Should the Titans BENCH Ryan Tannehill? Film Breakdown

  • Опубліковано 5 вер 2024
  • In this film breakdown, we take a look at Tennessee Titans QB Ryan Tannehill, who had the worst game of his career in Week 1 versus the New Orleans Saints. Tannehill went 16/34 passing for 198 yards and 3 INTs. With Tannehill appearing to regress, the question now is how long of a leash does Tannehill get from Mike Vrabel, before the team looks towards Malik Willis and Will Levis as the next man up.

he gets 3-4 games to find his form. If he still looks stiff, is missing open receivers and making bad reads, then we might as well focus on our young guys. Maybe trade him to the Jets or falcons mid season if our season is lost by then.

To be fair to Tannehill, he had 2 MVP-caliber years under Arthur Smith as OC. Then they lost Smith to Falcons, traded AJ Brown to the Eagles, and had some issues on the offensive line - things have been pretty terrible ever since then. That's the issue with a defensive head coach, no matter how great he is - if you have a great OC he's gonna get poached to be HC for another team, and then you might be screwed.

With the win now roster you have currently, I don’t think it is realistic to allow Tannehill to remove us from contention before benching him. The job should be up in the air rn, and whichever of the 3 QBs seems most ready to win games should win the job that week.

I think he had a fair amount of misses in a range that he's never been comfortable with. He's best used on playaction, with pre-determined reads, in the 6-15 yard range inside the numbers. His arm talent has always been lackluster which is why the early years of his career are such a same. They never used the option when he was young and quick and could have had 400 - 600 yard rushing seasons. I'd like to see them run the ball out of gun more and work off of playaction rollouts where he can hit guys directly in front of him. If they want to work the sidelines and get these guys, like Phillips, and Burks out in space, they need to get them in front of him. If they wanna keep doing it this way they gotta move off of Tannehill and let the younger guys develop.

there is no excuse for this type of game play from a 12 year vet. he as played like ass since the 2021 season (Arthur Smith went to the Falcons). I say bench him after week 3.This team is too good to allow Ryan to tank this team. minus the Eagles amd Bills games ladt season, titans defense have allowed an avg of 16. points a game. that is SB caliber defense. (they give up alot of yards but yards dont mean anything if it doesnt convert to TDs) Also, Malik's progress is well beyond my wildest dreams. ideally, i would like for him to sit another year, but if tannehill is gnna play like this let's see what he has, and i think he will surprise the league. There is no way i would start levis when a rookie missed almost all of training camp. plus Malik's performance and progression from last year has earned him a another shot to start with the Titans. i personally would give him 3 games to see how he does. If he plays avg or show noticeable progession in each game i would keep the starter for the season. iIf he plays like ass then put Levis in. Regardless, see if Jets want to Trade for Tannehill

They can't seem to see or tell a good player from bad player that will never learn. I still say Coaching is our problem, They don't know how to coach a team and people are about to realize it because we never win anymore. Surely they aren't the only Coaches . Maybe we just need a new owner for the team and forget about a New Stadium because we don't deserve one.

Hopkins was a good move and at least adds a guy that can catch a damn ball but also no speed. compare it to the Dolphins. where Tua is throwing 5 yd passes for 20+ yds to wide open WR every other play
