owned 3 massey 135 in the past 30 yrs Brother still has one of them in montana there the best tractors I ever owned also had a massey 175, wish i still had it I could do everything with it plow disc and run the baler
Thanks for making this video! I have to do the same thing to an MF275, and looking at the service manual was no help. Now that I've seen you remove the hidden bolt, I'm pretty sure I can do the hardest part.
I have just purchased a TED 20 grey Fergie and have had to remove the starter due to it being faulty. After taking it apart and putting it back together it now works! Strange! Looks so much more simple and smaller than the 135 starter. The Fergie's one is engaged to the flywheel by inertia. Very simple and robust! and only 2 bolts and 1 wire!
A lot of Perkins engines have the same starter mounting, it is pretty much the same on our 135 and jcb's and from what I've come across, lots of folk don't bother putting the back bolt in again just do the front two really tight and leave it as that. Not a proper job but still works fine and easier for the next time it has to be changed
Well done Richard, that back bolt is always a bugger to get out. I really hope someone gives you a head cam for Christmas, hate to see you struggling trying to do everything one handed!!
good video again, to the people who say first comment or first, who cares, we all watch the same video or does the first comment watch an extended one or something
I don't own a farm but it is one of my ambitions to own a 135. Happy memories. Thanks for sharing

Any advice on how to remove the inside bolt of starter on a M F 390 T , The bolt it right up against the starter and not even room for a socket.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing right. Don't take shortcuts, the world's got enough sloppy bullshitters in it.
Great video happy Christmas
