Metroid Fusion is the end of the franchise, at the moment, in the time-line and Metroid Prime franchise take place between the original Metroid and Metroid II: Return of Samus (Game Boy and his remake, Nintendo 3DS, where Ridlye was added). Metroid Prime 4 is supossed to continue the real end of Metroid Prime 3: Corruption who connect Prime Hunters (from Nintendo DS) with the rest of the franchise (just a rumor). There is many histories on the Metroid universe to take, for example, is still missing what happen to Samus and the baby Metroid between Metroid II and Super Metroid, even Nintendo tell that Samus and the Baby take many adventures, so I still waiting for...I don't know how call, may be Metroid Second, and making a Metroid games starring with Samus and the baby. I can't stop to imagine how thats works, in a game where you need the help of the Metroid baby to resolve puzzles, but is just my mind.
There's something indescribable about this boss that makes it so epic. I think it's the fact that you're now fully upgraded with all your weapons and suit, all of which were acquired through a tough and long journey. You can tear through most of the enemies with relative ease and can conquer all of Tallon IV with your suit. And even then, you find yourself in a life or death situation, battling your oldest enemy, resurrected and just as powerful as you

I knew he would be in the game even when Sakurai said the same thing. Smash not respect the sizes of the characters after all, just look Olimar and Pichu, or Mario in front of Bowser in Smash compared with his own games, and so many people wanted for him, cause is an important character from his franchise. I'm glad to see him, and can't wait for play Ultimate with Ridley, K.Rool and Simon Belmont. It's gonna be the Smash that I was waiting since Melee on GameCube.
Months late, but i'm sure Sakurai would have been bothered by it if he hadn't put Ridley in Smash. I mean you know how the fandom is. They love shoving things down his throat even though arguably, he probably is content as long as fans are. I do think if it wasn't for the fan outcry, he would have just retained his boss title on the stage or possibly be a regular like Smash Ultimate bosses.
Burraku Dusk Hell, you basically HAD to due to the way the GC's aiming worked and the fict that Ridley was such an annoying bastard. AND once he gets on the ground he likes to spam his dash and block his mouth with his hand.
I've always loved how Ridley has his own theme. Every time you hear it, you think of him and vice versa. It's really iconic for the Metroid series and Nintendo in general. :3

There's something about this Ridley fight music that stands out to me. The chaotic nature, the mechanical sounds, the anger behind the music. All at the same time, being laser targetted at one person, Samus Aran. It has the sense of rivalry. It feels like Ridley is taking vengance for the events in Metroid 1. Pure unrivaled hatred for Samus. That coupled with the fire in his eyes...ugh i love it sooooooo much. This is the best Ridley fight in the series.
I don't know, man... I think that first fight with Ridley in Prime 3 is the best one. I mean, you're tumbling down the chute with him and it's up close and personal.

Snorlax9876 Yeah, it's not bad per se.. but since this is metroid, a more.. electronic and alien sounding tone is kind of its thing.. and it being orchestrated, for me at least, defeats its purpose.
This theme doesn't feel much repetitive as the repetitive motif in the main part of the theme has shifted to the percussion and it focuses on playing different, new, mechanical-feeling sounds and tunes to add in the main part, making the theme sound old school but new at the same time, just like Meta Ridley.

My favorite Ridley battle. In fact, this is what turned me into a huge Ridley fan. When he came back in Corruption joining forces with Dark Samus to take down their common arch enemy, I flipped.
So this was a pretty recent thing, but I was playing Pokemon Legends (spoilers ahead) I had this battle music on a video game playlist. I had turned the background music for PL:A off, so that I could have my own music playing behind it from UA-cam instead. I was in the Snowpoint Temple, trying to sneak up on an alpha Gallade, which soon spotted me. This music started playing the moment that Gallade began chasing me. I've never been more scared in my entire life 💀

To this day, hearing this theme, still perfectly makes me recall the intimidating image of Ridley's massive frame sweeping across the skies of the artifact ruins while you were confined to the ground, feeling like little more than a sitting-duck against his aerial mastery.

Its armored hide is extremely resilient, save for the chest, which has thinner plating. The Pirates have fused a number of potent weapons to the creature, including a Multi-Missle System, a Kinetic Breath Weapon, a Meson Bomb Launcher, and an Ultrathermal Flamestrike Projector. Meta Ridley is also a formidable melee combatant, making any sort of engagement a risky proposition.
Best scene? Watching Mete Ridley fly in the distance while there is a super misile plus a misile trying to hit it and the asshole avoids them. You stare at Ridley with a poker face and you will be like "Ok...."
The fact that this boss is so hard even when you fight with all upgrades and at basically full power is really a testament to how well this boss was designed and how to amp the player up for the final showdown with their nemesis
It's interesting to watch characters change over the years. I remember back in the day, way back, when Ridley was just a little 8-bit critter hopping around shooting bits of pixelated nonsense at you. Now look at him, he's a cybernetic killer dragon the length of a bus with the arsenal of a battleship.
The familiar music starts, and that's when I affectionately say: "Heeeeere's RIDLEY!!!" Goddamn it, Ridley. You beat Ganondorf and Bowser by a friggin' lightyear!

