JEDDAH, SAUDI ARABIA - Welcome to Jeddah, home of Albaik, what is probably the most famous fast food chain in the Middle East, originally started in Jeddah. Today we’re going to try it out, it will be my first time!
As soon as you land in Saudi Arabia, you’ll notice that Albaik is packed - every single location is buzzing and busy at all times of the day. Now I’m not normally that interested in fast food chains, but I had to make an exception for Albaik because it’s so popular and loved and I had to see what it’s all about.
I really wanted to go to the original location in Jeddah, but couldn't’ make it there - not sure if it’s still open now - but we did go to one of the original locations, and a popular location in the center of Jeddah. I ordered most of their signature fast food dishes, the best of them being the broast chicken.
They have regular broast and spicy broast, and the spicy broast proved to be some of the greatest fast food fried chicken I’ve ever had in my life. It was so juicy and not that spicy, but packed with flavor. I have definitely figured out why it’s so popular!
When you’re in Saudi Arabia, Albiak fast food is a must try!

I love Al Baik.... I used to work in Jeddah for 10 years and now I'm back to my home country Philippines, I suddenly missed the taste and aroma of Al Baik broasted chicken. I hope they can branch out to Philippines soon. Me and my collogues usually go there every Thursday for dinner. Thank you Mark for showing the world the famous Al Baik...

All of us Saudis have been eating from Al Baik since were kids, and still to this day seeing their food make our mouths watering. Happy for you to experience the food in our country, and thank you for showing it to the world.
As someone from Bangladesh who has been to Saudi Arabia before, no other fast foods including American chain ones can beat al baik. Al Baik is the best fast food I have ever had. Inshallah one day it becomes international chain fast food.

I tried Albaik with my mother and father in 2015 during our Haj time and I tried with my husband in Dec 2022 during our Umrah time it’s taste is MashaAllah very tasty. I wish I was born and bought up in Saudi…Saudi people are so lucky to be on the land of Prophet PBUH❤

Al-Baik is legendary Mark. In Indonesia, some reseller even imported that from Saudi and sell it online. Yup, imported cooked fried chicken then sell it frozen. Not a branch.

It looks more like the US Jollibee fried chicken which is also pressure-fried. We in the Philippines are getting lower quality on Jollibee products.

I’m pleasantly surprised to see that they use real chicken pieces and not a mystery paste for their nuggets unlike other fast food restaurants

Yeah... it's good to know real animals were mutilated to ensure you get actual pieces of meat... not the fake paste you get at KFC. Long live chicken pieces from dead animals.
I am a Pakistani but was born and brought up in KSA. Not many memories of KSA are still with me but Al-Baik is a taste my tongue ceases to forget. It's truly the best chicken in the world!

Albaik prides itself with its quality, its not simply any fast food chain, its quality packaged affordably.
It’s success is because for every meal you buy they assign 2 riyals (70 cents) to charities and they’re huge on charitable foundations not to say they’re very cheap compared to other fast food chains such as KFC but 1 million times better..

albaik in saudi yes very high quality, but in other countries in the world, their albaik sucks. They really need to impose quality control to other branches. they sell expensive yet the chicken is dissappointing. we want authentic albaik

I was born in Jeddah, now residing in the Philippines. I can taste childhood while watching you eat Al-Baik 🥲 I’m dying to eat this again. I didn’t grow up eating Jollibee so I hate dipping fried chicken in gravy. They have the best garlic sauce in the world!

I was born and raised in Jeddah until I left and honestly, one of my fondest memories of Saudi are tied with Al Baik. It is a staple for everyone living in the Kingdom. Honestly I haven't had better fried chicken anywhere even after living in 4 different countries and I preach the good gospel of AlBaik wherever I go. Thank You for doing this video Mark, you have done this chain true justice and rekindled fond memories for all of us away.

My first 7 years of childhood I spent in Yanbu, Saudi Arab. I can still remember the taste of Al-Baik.
For anyone watching this, you know that Mark likes what he's tasting if he does that head tilt with his eyes closed :D I never heard of this chain until I visited Jeddah on a business trip back in 2019 where a friend of mine insisted that I try it, and it was actually amazing! I didn't like the shrimp, but the chicken and the fish are to die for! Especially the spicy ones! I second what Mark said that it is the best fried chicken joint I ever tried! Props to Saudi👌

Mark, I didn't expect the stars in Jeddah night sky. Really they are serious in improving the environment. I lived for 30 long years in Saudi Arabia and finally I see the stars like I see in the Philippines.

Al Baik chicken are one favorite of princesses and i witnessed that myself...we we're their way back 2004 to 2005 at prince Sultan palace...the spicy one is the best...wow! I missed it...thanks mark weins for featuring al baik its been 19 years ago...
Broasted chicken is one of the most popular foods in Syria usually it's sold alongside Shawarma, I literally had like 5 Broasted and Shawarma places within 200 m of my house, and when it's done right and fresh , it's the best possible version of fried chicken you can have.... and the Garlic sauce is the best thing ever especially with fries.

I can confirm everything Mark says about Albaik hehe, it's really phenomenal place. It opens since morning in Madenah. It's probably the best fast food chicken I've had so far. Very juicy spicy and full of flavors. Also very affordable! Much love from Libya ✌️

I have tried many broast chickens ....but the crisp and flavor that AL-Baik has is why people love this... Majority of fast food chains have 70% bread crumbs than the chicken they coated. Have tried Al-Baik everytime I visit Saudia and it never has disappointed with the taste and quantity of the food

I love and miss KSA's broasted chicken. One of the best fried chicken in the world ! The legendary garlic sauce comes perfect with it.
I grew up on Al-Baik, its absolutely iconic and has always been so crowded!Infact, there used to be an al-Baik and KFC located beside each other and in the early 90's there was hardly ever a crowd inside KFC whereas Al-Baik was bursting at the seams. I haven't been back in Jeddah in 20yrs...this video brought back old memories. Glad you enjoyed it!

OMG, Al Baik - the iconic fried chicken and garlic sauce I grew up with. I just wish they had Al Baik here in the States. Fried chicken is huge here and I think Al Baik chicken is ten times better than KFC and maybe twice as better than Popeyes 😅. Mark, your food adventures are so tangibly vibrant and are mesmerizing. I’m considering a gastronomy-focused trip to Jeddah next winter thanks to this awesome Saudi series. 😁

The funny thing about Al-Baik is that even when the line is full, they dish out orders very quickly. I remember, back then you were given a number with a group letter. like A1 to C99. but still very quick. hehehe. I miss this a lot.
