would totally watch an animated adaptation of the books but live action would definitely not do lol
Now you need to add the Stefan Diaries
You should read the The 39 Clues series for a video one time, loved that series as a kid and read it as books kept coming out all the way through high school. Very underrated series in my opinion
Please do a Trublood reading vlog. I loved that show, and the books were good (haven't read them in years - probably should do a reread). I never watched the last season or read the last book, do maybe it all fell apart?
(I have issues finishing things that I like🙈)
I swear every new point you gave my eyes just kept getting wider and wider! That whole story is insane and I was getting major riverdale vibes 😂😂😂
I used to watch the series. Had books from this author but I think I had Secret Cicrle and not VD. Loved Secret Circles when it aired. And was upset it was canceled. But then again JR Bourne and Shelley Henning were Reunited in Teen Wolf.
I was so upset when Secret Circle got cancelled too 😭 it had so much potential!
I was today years old when I learned that the Vampire Diaries is not only a tv show, but has a book series-And I’m pretty sure that after watching this video I’ll be certain in my assertion that I was much better not knowing that.
"I know I was supposed to feel sad, but I just felt overjoyed" 😂🤣
I was obsessed with Julien in The Forbidden Game 😂
@@moonbunny9743 I swear, Julien is the bar for hot villains 😂
@@izzisart He really is. It's been years and I still sometimes think about him.