Rundas I do want to play through the games again. Hyper mode is same as hard on GC version. Also I knew how to stop him jumping and make it him charge at you more. Probably helps how I use super missiles when he is grounded. I think I would constantly go behind him and make him tail swipe, avoid the tail swipe and go backwards and he would be more likely to charge at you. Something weird like that. I had it down years ago. :)
QuintemTA Not sure about the RNG in Ridley Ground fight, but this giant space dragon just wanted to jump on me so badly... sigh... i would like to use Super Missile in groundfight but charging up and fire it takes too long to hit him, thtas why i used plasma over Super Missile. And im not sure but i think Hypermodus is in fact not like Hard in GC Version, its again harder. Dont quote me on that :)
Rundas I did not unlock hyper mode on Trilogy but from my experience with MP3 hypermode is the same as Hard. I don't know maybe you could tell me. In normal (GC) or veteran (Trilogy) the burrowing beetles have 5HP which is 5 power beam shots. In Hard (GC) they have 10HP, so I would guess they have 10HP in Trilogy hyper mode too. Basically hard/hypermode doubles the HP and Damage of all enemies. Another example would be Space Pirates. They have 45 HP in normal/veteran and of course 90 HP in hard/hyper. It takes 3 missiles to kill one in normal/veteran or 1 super missile. Since a missile does 15 damage and a super missile does 90! Yes I did work out the HP of enemies and damage of weapons :< not all mind.
This is one of the best boss themes ever composed in video game history it really gives you a sense of danger and not to mention it is just badass to listen to and is one of the best boss fights I had ever experienced and played!!!
seriously...the best way to enjoy the start of this fight is going to temple being like: "ok i got all of the artifact...time to go to the impact crater and finish this...wait...i feel like i forgot something..." *ridley shows up and music starts* "oh...right"
Now here's an interesting parallel you can draw. Ridley is pretty much like the Joker whereas Samus is like Batman. And just like Batman and Joker... These two were practically destined to do battle with one another.
David Li The games don't portray that. And in the Manga Ridley describes how he likely ate the corpse of Samus' parents in order to heal his injuries. And he quite enjoyed breaking down Samus during that bit.
This theme is just- MMMF!! Everything about Ridley’s theme encapsulates this feeling being on a timer, and the clock is ticking fast. Not only that, but a reminder that Ridley is not your average boss fight. He is cunning, fast, and can be tricky at times to pin down. But I mean just look at his boss fight in Prime 3. YOU FIGHT HIM WHILST PLUMMETING DOWN TO UNCERTAIN DOOM!!! That’s so epic, I mean WHO TF COMES UP WITH THIS?! But watch the altimeter on your radar the next time you face him. Watch as how the distance from you and the ground is, no pun intended. Plummeting. This theme is so awesome, it perfectly creates the feeling of being rushed, slightly fearful, but most importantly. It creates the sense of an epic dual between Samus and Ridley. You’ve killed him how many times, yet Ridley just keeps coming. Yet that doesn’t stop you, cuz you have a score to settle with the fire breathing mofo.
One of my favorite songs from the series tbh, It took me a minute (because I was younger and less skilled at the time when I first beat this game) but I got his attack pattern down, then he was easy to beat afterword! He was a boss I was happy to learn, the hard way, to beat. In learning it made me a better player.
From the beginning up until this particular point in the game, I really loved Metroid Prime, but when this music started to play I realized that the Metroid series had really stolen a piece of my heart. The music envoked such strong memories from the amazing Super Metroid that I was moved to tears.
This song sounds...I would say calming but similar to that and intense at the same time because you kinda just here this chill beat and all the choir pops in and it switches to intense and all the techno noises on top of it
This boss fight would've been so much better if it wasn't so long, tedious and if Ridley actually presented a good challenge. Oh well the good news is his badass theme will never be forgotten anytime soon.
I can get through the first phase damageless (without the boost ball trick either) but something about the end of the dash phase can still take 3-4 energy tanks from me. Best fight theme in the game, need the nostalgia even though I've only had the game for a year.
Love this track, if you get him going right, Ridley actually sort of fights to the beat. I like to think of him as an equivalent to The Joker, if Samus were equated to Batman. You just can't get rid of him, and of course he's awesome.
While I agree that the Other M version is objectively better... I still prefer this version over it. I do like the epic, orchestrated feeling that the Other M version has, but I think the techno, sinister vibe this one has fits Ridley better.

