- Since I am going to revamp my entire factory, I thought I would have a look at the blast furnace and what a rabbit hole it turned out to be. The process is fairly simple on the surface but there are a lot of small things to think about and little mistakes can cost you hours. The production needs to improve so it a necessary step to take. Just make sure that you have loads of power. Don't be like me.
Explore the limitless possibilities of FOUNDRY, where you can construct the ultimate factory or unleash your creative flair in a boundless voxel universe. Gather resources, streamline production with automation, and navigate intricate systems as you delve into the depths of mechanical innovation. Embark on a journey of discovery and mastery as you research new technologies. Whether you're aiming for efficiency or artistic expression, FOUNDRY offers an immersive experience like no other.

do you know what the purpose or benefit of this blast furnace setup is? It looks like the hardest possible way to produce the plates. Once you unlock fracking and resources are infinite, why would someone use this method to produce the plates instead of the simple way?
From what I am seeing, the amount of molten ore that you get out is way more than my setup can process. I imagine that you get out a lot more than you put in. It my not be simple but it looks like it could be well worth it.
Glad you have explained the blast furnace. I’ve been scratching my head trying to work them out. Need to set the hot air inputs😮.
Can the fuel rods be burnt by the steam boilers? I’ve not tried this yet but it’s the only use I can see for them at the moment. Base is looking sweet done some graft there getting it so neat 👍🏽
I haven't tried them in the boilers yet but it seems that you actually get the casings back so I'm not sure how that would work. Will have to test it out some time.
Great explanations showing how these huge monstrosities work! Damn thats alot of power they are eating tho, you talked about better fuel cells earlier in the video, are they able to be sent to the power plants that were burning the worse fuel you made same time as the jetpack fuel to give you a power boost or is it a different building entirely?
Thanks, I don't really know what to do with the power cell. Whatever you do, it seems that you get the casing back, so that might be a different setup in the future.
Finally to understand how to set up this stuff. Takes ages to build, demolish, build, demolish as try and error process... Wasted so much time already.
u could just run 1x1 building block to transmit low voltage power to the loaders on top for elevator.
Cool. I thought about that but I felt that running cable would look more neat. Thanks for watching.
@@surtrplays I did the same when i have like 100+ block height elevator shaft to transmit electricity down, but if it is like 20-50 block only i just use building blocks. Mostly cause i dont have transformers and cables on me but blocks i do. :)
can you do one freight elevator with multiple floors?
It doesn't look like the freight elevator allows multiple floors. Only the normal elevator can do that. Just leave space for multiple freight elevators.
@@surtrplays darn.
mineral ores comes in unlimet mines to
I don't know. Will have to test it.
You seem to have been burning the midnight oil to redo your entire layout and building these blast furnaces. Seems like a lot just for plates and rods though. I am not as far along as you but, I looked at those fuel rods and I have found no use for them at the moment. Maybe they are for a future power source. Maybe I'm missing something. I'm glad I am not a Vlogger my layouts get a bit messy. Functional over neatness for me at the moment. 🤣 Good video.👍👍
Pretty hectic trying to do everything in this game. I hope the next power source is going to be something huge as well. Fortunately I am enjoying this so much that hours go by and I don't even notice. I get completely lost in this game. Thanks for watching.
your Operation Looks awesome my friend thanks for all the tips so far I just started Playing but it been a fun endeavor Have a Great day my friend 👍👍👍👍
Thank you very much for watching.
So nice of you to explain how things work. And for me to learn from the mistakes you make. Thank you.
You are most welcome. Thanks for watching.
just two words - FOUNDRY = HUMONGOUS || & || YOU = STUPENDOFANTABULOUS 💝
Thanks you very much.
wow the blast furnaces look epic once built, the overall look of the whole build is very good now.
The scale is incredible. It really feels like a real mining/smelting operation.
Mineral Rock does indeed come in veins as well. Which is good, as most of the processes and products seem to be a bit too expensive, especially early game, to me.
And yes, I'm looking forward to new late game power sources for blast furnaces (and presumably other upcoming heavy modular industry).
Wow. I haven't seen a mineral rock vein on my map. I think the advanced power will only be coming in one of the next updates. Its going to be excellent.
@@surtrplays IIRC (from a brief glance in the video) my konge range scanner is bigger than yours. But yes, the seed you choose does make the game experience very variable. My first seed resulted in a very unfun early game experience, so I abandoned it and tried again, to much better results.
I can't seem to upgrade my scanner. It says I'm don't have enough power. I have more than enough but I'm not sure what I am missing.
omg those buildings are "HUGE"
Indeed they are. And power hungry too.
its looking very good m8
Thank you very much.