This was the ONLY boss that actually killed me in Hard Mode. The entire Hard Mode fight was a test of endurance, had a feeling Ridley wouldn't go down easily. And oh boy, did he not. When I finally delivered that last Super Missile to his core, I felt way too powerful to be stopped at that point. Amazing fight, overall!
Did You now that you can actually hit Meta Ridley when he charges his Dash? Shoot at the Right Time with a Charge Shot so you hit his Mouth and you actually interrupt his Dash Charge! It's very useful!
The music actually alows you to envision the fight sequence itself, is what is best about this theme. You can picture the jumping and lazerz and explosions as u listen

i remember playing the old version of metroid for the nes, and omg that game was hard, i love all the metriod games and the music is just fucking epic!!!!!! i love how the storylin stays pretty much the same. and i wish metriods were real so i could have one as a friend, not pet but a friend yes i know they're dangerous. but i still want one if they were real

This is one of the best boss battles I ever played. I loved when Ridley would fly like 10 miles out and come strafing through like an A-10.
The fact that this boss is so hard even when you fight with all upgrades and at basically full power is really a testament to how well this boss was designed and how to amp the player up for the final showdown with their nemesis
It's interesting to watch characters change over the years. I remember back in the day, way back, when Ridley was just a little 8-bit critter hopping around shooting bits of pixelated nonsense at you. Now look at him, he's a cybernetic killer dragon the length of a bus with the arsenal of a battleship.
The familiar music starts, and that's when I affectionately say:

QuintemTA Nahh, was using Plasma Beam for the last part but go and check him out again in hypermodus. U will be surprised how less dmg u deal to his breast plate, its ridiculous xD and it feels like u need hours to beat him :D

Rundas I do want to play through the games again. Hyper mode is same as hard on GC version. Also I knew how to stop him jumping and make it him charge at you more. Probably helps how I use super missiles when he is grounded.
I think I would constantly go behind him and make him tail swipe, avoid the tail swipe and go backwards and he would be more likely to charge at you. Something weird like that. I had it down years ago. :)

And im not sure but i think Hypermodus is in fact not like Hard in GC Version, its again harder. Dont quote me on that :)
Rundas I did not unlock hyper mode on Trilogy but from my experience with MP3 hypermode is the same as Hard. I don't know maybe you could tell me. In normal (GC) or veteran (Trilogy) the burrowing beetles have 5HP which is 5 power beam shots. In Hard (GC) they have 10HP, so I would guess they have 10HP in Trilogy hyper mode too.
Basically hard/hypermode doubles the HP and Damage of all enemies.
Another example would be Space Pirates. They have 45 HP in normal/veteran and of course 90 HP in hard/hyper. It takes 3 missiles to kill one in normal/veteran or 1 super missile. Since a missile does 15 damage and a super missile does 90!
Yes I did work out the HP of enemies and damage of weapons :< not all mind.
Best boss in the game by far. When he came down as you put the final chozo artifact, it scared the hell out of me. One intense fight. Great music too

I've read the manga. No media portrays Ridley as being schizophrenic or clinically insane.
David Li The games don't portray that. And in the Manga Ridley describes how he likely ate the corpse of Samus' parents in order to heal his injuries. And he quite enjoyed breaking down Samus during that bit.

This theme is just- MMMF!! Everything about Ridley’s theme encapsulates this feeling being on a timer, and the clock is ticking fast. Not only that, but a reminder that Ridley is not your average boss fight. He is cunning, fast, and can be tricky at times to pin down. But I mean just look at his boss fight in Prime 3. YOU FIGHT HIM WHILST PLUMMETING DOWN TO UNCERTAIN DOOM!!! That’s so epic, I mean WHO TF COMES UP WITH THIS?!
But watch the altimeter on your radar the next time you face him. Watch as how the distance from you and the ground is, no pun intended. Plummeting. This theme is so awesome, it perfectly creates the feeling of being rushed, slightly fearful, but most importantly. It creates the sense of an epic dual between Samus and Ridley. You’ve killed him how many times, yet Ridley just keeps coming. Yet that doesn’t stop you, cuz you have a score to settle with the fire breathing mofo.
One of my favorite songs from the series tbh, It took me a minute (because I was younger and less skilled at the time when I first beat this game) but I got his attack pattern down, then he was easy to beat afterword! He was a boss I was happy to learn, the hard way, to beat. In learning it made me a better player.

From the beginning up until this particular point in the game, I really loved Metroid Prime, but when this music started to play I realized that the Metroid series had really stolen a piece of my heart. The music envoked such strong memories from the amazing Super Metroid that I was moved to tears.
This song sounds...I would say calming but similar to that and intense at the same time because you kinda just here this chill beat and all the choir pops in and it switches to intense and all the techno noises on top of it

This boss fight would've been so much better if it wasn't so long, tedious and if Ridley actually presented a good challenge. Oh well the good news is his badass theme will never be forgotten anytime soon.
I can get through the first phase damageless (without the boost ball trick either) but something about the end of the dash phase can still take 3-4 energy tanks from me. Best fight theme in the game, need the nostalgia even though I've only had the game for a year.

This was the ONLY boss that actually killed me in Hard Mode. The entire Hard Mode fight was a test of endurance, had a feeling Ridley wouldn't go down easily. And oh boy, did he not. When I finally delivered that last Super Missile to his core, I felt way too powerful to be stopped at that point. Amazing fight, overall!
